although the discussion resulted amicably, really disappointing call as a neutral spectator at 1:13:40 - bomber initiates all of the contact on that play. that would've been a turn in any observed/refereed game.

I so completely agree. Especially when on the same point, the Australian player effectively agreed to an uncontested foul that was far far less flagrant. The Canadian team should apologize if they have not already done so. Would they have won anyways? Maybe ... I don't know. But that's not the point. This game should have not been decided this way and the spirit of the game was undermined.

Completely agree. If I ever see that weasel Powell, I will tell him to his face. He deserves shame and dishonor for his wussy call, when HE initiated contact. The call 10 seconds earlier by Canada was also shameless. No contact at all when the tall man dropped the disc in his own end.

Really sad to see how this game ended. That last contested play should have been a turnover, and Australia would have had the disc with a chance to tie. Shame. Appreciate the coverage, though!

Really sad ending to a really great and competitive match. The last 3 fouls called were wrong and even the last score was wrong. The Canadians were getting nervous and stole that match.

Agreed. Hibbert's a cheat, too. Looked like no contact by Andrews. It's not "great to see a foul completely uncontested" when there was no foul.

If you play the sport, you'd understand that they were fouls and the reason Australia didn't contest them is because they understand the rules as well.

I agree with you on the fouls, but dude, the last score was clearly goal, everyone can see that

Have you ever seen an ultimate zone defense really work??? Australia does the best job I've seen from 22:00 to 25:00, but Canada holds onto the disc for 3 minutes and eventually scored on an easy huck. Zones suck.

I can work, but only if the wind too strong for the offense to throw well and/or far. Or if the offense doesn't know what they're doing. Clearly neither of those applied here :-)

Jake Redekopp The problem with that would be that you rely on wind or a bad team against you...
That’s not what you want for tactics.

No prior pivot since the stop in play, so he can pivot on either foot. Therefore no travel.

jomadbro according to WFDF rules, it's up to the player to decide which foot he wants to use as pivot. Therefore in this case, no travel.
