THANK YOU-- GREAT info- and the wiper one ESPECIALLY-- because that is one of the most aggravating things-- when they start getting noisy and not cleaning.. but htis DOES fix it.. and makes the expensive wiper blades last a LOT longer... THANKS AGAIN.
WD 40 attracts dust, so if you are going to use it on the car, at least use the wd40 silicone. WD 40 used on the lights, it's gone in a few days, the same as everywhere else on the car. On the wipers it leaves greasy marks...

Spray it on a rag first , then apply ... Especially near brakes , or use something else as you don't want to get it on the brake rotors and pads , it will contaminate them and you'll suffer from less brake power .

Kerosene would destroy your clear coat, so people sometimes claim that WD-40 would do the same. However, the ingredients are not used individually. WD-40 is mixed to precise proportions, and once it's mixed together, the ingredients are safe on your paint. Yes, you read that right.
But NOT safe on rubber or near brake discs?

Do not use as a lubricant (eg on hinges.) Too light and evaporates quickly, dissolving any residual lubricant. Guaranteed squeak! Read the label.

When spraying WD40 on wheels. avoid getting any on the discs. The brakes will be seriously compromised and nay cause an accident!
WD-40 is also a great tar remover. Spray it on the tar, let it sit for 10 or 15 seconds and the tar comes right off. It will not hurt the paint but it does remove your wax.
Don't use WD40 on your vehicle - only for rusty bolts and screws. It's not made for cleaning your headlights, wipers, tires, interior; or any plastic. It's also bad for your vehicles painted finish.

WD-40 makes excellent fish attractant when sprayed on lures. It is based on fish oil.
WD -40 is a great cleaner...especially for new machines that are all oiled up.

Acetone works best on cleaning wiper blades and making them last years.
Use rubbing alcohol not wd40 oil is the last thing you want on your windows fucking bad advice here
wd40 is 60-80% n-hexane. it removes the softeners from every plastic. The headlights are clean but they will tear. it is particularly dangerous for car tires. please read the warnings on the can and be careful with this stuff guys.

You can also use it to lubricate rubber gasket in window for smooth operation of window. Just spray on the side track of the window and it helps to slide the window smoothly and will be easy on motor.
Use silicone spray. Wd40 will eat away at the rubber plus will attract dust . Silicone is for all rubber and plastic parts

There are some good examples here, but in most of these he sprays much more than is needed. For instance, at 0:49 he sprays too much, and heshould have used the cloth to quickly stop that drip-down, but he just ignored it.

I agree with you on the WD-40. That stuff is probably like the worst thing you can put on your car. I wouldn’t imagine much harm in using a little shaving foam on the windows though… 🤷🏼♀️
