Hades had two sections; 1. the place of torment or hell and 2. Paradise which brother Sam explained as ‘the place of comfort’ where Abraham is seen sitting with Lazarus. Remember, Jesus told one of the thief on the cross “today you will be in Paradise with me”. Luke 23:43. This is evidence that Jesus went to the ‘Paradise’ section.

John 10:17-18 doesn’t make any sense if Jesus, as God, was going to be responsible for his own resurrection from the dead. Why would he, as God, need to be “given” the “authority” by God the Father to do so?
Another worthy note about John 10:17-18 is this, the Greek word translated as “take” is “lambanō” which can be translated as “receive”. Even the translations who prefer to translate it as “take” go on to translate the same Greek word as “receive” at the end of verse 18 [ie] :-
“This commandment I have received/lambanō from my Father”. Here are some more consistent translations of John 10:17-18:-
John 10:17-18:- Because of this my Father delights in me, because I am laying down my life that I may receive/lambanō it again.”18 “No man takes it from me; I am laying it down of my own will, for I am authorized to lay it down, and I am authorized to receive/lambanō it again; this commandment I have received/lambanō from my Father.” [ABPE]
John 10:17-18:- For this reason my Father loves me, because I am laying down my life in order to receive/lambanō it back again. 18 No one is taking it away from me, but I myself am laying it down. I am authorized to lay it down, and I am authorized to receive/lambanō it back again. This is the command I received/lambanō from my Father." [WNW]
The above translations take away the idea that Jesus was going to “take back” his own life by resurrecting himself from the dead. Instead, It’s a life that he “receives back” from his Father and God and not a life he “takes back” himself. This context makes a big difference in understanding which severely weakens it as a verse to bolster the Trinitarian's reasoning behind John 2:19.
In John 2:19, Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
The Greek word translated as “raise” is “egeirō” which has a possible meaning of someone who's living raising “themselves” up from a seated or laying position [ie] Matt 2:20:
      -
Matt 2:20:- Get up/egeirō take the Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel; for those who sought the Child’s life are dead.”[NASB]
Matt 2:20:- Arise/egeirō and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead that sought the young child's life.[ASV]
Jesus simply meant that in three days, “after” his Father and God aroused him from death, he would simply “get up” or “stand up” from his lying position in death.
      Peace

That matches with what Jesus says in the garden of Gethsemane not what I will( aka I don't want to do this) but your will be done. He chose to subject his own will , wants, and desires to obey his Father's commands at the cost of his life.
He had to do this to not only save us but himself as well.

@thatwhichhasbeen-isthatwhi6575 Sam has made the point about this many times, the Father is greater than the Son, because the Son came as a servant. But being fully God he had the same powers as God, messiah literally means "God WITH us" it's common knowledge. When Jesus spoke, he spoke in parables and such, and unless you can comprehend those parables, I can understand why some things he says are hard to grasp.

@@brettmciver432 I agree. At Christ's crucifixion, many who profess the Trinitarian faith claim that the man Jesus died but the eternal son didn't. When Stephen was stoned in Acts 7:59, he called on the lord Jesus Christ to receive “his spirit”. Now here is the problem. When Christ died, he cried out to his Father” into your hands I commit my spirit” Luke 23:46… God is spirit and “if” the son is of the same eternal spirit as God, then what spirit is “Christ/the son of God” placing into God the Father's hands at death? for the father and son are of the same Eternal/ immortal spirit and nothing ever changes simply because the “eternal son” cannot die. Therefore, at 1 Pet 3:18-19, I fail to see how Christ was put to death in the flesh and “made alive in the spirit”, when according to Trinitarian theology, he has always been alive in the spirit. Confusing stuff huh!
      Peace

    • @prefereachother
      @prefereachother Před měsícem +6

This is not correct. It is appointed unto man once to die, then judgement. There is no second chance after death.
Death takes you to one of two places - sheol and hades. Sheol does not exist currently, as Jesus rescued those in sheol. The bible says hades has increased since then. Thus the lost is in sheol, awaiting judgement. Same reason the richman was eternally condemned. He also did not know Jesus.
So, is it unfair? Nope. The Word says people suppress the knowledge of God. Also, if you seek God, He will avail himself to you. So we find Abel seeking God, but Kain not. Through the generations we see this.
God gives all a chance to reach out to Him...this is free will. He calls for order in each persons life, and then it is up to that person to reach out and get saved, or stand forever condemned.
Lastly, Noah lived even in the years of Abraham. Do not look at that time as today, the people got much older and the truth has always been available. But man.......

Hell does not exist, the words Sheol and Hades mean the "grave", burial place of the dead. Why would you ascribe the title Father to Jesus when God's own Word goes to great length to grant Him the title of Son? Christ Himself referred to Himself as Son, and referenced the Father separately!
Christ knows not the hour of His return, only the Father knows. Calling Jesus "Father" is blasphemy. Please seek discernment to understand how Jesus can be God but still be separately from the Father!
My opinion, though I do not pretend to understand the mysteries of the Creator, is that Father and Son were one and the same in the beginning. However, to make a Son for Himself, begotten in flesh but not an heir to Adam, the Father took a portion of His infinite Self and breathed it in to a fetus He crafted in the womb of Mary.
Christ was firstborn of the New Creation. The Old Creation, which Adam was given dominion over, fell in to slavery to Sin when Adam submitted to the deceiver instead of the Father. Th deceiver is destined to hell, as is all that belongs to him. The wages of sin is death.
The Son was the beginning of a New Creation. He did not inherit Adam's legacy of sin slavery! He inherits the Kingdom of God. He died, though He knew no sin! He was paid the wages He did not deserve, so He used those wages to pay our debts! In doing so, He allows us to be born again, this time in to the New Creation as His coheirs!
This Old Creation took 6 days for Him to make with His own hands. How much greater, then, is the New Creation? For Christ ascended to Heaven nearly 2000 years ago and has been building it ever since!
In Jewish custom, when a bridegroom is to be wed, he must first prepare the home for his bride-to-be. He cannot go to claim his bride until his father approves the home. Once the father is satisfied that the home is worthy of the bride, THEN the son may return for his betrothed!
How incredible is that?! Christ has been building a place for us for nearly 2000 years, and STILL the Father is telling Him "No, it isn't good enough yet!"
Only the Father knows when the New Creation will be acceptable to Him for us! The Son does not know. He just keeps building it, room by room.
You see the importance of why Jesus is NOT the Father?! Jesus IS God. Jesus laid the foundations of this earth when God did, because in the beginning He was with God and WAS God. However, once He became flesh, He was no longer part of the Father. He ceased to be Omniscient or Omnipresent. The Father shows Him what He chooses.

Jesus was here before the son of Mary ... But when he took on flesh...notice I said took on flesh meaning he dwelled in flesh ! You can't say Christ became flesh because if that was true Mary would be the mother of God ! Son of man existed before the foundation of the world because he was in God's will/plan meaning he already knew Man would fall short of his Glory so yes he created a son to come into the world and the flesh inherited the spirits names and functions.. that's why he says I come in my father's name!

[13]O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

@llllllllllllllllllllllllIlIII I could show you scores of Bible passage that clearly state that we are not immortal and that death is an unconscious state. But persons like you will always try to rationalize away the truth that we are not gods. Only God hath immortality, and we can only have life eternal if we are in Christ. Only the saved will be resurrected to live forever at that last day when Jesus, the resurrection and the life, returns and calls his sleeping saints from the grave to put on immortality. 1 Corinthians 15:51-55. The idea that we go on living after we die was the first lie told in scripture by the enemy in Genesis, "you shall not surely die". Satan wants us to believe that we are eternal, therefore not needing God to sustain our lives. But God said clearly, the wages of sin is death; and He told Adam, Genesis 3:19
in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
Adam and ask his children were barred from the tree of life. Only those in Christ have the hope of one again eating from the tree of life, in the new heaven and earth, and living forever with no fear of death again. See Revelation 2:7 and 22:12-17, for example.
Those who refuse salvation through Christ will finally reap the consequences of sin, which is death. Malachi 4:1-3
[1]For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
[2]But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
[3]And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
Keep studying God's word Satan's lies will become clear.

    Excellent work by Sam Shamoun!
That's something that isn't understood by a majority of believers, and it's great to hear Sam expound on it.
I think a distinction should be made as well; The Lord went to those in this "realm of the dead", Sheol, Hades....
....this is a very different thing from The Lake of Fire or Gehenna mentioned in Revelation.
(The place prepared for the Satan and his angels)
In our minds we sometimes equate Gehenna with "hell" and a Dante's inferno depiction. But this is an incorrect imagination.
Until the Day of Judgement before the Throne, the Lake of Fire is currently actually empty.

An angel finally came as a beam of light and opened up a doorway for me into the pit of righteousness.
