- Rome 2 DLC - which ones are worth it, and which ones are not? In this video, I go over every DLC and expansion campaign pack for Total War Rome 2. IF you think you've seen this before, it's because this is a part of my bigger overall review of Rome 2, but if you were only interested in the DLC section, I thought this could be interesting for you. The full Rome 2 Review is available right here: • The Total War Rome 2 C...
Is there a DLC for Rome 2 that you love in particular, or do you think they're all bad? Let me know in the comments, and please remember to leave a like and subscribe to the channel :)

If you do this for the average Paradox or Train simulator game it would be the longest video series on CZcams.
Stellaris alone would take 5 hours
Next video: best dlc overhaul mods for Rome 2
I like the shader tool, but they've updated it and it's hard to find the right balance.
i loved having a mod that unlocks ALL FACTIONS for years just to end up paying for them in later years
Its so funny that all these are dlc and then you look at rome 1 or medieval 2 and everything was free from the start
They both had expansions bruh
@@OliverGoodwin-ee5ux yes but medieval 2 had almost all base factions unlocked except unplayable in Rome 2 they just cut normal playable factions you could play in Rome 1 and made you pay
@@UphillHook yeah I totally agree with that
I loved playing with Kush years ago, the first TW campaing I ever finished playing on higgest difficulty.
Arrows and pikes until Rome.
Kush has been my favorite faction for a while. I think they are one of the best plays.
I've recently been replaying the wrath of sparta campaign and honestly it's better than i remembered it. The longer recruitment times and spread out colonies present a unique challenge, and I had fun as the Athenians trying to snipe at unprotected port settlements with my navy. Also fun to take on the Persians and Macedonians in the late game, though I think they could've done more with that tbh. All-in-all my clear favourite campaign expansion for TWR2.
I was hoping for a Gladiator army with the' Daughters of Mars' DLC but It didn't quite work out that way :(
Andy, how come the textures in this video, in the game, are so sharp? They look gorgeous. I am on a good machine, and on a 1440p monitor, but they're far from looking this good. Is it a 4k monitor or have you tweaked some settings in your GPU control panel? Thank you.
Might be a combination of 4K and reshade, which makes things look a bit sharper? :)
on the topic of focused maps yes they are overall a more realistic experience i guess you could say i mean lets remember spain from medieval 2 , the reconquista lasted centuries while you can end it in a decade or lessby the time you get the knights of santiago there are no moors left to fight but i try my best to slow down my expansions for example in my current rome 2 campaign its the year 203 bc and i have only just advanced into raeti and helvetii lands
I'm doing a numidia and mauretania coop campaign with my buddy in empire divided playing as governers serving emperor aurelian. Its really fun since we are both romans starting with little territory close to each other and also a challenging start since we are surounded by our african and latin Iberian enemies.
The desert kingdoms or at least one of them has super cheap slave units which kind of changes the game a bit. Mainly being you can field more stacks and even have literal throw away slave death stacks.
How does this only have 6 views so far?
Oh the potential that could be Rome 3
I find it funny that Andy forgot the worst culture pack: Nomadic tribes, unlike the nomads in Atilla they aren’t nomadic and have to play the same city management game as the other factions and their armies are majority horses with few infantry units so sieges with them are boring. In my opinion Nomadic tribes should have been either a Germanic or Britannic tribe DLC as there is only one of each playable faction in the Grand Campaign.
I love Rome 2 but I think half the extra campaigns are bad. Also I only buy culture packs for the multiplayer factions and with one of them you unlock the tortoise for a few factions that should have them for free in multiplayer. Also i think the prices have increased significantly for the dlc since 2018.
pls do the Attila DLC :D
Yes, that's correct, Lepidus 🤷♂️
What I absolutely hate about the Desert Kingdoms is, that in EVERY SINGLE campaign of mine, Nabatea takes the whole middle-east EVERY TIME and Saba always takes Iran and westwards EVERY TIME and Kush kills Egypt EVERY TIME. They seem to be so OP that the AI can not stand a chance against them.
But this pattern is the same with some factioins in every culture group. Every campaign plays the same cause the same factions gain the upper hand every time :(
awesome!
Rome 2 gets a full Empire Divided and Imperator Augustus map while TW: Attila gets the bland-as-a-plain-ham-sandwich Age of Charlemagne dlc. There is no God, lol
at least we had a banger modding scene...
*sigh*
Remember playing rise of the republic as venetians (or whatever they are called) despite me butchering all the event spawned gallic migrators Rome just got completely stomped
I know its not really related to the video but i think i prefer total war games to paradox games because paradox games are not really more complex, they are more abstract(numbers and percentages). Although total war seems simpler, i like how close you are to whats happening in the game. You recruit 2 units in 2 turns and then place them on a bridge. BAM. Now you block the bridge and have a huge advantage against whoever tries to cross it. No need for numbers or menus
Nah it's ok with the Greek factions, I conquered Rome with Sparta, Athens and Epirus. Epirus is special coz Rome was dead on turn 26 when I played as Epirus.
God i love ROME 2
Great game, worst priced DLCs ever
They put the real prices in steam sales. blood and gore is never included tho. probably SEGA thinks only richer people care about it lol
Buts its 2025 bro
You got me scared there for a second
