(Toyota had gas pedal that gets stuck floored and exploding airbags while driving but i mean toyota is perfect. Who cares if your car flew into river or airbag exploding while driving
bigger problem is alternator. Of course this was sarcasm. Toyota is great but other car manufacturers are also great. Scotty is great mechanic but why always "because it's dodge this is wrong".
Take for example dodge demon you can do hundreds of burnouts and still drive home normally.

2005 Dodge Durango 4.7L owner here. My Durango has a bad Body Control Module (Chrysler calls this a Central Timing Module). When the car is parked the dome lights randomly turn off and on. Sometimes the dome lights never act up when parked but most times they do. When driving, the door ajar dashboard light (along with the dome lights) randomly turns off and on which also makes the doors lock and unlock if driving faster than 15 MPH. I am sending the CTM in to G7 Computers soon. They will fix the module for $275. I will have a video on my channel soon with this story.

As a Dodge owner, I will say Dodge loves to cheap out on some of their parts and it shows(which is ironic because when Dodge first became a company the whole point was to build high-quality cars that were better than what Ford made) With that said the car has never had any major problems and only has had minor problems along the way and overall has been a great car.

Scotty is right the central computer programming is to blame for these. I had a 2011 Citadel after 3 years of owning it I started having these issues.
    - replaced the alternator
    - recalled the fuel pump relay (then it started not shutting off the fuel pump after engine stop (would come out to 1/8th a tank less)
    - multiple recalls to replace the sunroof wiring harness (possibility of setting the car on fire)
    - Central computer was replace 3 times
    - Recalls for the possibility of the engine not shutting off on rollover (programming issue)
    - Recalls for the possibility of air bags not deploying on crash or deploying randomly!
    - Adaptive Cruise Control would freak out anytime I passed another dodge
I've lived inside and out of an engine bay since I could turn a wrench. I'm also in IT and I actually got the car to exhibit the conditions while decelerating down an off ramp form 65 to a 25 mile an hour turn Engine stall (confirmed with scanner at the dealer that it thought it has rolled over) computer replaced.
I was contacted by a law firm that is doing lemon law on I think 2010-2014 but it would have taken 18 months or more SO... I traded it and learned my lesson.

That's right. I've owned Chrysler, GM, & Ford Products with model years from '68 to 2003...And the most reliable ones I've had were the GMs(4 Chevy, 2 Buick, 1 Pontiac) Chrysler (1 Cordoba, 1 Newport, 1 PT Cruiser) & then the Found On Road Deads (2 Grand Marquis, 1 Ford Van, & the Mercury version of a Escort). The majority of my cars were non-computer - the PT, the Mercury econobox, the '92 Buick Roadmaster, & the '81 Grand Marquis were the exceptions, w/the PT being the most durable computer car. So while you're stroking yourselves over a Dodge having issues, remember: yours could be next.

Alex Bee been a Mopar man all my life. Started in the 70s right on up through. All of the muscle cars you can think of I have owned them. Still driving newer Chrysler products. I think most of it is people want to get cheap oil and then not change it on Lower regular intervals. 3500 miles or less and my oil is out and changed. Filter also. it's fair to say that all of the automotive manufacturers have issues. But maintaining your vehicle is a good part of that long long mileage survivability

Have a 2013 SXT - same exact thing happening to me.
There’s a common recall on many of these years - the fuel pump relay.
It could be that, or a faulty ground. Both are very common. Also the ignition is VERY sensitive, and even the slightest graze against it can make it shut off.
    Good video

      @@mc540flip Eh I don’t know. I think you should.
My issues never resolved. In addition to the stalling I ended up cracking my transfer case, which is a $2500 repair. I never fixed it as I had enough and just traded it in for a 2018 Ford Edge SEL which has been a wonderful vehicle so far. Much better than the Durango.
My other big gripe with those year’s Durangos is that the SXT’s V6 offered almost NO pickup/pep. They revamped their V6 around 2018 to make it a reasonable acceleration. The vehicle is just too big for less than 280 hp
