- Exploring the woods of New Hampshire I caesura across a stone bridge out here crossing a river. No doubt it is from the colonial America days and was built by the settlers.. Well I went back out there today to see what else I could find and no doubt this is a lost road. Cart path, wagon trail and a road that lead from one farm to the other this is one. Soft shoulders on the sides embanked in some spots and three bridges in total I found. The forest is heavily overgrown after a couple of centuries and made it a bit difficult to connect all the pieces but I did for at least a mile. I was hoping to find a cellar hole where there would have been a house but I did nt. What I did see was rock walls cutting across the landscape showing us that people where doing something out here back in the 1700's . This was a great hike with exploring the New England History that surrounds us and lost out in the forests.

Over the river and thru the woods...only to find just another break in the wall. Three bridges later the quest conclude with a find of a penny. Now that is entertainment on a Not Thursday
Awesome, keep us updated on more finds in that area! 👍⚒️⛏️
💯
Charlie, the colonial detective. Three bridges stands for something. More clues and a penny for good luck. I’m with you on this one. Keep on keeping on with this Not Thursday adventure. Joyce ❤️🙏🇺🇸
Charlie, I am getting the feeling you are about to discover some long-forgotten history. And I am only too happy to be along for the ride.
While that’ll be a memorable hike. Amazing three bridges, gotta be something out there. Good luck and thanks for sharing Digger👍
When I worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a Cruiser, we would use red plastic tape to mark the boundary for future logging.
Even a Lincoln can be an example of "you just never know"? Fun adventure. Thanks for sharing!!!
I knew you would solve the bridge mystery. Great video 😊
Awesome day for you young man outdoors and having the best time for history 👍
He's lost he just doesn't want to admit it! Charlie take Wayno's into the woods with you.
Really enjoy these hikes
Enjoyed 👍
Thank you Charlie for the adventure , seeing some beautiful scenery and learning some about your area ! Howdy from Kansas !
That was a proper hike👍🏻
With all that glacial till around there, it might be a good idea to carry a gold pan. That river looked hot! I know I'd have to check it.😊
Truly wish I had places to explore like this ! But I guess I will do it threw your videos!! Thank you
I would think that detecting the road would give you answers to the many questions that you have . ( who was there , and what did they gain by putting all that work into making those bridges .) I think that all those answers could be answered by the things that you could possibly find in the road .
Gran lugar para la aventura y la detección amigo, éxito en sus hallazgos, saludos cordiales desde chile 🇨🇱🙋♂️🤜🤛💍🗝️⛏️👍
You have incredible knowledge about the New England rock wall systems. Would you consider applying your research and knowledge to a special describing the types of, sizes, uses, etc of the walls, road systems, etc of Colonial America? I watched another video from a university that I think clashed with what you present. They indicated that it was the sheep industry that started the wall systems. (??) It would make a fascinating video special. Thanks.
Keep searching for it you'll find it
I'm dying for you guys to do a overnight campout on one of these great sites that are such a long hike out there?
Charlie have you ever thought about camping out there for a couple days and searching around without the 2 mile hike every time.
You can go to the City hall , land office, and see if there records of homes.
Definately worth going back to. Happy swingin n diggin.😊
Cold down here in arkansas
Hi Charlie. Enjoy your channel, and I have a question. What is it you like about the Fisher line of detectors?
Good morning Charlie 😊
Don't you ever think of bringing the guys with you on these hikes , you walk the cart path and them in the woods looking for the cellar holes
Is there any brook trout in those streams or have you ever tried panning for gold
Are you going to swing your metal detector at all?
Do you use LiDAR for your searches of new (Old) structures to hunt?
Could it be an old turnpike or county rd? STR
Lol need a penny leave a penny.
Look for fire pits..
❤❤❤❤❤
Stone bridges are hard to wash away, maybe it was a Glacier that did all this damage?
Woof! Me thinks the bridge troll tricked you and left you a penny for your thoughts.
Reminds of a time in the back areas of okinawa, a stoned court area an I could just smell the old bronze coins from the 1600's and then I got that low bronze signal and just knew it and out pops a Buffalo nickel :)) had to be a coin dropped during WWII 🪖
