  • We are back with a Car Profile! Car Profiles give you the information about the car and where the car currently sits in terms of Balance of Performance. If there is an update to the Balance of Performance or Physics I will do my best to update you in a follow up video or via the website.

    Car Profile FAQ;
    - Why Maximum RPM and not Maximum Performance on the Fuel Test? This is because not everyone uses bumper so they can't see the rev range. They can however see the Bar and that's why we use that. It also gives you an indication at how good it is at saving fuel because when we go to shortshifting you can see the difference with saving fuel as well as the performance.
    - Why are you using Tyre Wear? This is because the official Balance of Performance is done using Fuel and Tyre wear so will be more accurate.
    - Why Optimum over Fastest Laps? Because it's easier to get 10 individual best sectors than to get 10 best laps. You could blitz a sector 3 1 lap and a sector 2 the next lap and combined they create the optimum lap and a better picture.
    - Why are you doing 10 laps? This is because after that I feel tyre wear and fuel becomes more impactful.
    - Why Racing Medium tyres? I use this tyre as it's the "Middle" tyre in racing compounds. I feel the cars should be MOST balanced on this tyre in my opinion
    - Why no RAIN Test? a Rain test would not give the full picture because light rain is different to medium and heavy and cars react differently in each of the variations. No test would be the same and so would not be very informative.
    - What does the number in brackets mean on the Fuel Tests? This is how much fuel was saved from the FM1 run. The bigger the number the more it saved.

    PD just did you a favour mate.
    They just gave you opportunity to create all new content.
    Happy days.

    The only way to mitigate rear tyre temp issues in a FWD car, you have to induce a small amount of lift off oversteer to keep rear temps up, as in real life. Once you master it in the game FWD cars becomes more usable.
    Great content as ever

      It doesn't add enough heat on a fast line approach in game on courses like Sardegna... the rears cool too fast between corners. Downforce or weight. More mechanical drag is how to add heat in game, but it's still negligible on straighter course layouts.

  • @paianys
    @paianys Před 9 dny +8

    I dont think that there will be major change, maybe just for snow and dirt physics only... I wish they could introduce more realistic tyre wear engine and mechanical failures. Ppl abusing tyres and gearshift abuses to be faster... Tyres should overheat or cannot be used anymore if you slide too much for example. Downshift and overreving are another problem, if you downshift a car from 6 to1 its transmission should fail. If you overrev the car, engine should fail etc... There are lots of realism missing unfortunately, these are just major ones...

      100% will also be circuits in terms of the change. It will be interesting to see that's for sure. I do wish they would put engine protection on the crazy downshifting.

      @@tidgney yes my guess is wrong but I hope they will fix these.

    Yes, many of the FF cars lose a ton of tire temp on straighter line courses. The only real remedy is adding rear downforce or weight, and it still will only help so much on straighter courses.. I do a lot of FF racing in GT, so I do notice this across the board.

    at least more content for the car profiles!!!!

    Totally understandable that you'd pause Car Profiles with incoming physics changes. So annoying that all of our tunes will likely need reworking again once the update hits. And we have no idea when they'll change it again, either.
    Regarding the issue with rear tyre temps: I'm assuming this also happens with the other FF Gr.4 cars (double confirming since you said it's a unique issue). Also, for these car profile tests, do you leave the brake balance at default? Would a rear bias help with the tyre temps?
    Keep up the good work, Tidge 👍 Really appreciate all the work and dedication you put into helping us plebs 😂

    I agree with exactly what you said Tidge, the fronts overheat while the rears are ice cold. Huge problem overall for all the FF cars. You can't simply lean on the rears more so there is almost no way to sort this issue out.

    • @tidgney
      @tidgney  Před 6 dny

      Ye was a tad frustrating doing these tests because I do the same test 1 out lap 10 fast laps and after lap 3 it was just like... that's it and felt like pointless running. I do hope the new physics help them but sounds like it might be the opposite.

    I love these profiles Tidge! What I could use is a list of which of the GT3 and GT4 cars you are supposed to short shift and which you rev out. I know I can look at the curve diagram but does it change with the BOP? If anyone has seen this info in a list would be helpful, for us less inclined in car knowledge. Cause sometimes I feel I'm getting out-driven by people in the same cars. Probably skill issue, but..

    • @tidgney
      @tidgney  Před dnem

      There is a short shifting video planned at some point so potentially I could give a list during that.

    its because the Bop set up with Front wheel drive is crap.
    If we are allowed setups teh Front wheel drives become weapons.

    It makes a lot of sense to wait out the change, it could fail terribly and be reworked within a month or two.
    Thanks as always Tidge, this is quality information, and your dedication to supplying it is really appreciated. 😊

    As someone who does those kind of tests for my team, and had to redone things multiple times for BOP changes, you need multiple people doing those tests to speed up things. The hard part is finding people with similar times. But once you find, you can test all Gr3 in 1h to 2h.

    😮. Yoh T, I found this car love a short shift like supra used to be in GTsport just around half way, it's lightening fast but yeah the rears are doing nothing or just like training wheels for a bicycle 🚲 😂 like deployed as always
