- The Grand Riviera Princess Hotel, all-inclusive, is a 5-star resort in Riviera Maya is nestled in an ideal location next to a stunning, white sand beach, close to all the main attractions in the area. Along with its sister resort, the Grand Sunset Princess, it’s only 40 minutes from the Cancun airport, and just 10 minutes from downtown Playa del Carmen. The location of the resort allows you to easily discover all the best Mexico has to offer, both if you prefer the peace and relaxation of a natural environment by the sea, or if you prefer the energetic and cosmopolitan environment of downtown Playa del Carmen. Went there in 2014 2015 2016 and now next week 2024..other years went to Jamaica Cayman islands Italy croatia greece but always the best time was at the princess sunset riviera maya Mexico absolutely the most fun
Thanks for watching
Was at the Sunset Princess 6 years ago and Riviera side Dec 2023. Pretty much the same as it was 6 years ago. New was them serving cans of beers at the bar and not just draught beer. Ocean was warm with some seaweed and garbage floating but was fine to cool off. My advice, bring water shoes because there are a lot of rocks and I did notice a lot of people bleeding. Wish there was a bit more selection in the main buffets. If the price is right, I would return to this resort.
Thanks for the review.
Superbe présentation de l’hôtel, merci beaucoup à vous, car nous avons découvert des choses que d'autres vidéos ne nous avait pas montré. Continuez....
@Papybapho merci beaucoup pour vos commentaires géniaux. Merci d'avoir regardé !
Great vid, Staying there myself in few months and this has filled me with confidence I made the right hotel choice
Have a great time! Thanks for watching!
Great job so far! Excited for the review of Platinum
Thanks for watching!
Would you recommend a swim up pool room and is the all inclusive 24 hours and does it included access to all areas or is there any additional costs
@yvonneburns3855 if you like to go directly into the pool from your suite, consider the swim up suite. It could also be useful if you prefer to sleep in. The all-inclusive nature of the resort allows access to the restaurants and bars during open hours only. Each restaurant and bar keeps its own hours. There are still some Privilege areas that require additional costs up front and allow further access to some restaurants, bars and premium drinks.
@@PapaSteveOnTheMove Thank you, I've booked a swim up room for August
@yvonneburns3855 you’re going to love it
Great review. Very detailed
Thanks for watching!
Just booked for April, hope the tennis court and gym are nice also.
Have a great time!
Papa Steve, when were you there when your video showed nice clear water beach with no seaweed. Is the swim out an upgrade option? Their website didn’t show any building with the swim out. Thanks
I know seaweed is an issue all along the coast. I was up watching the sunset each morning and saw nobody clearing seaweed like other resorts. Maybe just the current. You can definitely swim at the beach. Any swim out rooms are all located on the pools. Nothing along the beach. You have to walk down to the beach.
Nice video!. Even tho it says all exclusive, does this include the book in restaurants and bars at the beach? Thank you 😇
Hi, the resort is all-inclusive, meaning that drinks and food are included. There are still some restaurants, bars and pools that are not included. They can be added for an extra cost (Prestige or Platinum rooms).
@@PapaSteveOnTheMove thank you so much! How about booking experience, the travel agency I’m with to pre book elsewhere is so expensive. Do they provide that there? I so want to see the Chichen Itzá.
Thank you I’m a new follower! 💃🏼
@natachalada welcome to the channel! I usually book through an agent like Booking.com. I don’t trust airline/resort packages. If the savings are too good to pass up, go ahead and book but ask for an upgrade when you show up. Sometimes a good “tip” to the front desk can get you a better room. It’s a big resort and they want your money.
Chichen Itza is well worth the day trip, however it is a long drive or bus ride.
Hi so I am planning a trip with my little kids to this princess resort. I am getting a platinum suite at sunset, but I am aware there is one at the Riveria side. Does it make any difference. Are they both the same.
@csss6806 there is no difference between the two resorts. You can access all pools and restaurants from either resort. The exception is the family club on the Riviera side is exclusive and caters specifically to young families.
@@PapaSteveOnTheMovedamn it wish i knew that when i booked
How can I make reservations for the restaurants?
You can use the mobile ap (QR code at check in) or the concierge to make reservations.
Going there in mid February
You’re going to have a great time! I’m so jealous!
How was it?
Im going in march
@@clotshotthot5750 very, very crowded. Soooo many babies. Impossible to get the chair on the beach. The sunrise was at 7:15. I went at 7 am-all first and second row seats were taken. Huge line everyday do get food ( buffet). Very difficult to book a reservation for a restaurant. Maybe it was so crowded because of the school break. Some workers were pleasant , some not so. Beach was beautiful, just too crowded. You can’t relax when people are next to your shoulder. The resort territory is beautiful- well kept. Wild animals are walking around. Rooms are old with musty smells, but shower and bathroom work well. Food is ok, nothing special, but fresh. House keeping is good. Overall it’s ok.
Some corrections needed to this review….
There are more than 2000 rooms if one includes the Yucatan Princess. Not 6-700 as reported.
It’s not ‘beware of the coaties’ it’s beware of the self-centred guests’ who feed them and choose to leave outdoors in corridors the room service debris for these animals to eat.
There is lots of shade to be had on the beach and at the pools but one does need to rise early to get a spot. Many selfish guests
hold spots at the beach AND the pools while not returning for several hours. My advice… watch and learn.
Wi-fi can hardly be called good. It’s tolerable at best. Often one will be locked out due to overload I expect.
Never have I witnessed smokey BBQ on the Riviera side. Its always on the Sunset side of the resort.
Sargassum is a problem here and everywhere else on the Mayan Riviera. The beach is rarely clear of it.
The shows are good if one enjoys such. I do not. Since Covid there is no quality live music at the resort.
Prior to 2000 there were different high quality bands playing every night of the week. Not anymore tho. My biggest complaint !
I have lots of good things to say about this resort. The aforesaid are simply corrections/clarifications to this review.
I will return.
Hi John, I stand by my review. I’m sure each individual has their own experience, good or bad, and mine is representative of my two visits to this resort. I don’t object to any of the data you’ve presented. Thanks for watching.
@@PapaSteveOnTheMove I thought your report/video was clear, concise and professional. Wish now I’d said that.
You were very lucky to see the beach free of sargassum. I’ve stayed at that resort maybe 10 times and seaweed was awful !
So I think people researching resorts/locations would like to know there’s a 90% chance the sargassum will be nasty.
I do have to laugh when I hear friends tell others they wouldn’t return to a particular resort ‘cuz the seaweed was bad, when in truth
every resort on that riviera would be the same. Some resorts do a better job of cleanup than others……you would know that of course.
Anyway, a pleasure to chat with you. I’ll be a guest at the Sunset Princess second half of Feb. See ya on the beach. Yuk yuk.
Ha, I was curious why I didn’t see any. I was est hung the sunrise each morning and nobody doing the typical raking of the sand. Perhaps just ocean currents. Thanks for the support!
Am going there in September hope it's nice am expecting a fantastic holiday there don't like seaweeds, I want sun and pretty beach, WiFi, cocktails and night club.
Have a great time!
