    I am from Uttar pradesh and have lived in various cities across north india. I visited chennai once and I fell in love with the city. I had gone for a conference. People are so helping and warm that initially u are taken aback, as I have usually been to north indian cities, and we are not so friendly. Chicken chettinad is the best chicken I ever had( Beats butter chicken kabhi bhi),do try. One should visit Amethyst cafe, sarwana bhavan and Dindigul Thalapakatti and hundreds of other places. Filter coffee beats star bucks any day. I am looking forward to the day when I visit chennai again.

Rahman, Shiv Mani, food, Chepauk, Music Season, Vishwanathan Anand, public transport, fixed movie tickets - there are a number of things that make me feel proud about being a Chennai-ite 8) Chennai the only city that tops in Organ Donations, True cultural capital of India, city with famous temples and historical places, 2nd longest beach in the world, mouth watering south Indian dishes, city full of opportunities and also the safest and peaceful city. :)

      no baby, I think first check the history of tamilnadu that why they don't speak Hindi.. there is some political reasons behind it since the independence. however you might be amazed to know that whole Mumbai 's 30% incomes from Bollywood only. so, Hindi is a language which contains all the credibility to be spoken in all. it's the some group of people who call their regional language to be the culture and all.cause they think that if they speak Hindi, their importance of Tamil and Marathi or let be any other regional language be diminished. but all of them should know that unless and until Hindi become necessary for all and all people of India started speaking Hindi, then the internal problems of India would automatically be less and we can be developed.

    • @gracemary9691
      @gracemary9691 Před 8 lety +23

      +VIKASH KUMAR firstly, not amazed.
      secondly, i dont agree to the fact that everyone has to know hindi in order for india to move forward.. its the mindset of people that need to change not the other minority lanuages in india.

    • @1toInfinity
      @1toInfinity Před 8 lety +1

      See, baby first check the history of Indian internal affairs due to regional language and all. Telangana be seperated from Andhra. The Hindi agitation in 1932,1968 and 1986 in Tamilnadu. And many more, I dont recall all of them right now. Since 1000 years ago, when India was not a country called Hindustan. They are divided like Delhi sultenat, Dravidian, Marathas, and vidharva . They had no connection among them..and then the English came and then put on divide and rule and ruled on for 200 years. If then all of state were connected and if all of them should have the one nation feeling at that time , then might be we would nt be ruled by the English. It s the core reason and if you see now a days, when there are multiple languages there is no problem the problem occurs when the people try to make the language as the base for the political use. They call Tamil Marathi Gujarati people. But excuse me, Marathi Gujarati or Tamil,telgu are not the case then why they ask for reservations and special seeker of govt subsidies. That's what I was telling there should not be any regionalism based on language. And the day when India become connected with one nation one language. Then India will be developed and we don't seek the help of other Vito's countries.

    India will be united as long as its diversity in religion, culture and language is respected left alone without any imposition. The day central government imposes any kind of rules on religion or language our country will start to disintegrate. I do not understand this statement " More than 60% of people speak hindi, so should all". Its like saying more than 80% of Indians are hindus, so India should be a Hindu centric country.
    English has become an universal language which helps people to grow in their career. We learn our math, science, geography in fact we learn our own history in English.
    When south Indians migrate to north, they adapt to their language but when its the other way there seems to be problem. I cant believe the amount of racism shown in the thread.

      If Tamil people can learn and speak English then what's the problem in learning and speaking Hindi ?
      I understand that its your choice to speak any language but both English and Hindi are non-native languages to Tamil Nadu, then why do Tamil people give more importance to English and not to Hindi ?
      Its better for all Indians to learn and speak Hindi because Hindi is the only Indian language (excluding English) which is spoken in many states of India and learning Hindi will be better for communication within India.
      Non-Tamil people don't need to learn Tamil because Tamil language is limited in South India and it will not be useful because Tamil speaking population is less compared to the entire population in India.
      If there are less languages in the world then more people can communicate with each other easily and if there are more languages in the world then people will have a difficulty in communicating.

      stuart little Brother the reason why we support Eelam is , they are also Tamilians and they are suffering a lot for being a Tamilian in Srilanka. They are also our brothers and sisters , wont u raise ur voice if ur brother /sister is harrased or humilited ?? The one good quality about chennai is we welcome all people from various states and nations and we wont put barrigates for anyone to enter here .

      as u mentioned above there is nothing similar r related with our culture, u should know that tamizh muslims r not outsiders they t converted muslims not like in northern india ,they r our brotherns that is reasond v dont have religious riots like rest of the country. and in war people die what ever u may say v will always support ,feed and will be affocinate to our brotherners in eelam period. and barath is word for hinduthuva lingufranka , v never say barath v mention india. this how v live and v dont change for other culural interference.
