the ticking sound is from its piston valve or the cylinder or both.
That sound happens when there is no steam in the pistons and so you can hear that sound.
The puffing sound is so loud you cant hear the ticking sound.
I hope this helps anybody who was wondering.

Idea: have a long straight of track. Position a super class 47 next to a long line of trains. All the trains are programmed to go one way, you go the other way. How many trains does it take to overpower the super class 47.
