I should have it out in the next month or so, so if you are subscribed, you'll see it come through, and it may help a lot! 😊
I mentioned to my dad he may want to brush his chihuahua's teeth. He decided to ask his vet's opinion. The vets response was " only brush the teeth you want the dog to keep". That summed it up nicely.
Lmao it always is so funny how awkward dogs get over things like this. My dog can’t stand when I do her teeth but I’d rather her be annoyed than have any issues. We only get them with us for so long, have to keep them healthy!
This is the most thorough and helpful vid I've found so far for brushing a dog's teeth. I've had to go through several to find something genuinely useful. Thank you!
I use a Sonicare brush on my dog. It's an older one that I'm not using anymore. It's takes a while to get the dog used to that noise and vibration, but it works so much better than a normal toothbrush, and I get it all done quicker. In fact, I don't even use toothpaste. I just dip the head in water a couple of times. It's the sonic action that removes the plaque.

Did you figure something out? My dog bites back hard runs away and everything and above he really hates it. It would turn into a wrestling match every time.
@@acjaxyz4930 so i did try it on my dog and he allowed himself the first couple times but then his body language was getting very uncomfortable and while my dog has NEVER bitten anyone ever, my past dog had bitten ppl so i felt like the body language was similar. Before i could risk it more (especially bc my current dog is bigger than my former dog) i had to stop it. I did learn that one spoon of coconut oil a day (or try to spare it around the teeth as much as you can, like maybe putting it amongst their food so they chew it) helps a lot with their teeth as it combats their bacteria!!! However look up how much is recommended for your dog depending on their weight/size AND if your dog is overweight you might not want to try it (due to the fats of the oil). I also try to just give him greenies like 1 a day or every other day
My dog doesn’t stay still like that. She begins to move her head all over the place like a angry bull trying to get a cowboy off their back. And snaps when she sees me approach w the brush😅
If his breath is really bad, you should have his veterinarian take a look in his mouth to see if he has advanced dental disease. The only way to do much about that is to have a dental cleaning and then keep up with brushing afterward to avoid tartar build-up. Having really full anal glands can also lead to bad breath. It would be worth a visit to the vet just to see 😊
Eww! Lol. Yep - this a good video for you! She could probably use some CET dental chews and Oravet Chews for clean teeth and better breath - those help too. Have you tried any of the chews that help prevent coprophagia (poop eating)? I know some people have success with them while others don't see any response. Just curious!

Great question! It’s totally dependent on your dog and how much oral upkeep you provide. Small breeds and dogs fed strictly canned food tend to require more dental cleanings but it can vary widely as genetics aside from maintenance also plays a role. If you brush your dogs teeth daily to every other day - they may never need a dental 😊 If enough time goes by in between brushings to allow for tartar to build up, (you can see it on the tooth) then it’s time for a dental cleaning. It’s all about the health of the gums and the buildup present. Your vet (or a tech/nurse) can also help you determine if it’s necessary or not. Many owners will plan for a dental cleaning once a year with dogs over six or seven that have okay to poor home oral habits. The more you brush and give those yummy CET dental chews, the less likely your dog will need one. Hope that helps! And I hope your pup loves the beef! 😊

There's a lot of information out there about Greenies causing obstructions but also information out there about Greenies changing their formula to better break down in the system now. It's tough to say and my default is always to go with a chew that I know will break down in the system if your dog has a tendency to bite off and swallow large pieces. I like Oravet chews, VeggieDent, and CET chews the most. Hope that helps!
Am I only one here to see how Sharp dogs teeth are
Does it Hurts them
Matthew Jimenez not at all! 😊 If done right, your dog should look forward to daily brushings! 🦷🐾
At first I was confused because when I brush my teeth it hurts my gums
My dogs keep closing their mouth and escapes 😐
My dog is a puppy and has never gotten her teeth brushed
Puppyhood is the perfect time to introduce teeth brushing! :)
