We just stayed next door (on a really quick trip) at the Oceans Riviera Paradise in one of the swim out rooms. Loved the swim out option but I love the idea that there at the Grand Princess they were connected (ours were not and the water felt very stagnant). I would be temped to try Grand Princess if we return to Playa and would definitely stick to the swim out option for sure. Thanks for the video!
Been here 6x going back next month super excited. We are a family and love to enjoy the swim bar while the kids splash around us.
I've gone here 3x and it's amazing for the price you can't beat it stuff is great food is good...beautiful resort!!!

I was there in June . The green algae thing is seaweed . Us brits are definitely used to it , it’s not poisonous or toxic , it’s literally a sea plant .

I go every year, it’s well over 30 degrees so water is warm. Food is great and hotel grounds are enormous. 6th time this year, same hotel.

Was there in 2014 2015 2016 then went to Jamaica Italy Greece disney world florida new york city now next week back to princess sunset Mexico absolutely always the most fun is at the princess sunset in riviera maya Mexico

Hi charisse D you might already know this, but if you don’t July, or summer time is the worst time to visit the Rivera maya due to the waves of sergaso. This comes back every year. Would recommend going during September- March. I’ve been there in those time frame and water was clear and blue and not brown.

Great video. I was there 4 years ago in December. I'm planning on going this month in late August. I was wondering is it uncomfortably hot and humid? How is the algae/seaweed situation? Can you see the turquoise water? Was there daily activities for the older teens and young adults? How was the airport, was everything running smoothly?

I hope the beach water is clean when i get there in September i dont like sea weeds i live clean pretty beach water that is clear.
Was there in December 2023. There were bits of some seaweed in the water but it wasnt and issue and a lot of people were in the water. Bring water shoes though, a lot of big rocks around. Water was warm and I am sure will be a lot warmer in September.

Is the green algae a common thing as we really want beautiful white sand and clear water. Those are very important to us
Went there in February this year... she's pretty much correct on everything. Although I wanted the swim out room, the Villa room was way better and you are considered a preferred guest with all sorts of perks. I would suggest pre-booking any restaurant way ahead of time. The only thing that I would say that I didn't like was the "walking ads." You have to understand that the staff are working for tips and they really want you to come here and go there and do this... they are around nearly every corner at the entrance making offers... its a drag... but other than that, the place is spot on for a vacation!
Hi there! I am going there in August this year, and was wondering, were you able to swim in the sea? She mentioned an “algae” problem and I was hoping that it would be solved by then.
@@iw_littlekimchi123 the algae was still there and it was a lot of it. It didn't totally ruin the beach experience... but it was a drag.
How was the beach situation in February?
@@CanadianSpeedster The beach was ok except for the algae. People were able to get in the water... just through the algae. Workers were trying to remove it from the beach... it was just a lot of it. But it did not totally ruin the experience. At least it didn't for my wife and I.

Funny story when I went like 8 months back a we went for lunch and left our swim out door open. Well a coati somehow jumped in a we came back to find half of our candy eaten and a coati chilling on my sister’s bed

Did you have to book the restaurants in advance? How was this process like?
Check in was easy peasy, maybe a 10 minute process, they gave us a glass of champagne while they were working on everything.
They have an app!!!!!! I should have mentioned that. You book your reservation on the app up to three days in advance. Super easy

Thinking of booking this for our honeymoon, I’m a fussy eater, what do they have in the Buffett for breakfast eg is there freshly made pancakes and beef/chicken for dinner that it plain like cooked infront of you live cooking stations etc thanks in advance

You may has a shuttle with some people from different resorts. I would say you are looking at 40mins - 1 hour depending on traffic and how many hotels you drop people off before it gets to the Princess.
What times the shows at night?
Is late December a great time to go here?

I’ve booked a stay here for Thanksgiving but I’m starting to second guess it. I see many negative but also many positive reviews on google, yelp, TripAdvisor etc. I booked the laguna villa suite and paid quite a pretty penny extra for it and just want to make sure my money will be well spent. With that being said how was the food in your opinion? We’re the drinks and food all inclusive? What wasn’t included in the stay? How was the staff? And did you have any grievances?

no , didnt like the food, service and the smoking, the shuttle sevice is every hr if you are lucky, the only good thing is the beach club, where you pay for an expensive meal and then you get access to the private beach section with better service

I read online for the junior suites the Miso restaurant wasn’t included, did you have to pay ?
You don’t have to pay but we’ve been to the hotel 5 times and barely use the upstairs restaurants as the buffet is so good.
Hey did you need to wear any fancy attire for dinner like a dress code ?
Yes we did! There is a dress code but they aren’t very strict with the rules. Men are supposed to have long pants and closed toe shoes. Women are allowed to wear shorts and Sandals to dinner.

There is a dance club from 10pm-1am I believe with a bar inside and a live DJ. Music is blasting.

Yes every night there seemed to be something different
Did they have volleyball / beach volleyball?
There was 1 net that I noticed and normally people were always playing.
Is there a 24hr bar ?
24 hour sports bar that has AC.
Does it have a night club for adults?
yes
I was here in 2018 or 2019. If you are on a budget and would like a more family oriented place, this is okay (not great). Food is mediocre at best (even their French restaurant), beach has plenty of dried brown seaweeds and the water is murky. The walk to the beach front will take you so long since the place is massive. Alcohol beverages are watered down. Check in took so long for us and if you’re traveling with a group, you may not be given a room close to one another. There’s no airport shuttle to and from hotel. I rate this place as 5/10. Go somewhere else for better dining options, beach access and activities.
