Steve's voice-and-piano-only intro is stellar. Shivers, shivers, again and again. He's from outer space. What an album! Pity it's so underrated, close-to-unknown actually.
While listening to this piece, I have a thought, that the world would be a much less colourful place for me without H's voice. Few rock singers can convey emotions in such a way, that moves me so deeply, as H does. BTW: very good and underrated song.
This is the song that got Ian Mosleys attention when Marillion were going through tapes for a new singer when Fish left! It is easy to hear why H got the gig! I have been listening to marillion since 1984, and when Steve Hogarth joined, I knew they would be OK!
I woudl love to see Steve H given the reigns for just one album - it would be fully of catchy poppy chunes with a bundle of singles that would be in the charts esp with the quality of the other fellas.
I believe that Steve, however, always puts his own on every album. We have heard him in some of him solo and in collaboration with other artists. For my sake, the one with the RanestRane was the best. Which I participated in, being a great friend of this fantastic Band. But you never know. Let's wait and see what will come out of the new cylinder. Bye
@@MaxJesterDalkeyth Hogarth surely contributes, but he doesnt have free reign to do anything. He could walk in with the best 10 songs ever and the band would shelve them and let them sit of 5 years before looking at them. Can't write a song in under three years seems to be the motto according to SH podcast. And that is a shame. I bet there are some real classics we will never get to hear

Undoubtedly one of prog rock’s best vocalists.

No one has a voice like Steve's. Instantly recognisable💖
