hi! I am 7 mo pregnant now and have my interview on tuesday in an ICU. I am wondering how the manager will be knowing I am pregnant and will need to take some time with my baby after the delivery. any suggestions in regards to this? Also are you on straight nights or do you rotate? How do you manage night shift and take care of the baby during the day? thank you in advanced!
Lauren Kelly hi! I was 6 months pregnant when I went to the interview and wore something loose so it wouldn’t show I was pregnant. Once I got the job I called my manager and let her know that I was due in a few months lol Since you’ll be new, they only give you 6 weeks for natural or 8 weeks off for c section. However, speak to your OB and have him help you out filling out those ADA papers so you can get an extra few weeks off. The hospital can’t fire you for that time off. It’s kind of rough managing night shift and taking care of a baby. I had to hire a nanny because if not I couldn’t sleep. 😖
