Brought a yeti 2 weeks back, and I think this video really influenced/convinced me to make that call. I drive a Innova/city and every time I drive yeti, can't stop smiling. Did an early service just now and the service costs are lower than Honda and they also confirmed that the car is in excellent condition. Super happy with the decision, thank you @talkingcars 🙏

What a coincident😅. I just saw a Yeti after a while today when I was driving in own car and I had stared that yeti and I slightly lost my control of my car😁and when I reached home and browsing internet I saw the notification of Talking cars about the car Skoda Yeti and I was more curious to watch the episode😍. Finally Vivekji and JD addressed a lot about the Yeti and I was still excited about it😍❤️

I still remember the day i took the official test drive of the Skoda yeti. The sales person took us to an abandoned piece of land and gave us full freedom to test it. He then showed what the car was capable of and it blew our mind away. Solid build, Forgiving ride even on those roughest terrains. Loved it!

Weirdly enough, my wife just noticed the Yeti this weekend and we were discussing it and while I knew the car, I had really no clue about it beyond that it was a Skoda from the 2010s. Thanks for this brilliant review!
My inlaws still have a 2011 model yeti bought brand new and he won't part with it. Run 1.54 lakhs and has had issues with the control module once and the parktronic display conked off too and also the parts have to be sourced from Czech republic. Except that, it has been flawless. Having driven it extensively, I can vouch for whatever u said and the only real issue is the driveability issue as it just won't drive over bumps in second or in crawling speed 😊 and has the tendency to stall easily amd can cause real bad issues for a new driver. But yeah, truly brilliant car.
Nice review . Waiting for this for a long time... Compact, powerfull and unique vehicle... Got lot of bells and whistles in its sleave... Even you can configure the vehicle for automatic parking... Level 1 tuning of this engine can give you around 185 Hp & around 390Nm power.. Compass is the only alternative for this in the current market... If you are maintaining the vehicle properly you can use it for a long time ... Mine is 10 yrs old and 125000 odo now ...

Haldex fluid change recommendation for this was originally 4yr/60k KM.
Abroad you can have the Yeti with 1.8TSI 4x4 and that was a brilliant combination.
Facelifted Yeti started using 5th gen Haldex while the pre-facelift had 4th gen Haldex.
5th gen Haldex is what is essentially underneath Tiguan/Kodiaq AWD models and similar aged Volvos.

Superb 3.6 4x4 uses the exact same system, every front transverse engine VAG for that matter (TT/Q3 Quattro among other models in India).

Yes the only reason we opted the Laura over Yeti was the absence of an automatic transmission.

The ticket holder on the Yeti was on the top right corner of the front windshield(not on sun visors) and that was unique at that time if I remember correctly ... not so relevant hihi just added ...

Oh, boy, as a proud owner of a 4x4 Yeti for almost seven years, I can relate to everything that you said about this car. After watching that helicopter video and reading some UK forums, I became a Yeti fan. Alas, I was so put off by the dealer at the time of launch that I bought a Linea T Jet instead. When Facelift version was launched, Linea's extended warranty was over and I went ahead and bought the Ambition trim. I have driven it to Leh, Kanyakumari, Bhuj, Bhutan, Goa etc from Mumbai and never ever faced any problem. Yeti was always a dependable and brilliant companion. I will NEVER sell it!

Is this a wise decision to buy a 4x4 1.93 lacs yeti 2012 model? for 4.5 lacs?
@@dilrajthevarkandy6483 I will stay away unless I know the seller, can verify annual maintenance records, and also Haldex oil and timing belt change every 75,000 kms, If you are keen to buy, better take the car to a Skoda service centre and get it checked thoroughly, particularly Suspension and Clutch. I dont about the price, but keep some spare change with you for repairs since the car has done 1.95 L kms...too much running in 9 years which include covid period!!

Wow, thank you for doing justice to this car. A proud original owner, post 90k kms, still does 25kmpl as well as 200kmph all very safely.
Service cost?
30k for 30000kms. 8-10k for normal, 12-16k for alternate . Major maintenance between 80-120k, around 1 lakh+ aakum.

I am used around 1.05Lakh kms with out any major maintenance. Every 15000 kms they have charged
only uae dhms. 250 only.

I quite liked the quirky looks of the Yeti. I realised it when I saw the facelift version. And I still remember the Jeremy Clarkson review of the Yeti 😂
Yeti was awesome. The rear seats(3 of them) come off in under 1 minute. That was not possible on my TJ or XJ. Off roading... nah. But was an awesome touring vechile for us. Yeti will get stuck in the beach as many including me found out. The haldex has a mind of itself. No diff locks. But on dirt roads and longish journeys. Was awesome.

In old topgear series i have seen skoda yeti as their camera vehicle
I think it was a bmw x6 review where x6 cudnt climb up a grass laden slope yl the yeti climbed cleanly and they explained its suspension is soo good sometimes it can put the british rangerovers to shame
No....in the x6 review the camera car was a range rover which easily climed up the grass slope. But in the actual yeti review jeremy drove the yeti and a range rover back to back on a grass track with a guy at the back getting a tattoo.
