Hey bro my torx is damaged by the drive shaft it’s not easy to take out as well there’s no space to fit a bit around it any ideas on how to get this done
Thinking about giving this a try though I have stubborn allen key bolts seized into motorbike forks which are holding plastic mudguard on, am concerned tool may pinch down on plastic and crack what do reckon worth a shot regardless?
I would try it! The plastic can’t be that expensive if it would crack, but maybe spray some penetrating oil on the bolt too and hope it comes out clean 👊🏼
some prev owner/shop stripped bolts on harmonic balancer golf v 2006, tried to do timing belt job but can't get balancer out. i managaed to hammer into one and take it out with the triple square socket, but the other 2 (ye its weird there supposed to be 4 but the 4th is a blank ?) are stripped to DEATH, 10mm can't get in too big, 8mm is just rounded off and no grip... now I gotta wait a month for a set of these sweet extractors. Thanks for showing how to use them. Hope I can break the timing belt free.
forgot about those things lol. I believe i have some somewhere. 03 jettas have T50 torxs on their rear calipers. stripped one of them out unfortunately. thanks for the video
I have a question for that piece you cut out from the flywheel to get better access to the flywheel bolts. What tool did you use to cut it out? I ran into the same situation
This is godsent! I just spent hours trying to remove the t50 bolts from my outback xt 2005 with a torch, pb blaster and got two striped and 4 are still there. Will try this. Thanks a lot.
@@4link4wd It worked great, I was able to remove all 6 bolts and the irwin socket is still in great shape; thank you so much for the video. Not sure what else I could have done without it since I don't have a welder. What has me concerned is that the outside of the front face of DMF has small chips. Thanks again!!! I am an Irwin socket believer now.
I'm trynna figure out how to remove my stripped t55 bolt holding my rear track bar on my jeep, will this still work? (Haven't seen the enter video yet)
Oh boy haha I think you’re better off doing some cutting there. Is the nut broken off the bracket? I’d probably cut the head off and try to cut the nut off if that is what happened. Those are a pain
SRY FOR YOUR TROUBLE WITH THIS. I STARTED REMOVING MY FLEXPLATE IN 4.0 V6 USING RACHET,GOT NOWHERE,EVERYTHING TRYING TO ROTATE. FIRED UP IMPACT,WORKED NO ISSUES!
I have a Snappy brand set of these that have worked well in the past for me. But i came here looking for answers when they won’t work like they aren’t for me on the MiniCooper Clutch after I stripped them using a standard socket. I went and got the right sockets but it was too late.
The video shows what doesn’t work, what does, and how I came to that conclusion. If you don’t want the explanation, you can always skip to the end like any other video 😁
3 years later this video is still helping people !!!! THANKS!
I have that same Irwin set and it has saved me major headaches on two separate occasions already
This advice was really helpful when I was taking off cam pulleys. Thanks so much for this.

and how do you get the bolt out of the socket?
Thank you.
I had a 18mm bolt round off ,on me today.
Had to use an 11/16 , (17mm wouldn't go on) hammer it on and worked lovely.
Hell yea 🙌🏼 I’m glad it worked out!
Thanks, it's been driving me spare. I'll try the drill idea and see how it goes. Cheers👍
I'm going to get this tomorrow
thanks just what I needed....one of my head bolts was totally striped....thank you Jesus for bolt extractors....
They are a god send 🙌🏼
Hello sir, I have a torque screw T40 that I can’t get it to move. Would these work for screws or only bolts ? Thank you !!

Hoping it went once you got your extractors!

Right haha that’s the worst when you remember later you have a tool that could have helped 😂 Good luck! And thank you too
I have a question for that piece you cut out from the flywheel to get better access to the flywheel bolts. What tool did you use to cut it out? I ran into the same situation
Hey I used a 4.5” angle grinder with a cutoff wheel on it. Cut through it pretty quick. A dremel could work too but would take much longer

Happy to help! It definitely works though, 100%. As long as you tap the socket on well worth a hammer, itll grab
Also, you obviously can’t re use the flywheel but no need to re use a DMF anyway lol

@@happytrails7179 what size Irwin extractor did you use with the t50 bolt? Thanks.

This help out for stripped flywheel bolt thank you
Great! And thank you for the kind words
those extractors are great to have. hopefully you converted to a single mass flywheel while in there
Absolutely, they work wonders. I need a full set now in every size lol. And sure did convert it!
Hoping this helps me get injector 7 out of my 6.0 powerstroke
Good luck! 💪🏼

Are they just not sized up right?
I’m having the same problem with my flywheel on my frs.
Did you try these Irwin socket extractors? Really works so easily
4Link 4WD I did and it worked.
Cecil Don Nice! Glad it worked
These are a god send
I could use one of those much smaller
I always try to use those and everytime it stripes it worse for me.
I think the key is really smacking it on with a hammer/mini sledge if you’re able to
Or use the rocket socket brand, they bite just a bit better than the Irwin brand.
@@kelnap2294 I’ll check that out! Thank you for the info
That's another female torx head screw mine are all Male head torx screws
You can finish it in 2 minutes
Get to the point. No need for back history 🤦🏾♂️
Thanks for the video though 🤷🏾♂️
Them screws are as bad as female hex screws
If it's 'easily remove' video - why is this video so long? LOL
