I bought Serato Sample about a year or so ago (from Sweetwater no less) when it was on sale for $50, but barely made any use of it at the time. I was still stuck on using the Regroover plugin because I got so use to it for stem separation, and was more addicted to that. But now that Sample has stem separation, I'm definitely gonna use it more in my future productions. And this couldn't have come at a better time, as I'm getting back into working on music again after taking a bit of a hiatus for a year or so! Perfect timing!

Did they improve the algorithm? Last time I tried stems it was terrible and sounded super spectral it was un usable, unless there's a setting I'm missing?

This is a hugeeee game changer. I definitely needed this. My only question is. I bought my Serato sample through splice. Do I get the update free as well, or would I have to pay for it since I got sample originally through splice ?

Yo imagine an analog device that could do this that you could connect to your record player and have it plug into your hardware sampler so you could literally import the stems into you sampler so you could just go ham

I personally wish they would, or at least FULLY integrate with NI so the software app can disappear on command. A full Serato Drum Machine would be optimal, though. Just make a better analog engine than everybody else. Compete with the older acai sound. 🫡

i use serato sample 2.0 on my macbook pro 14" with m1 max and 64gb ram within my mpc software. but everytime i use it, i hear crackle sound issues in my speakers which make SS2 useless for me. do anybody have the same issues and know how to fix that??

Hold on. Are you saying if Isample track with drums, guitar, bass, and vocals with Serato, it can enable me to manipulate any of these parts? Or is it limited to samples that Serato provides?

I don't know who the gentleman is but the guy in the yellow sweater is very good at explaining plus It appears to me he is using the Shure brand which are amazing monitor headsets

Hi, Mac! Thanks for your interest. Yes, you can control and automate most parameters in Serato Sample just like any other plug-in. The procedure for MIDI mapping and automating each individual parameter depends on which host DAW you’re using, but here’s a list of all the parameters that are available for the DAW to control (yes, the level/filter/attack/release knobs are included):

RipX can extract midi and change meody inside it, substitute instruments… Variphrase do it similar to melodyne/ableton 20 years ago and nowadays you have Tc helicon perform VE doing that vsynth extreme timestrecthing/pitchshifting even over realtime vocals…. and some free apps like Paulstretch has some of this extreme stretching (vst afaik)… free stems extraction on web or cheap iPad apps…. gamechanger gamechanger… for Serato users for sure but for the rest of the world not really…
how do you do the midi extraction with ripx ?!? Ive been tryna learn it but its hard to find a workflow
@@JrsonMuzik it has it over export but first when you open/rip a file you should select advanced not just “stems for djs” or “solo” then you have all the stem material. Then you have to work with layers and check if the assignation per instrument was properly done (left) if not, mute parts and select whatever to move it to proper layer (color). Once done you can assign instruments (internal and I’m not sure but also vst) on the right to each layer so you can check how it sounds before exporting to midi/smf but also just do the reworking (backing tracks) inside the program. It’s not chopping of course and Serato offers a great tool for beatmakers usual workflow but these details for covers or learning chords, change those chords (or vocals) by dragndrop like melodyne… mmm that’s what I call gamechangier even I done similar things 20 years ago with Roland VariOS ;)
Probably it should be a video for the RipX workflow somewhere.

There's nothing cutting edge about this. Just stuff you've been able to do for ages with RipX, Spectralayers, RX etc. and very recently in realtime with VSTs
A good update for people whose workflow heavily relies on Serato Sample, but restrictive and nothing new for everyone else.
Not to mention it's really for djs.if producers rip and sample then sell beats then they will have copyright issues. Pitching and chopping will help but it's better to actually produce unique melodies from scratch
