The middle 50% of this video is ADVERTISING!!! Not the beginning...or the end...but stuck IN THE MIDDLE OF IT! There was sooooo much of the advert that I forgot what we were watching! Smh
I thought the video was over
I think it’s only my 4 or 5 time that I dislike a video in the pass 7 years. Awful!
Funny how if theres one ad in the middle of a youtube video people go so crazy but when theres 5 to 7 ads in the middle of a tv show people are fine with it. Just my observations and its interesting.
@@DorianTMChannel A 1.17 minute uninterrupted commercial in a 5.34 minute video is 23% of the content. I dont mind sponsoring, but when its nearly a quarter of the video, thats an awful lot.
thanks for the heads up man
I flew this exact aircraft once (CDG-GIG). Unfortunately, it was still serving Air France - I would love to have been onboard the Ed Force One😁
cool
Tour management: Our 747 pilot bailed out of his contract!
Bruce Dickinson: Hold my mic!
Bruce: Scream for me Boeing
Plane: *engine noises*
😆😆😆😆
I'm freaked out because I watched a documentary about their 757 3 days ago and now you've released a video about the 747!
Great video! Just think you should've mentioned the 757, which flew for the company more than once (in fact I thought they always had the 757) and that the vocalist was also the 757's pilot as he is passionate about aviation
Disappointed for the ads in the half of the video...
I know like youtubers need to make there money somehows but I don’t pay £10 a month to get 40 second promos in my vids🥴
How in the hell did Iron Maidens lead singer become a licensed 747 pilot?
He was already an airline pilot just done his 747 rating. I have met him several times whilst he was operating for astraeus airlines flying in and out of Cardiff airport.
m.czcams.com/video/IKBABNL-DDM/video.html
He did a whole tv series called flying heavy metal ( i think) about all sorts of aircraft and he flew a 747 (from the right sea)then as well although i don't think he was type rated at the time. He flies for Astreaus a uk charter airline and also owns an aircraft servicing company based at Cardiff airport. Oh and still does a bit of singing as well ;)
Just like any other pilot does. Hundreds and thousands of hours in the sky and simulators. Worked his way up the 757. I think he's started his own charter company now also. And has credentials for 747 now
Well, certainly he does not do it for a living. Just for love of flying
Too much advertising and totally incorrect statement that the aircraft was specially modified to carry the band's ten tonnes of freight. Any 747 can carry ten tonnes of freight, and in fact can carry much more than ten tonnes of freight while still carrying several hundred passengers.
I think they maybe got confused with the previous ed force one a 757 which was converted to carry additional cargo, agree about ads insane !
Iron Maiden used to have a 757 right?
Yep
I’m just happy, it isn’t scrapped
I remember driving past Kingsford Smith airport (Sydney Airport) and seeing Ed Force One and I had no clue what it was. The next year I got into hard rock and metal and realized what I saw that day and I just gave it no thought
Where did it come from, where did it go? Where did it come from, Cotton Eye Joe?
Ed Force One: Butter
Passengers: Soft Rock Music
I’m freaked out because I just found my favorite aircraft!!! I’m working as a cabin crew in Air Atlanta and we are still operating for Saudia Airlines. I flown with TF-AAK on my last flight before the pandemic and i guess it’s been almost 5months the aircraft is grounded. Missing this Queen so much 😢
“Normally a Boeing 737 would suffice”
Shows a 737-200 with a gravel kit.
Ow wow 😂
Lol why do
I remember being at DTW and seeing this back in 2016!
The 747 retains its registration today TF-AAK and now flies for Saudia on behalf of Air atlanta Icelandic
Fantastic
I was working for Titan Airways at London Stansted the Ed Force one was parked there right next to the hangar and it was amazing lol

_Iron Jumboe_
Saw her yesterday at Cotswolds Airport, England. Engines missing apart from the cowlings. No livery.
Saudia Arabian airlines doesn’t have any passenger 747s
abe arnett . No, they lease them for a few months every year from Air Atlanta Icelandic.
@@infidel6728 I'm sure its to fly people in and out of Mecca doing the Hajj, as its only for like 1 week of the year so there is this huge crush of people trying to fly into/out of Mecca all at the same time. I bet Saudi Arabian airlines doesn't promote the fact that the plane they are using was flown by a bunch of infidels with songs about Satan and the occult lol.
I used to regularly fence with Bruce Dickinson. He told me about his passion for the sport as well as his flying.
Not one, but two adverts in this video. Nice.
DID HE JUST SAY TARMAC? just kidding, awesome video as always!
What a wonderful juxtaposition - Ed Force One - Saudi Arabian... just let that sink in... From Download to Mecca
EarlOfEasycore no
I was surprised they could fit all that stuff in that plane
Leased plane from AirAtlanta Iclandic. Refuelling that plane, Boeing 73F (TF-ABJ), I once flown with the owner of that company from Helsinki to London and back. Hitch hiking, see.
Saw it in Brisbane
Well, those 350 Icelandic football fans were just employees of Air Atlanta Icelandic flown on behalf of the company, so it wasn't really "chartered" as such for that flight. And the airplane was before, and still is, operated by Air Atlanta for Saudi Airlines
Always wondered what happened to Ed Force One. Now i know. .😩
Should have kept the livery - it was iconic and a selling point in itself….
Hopefully they can still come to Australia or reschedule it 😥
iron maidens lead singer a licence 747 piolot wow this is good.
I'm sure there were way better drinks when Iron Maiden was flying around in that Jumbo. Saudi doesn't even serve beer!
I thought saudi Arabian retired all of there 747s
A major touring group with a stadium-level setup and tight schedule usually has multiple stages, rigging, sound systems, crews, on the go at once. The Rolling Stones may be performing at a gig at one location with Unit A, while at the same time from the previous gig Unit B is being dismantled and trucked and Unit C is being setup and readied for their next gig. The musicians themselves would fly a smaller chartered business jet from gig to gig, accompanied only with family, key personnel and cherished favourite instruments.
1:57 is there something wrong with the front landing gear?????
No! It's one of the rare 737 equipped for gravel landing. You can spot it because of its old engines and the air spray ahead of them.
@@ambergris5705 in the same respect you can see that type of gear on other aircraft as well depending on their configuration and where they fly to. If I remember correctly you'd see that on a lot of rear engine jets since they were optimal to land basically anywhere within their own restriction. I wish we could see have gravel kits like that from the classic 73. It seems so simple from the eye but so complex from engineering.
Wish u had captions...
I remember Iron Maiden had a 757 but that was to small so they just bought a 747
They did not buy it, it was leased from Air Atlanta Icelandic.
Can anyone tell me the rego of the iron maiden 747 when owned by Air France 🇫🇷
It’s in the video
4:34 if you an aviation enthusiast you'll know why
Paraphrase: Oh, btw, the lead singer Bruce Dickenson pilots the 747. Moving on...yada yada
The plane only flew for 3 months of a 16 month tour?
is it still flying for Saudi Arabian Airlines?
Yes
If you read "what does this button do?" It tells you what happens to the plane
You can book a ticket on it today? Errr.... about that.
Did he used to be a commercial pilot?
He still is, flies 757's for Astraeus based in Cardiff as well as running his other aviation companies based there. Heaps of stuff on here about him.
You could write a horror movie about this hahahaha!
It was Swiss Air's fault and it was an 80 million dollar insurance cost.
"Tarmac"
.
I don`t like people with two jobs.

Only 30 seconds but ok
Considering I'm watching the video for free and have the ability to scroll through, I think it's alright...

most of this video is an add...
That ad roll was easily the worst I've ever seen. It butchered this video.
Wtf is up with the Ad in the middle of the video. Gave a dislike because of that.

@@SimpleFlyingNews "Great content" is not half a video of ads and mostly info you could read on Wikipedia in less than the time it took to watch the ad. Wish CZcams had an "ignore channel" feature, because I'm not inclined to watch anything else.
What if the Americans would have bought to transform it into Air Force with the Iron Maiden paint scheme, that would be wild, but so not the current POTUS.
This whole video falls into the broad general category of "Who Cares?"
Unsubbed.
