  • Resampling on the Roland S-760 is a great sampling tool for shaping sounds.

    I have the S-760, Mirage rack, MPC 3000 LE, MPC 4000, MPC X, SP-404 mkii and SP-1200. And tbth they all have their sonic strengths...but when it comes to drums I find myself reaching for the 760 & Mirage tbh 🤷🏾‍♂️

    The Roland S-Series has the best sounding artifacts when transposing. There is some serious magic going on in those machines.

    awesome. I have a 770 and recently looked at buying a 760 for $99 and waited too long missed it. 🙈. I already have a monitor from my 750 that will work. Highly underrated. We used to write entire tracks on my 770. 760 doesnt have the hardware on the back, but that can be overcome. Keep em coming.

      If you have a 770, you absolutely do not need a 760. The 770 is superior in every way except having 18MB sample memory vs. the S760's 32MB. The S770 and S750 have more sonic presence, and sound a bit grittier, in a good way. The S760 is cleaner but thinner sounding, with an audio engine similar to the MV8000/8800 workstations.

      Nacht Schreck I ended up getting an S-760 and unfortunately the flight case was damaged in the post. I believe it affected
      some things in the 760. Has some audio issues. I will never get rid of my 770. It is way too easy to use and make complete tracks with. I still use my MMT8 for scratch pad ideas and then dump into Cubase or Ableton.

    great vid, would love to hear more on the s760! also curious how you're running the monitor output... and what size screen are you using?

    Sshhh! was hoping to buy a Roland sampler from this era while they were still underappreciated. Now the prices are gonna go up hahahaha

    This is very specific, but I believe that sampler has a strings/cello section type patch I've wanted to identify for years. I can show where I hear it, but the artist(s) using it don't discuss the sounds they use, ever. I'd watch a sounds test of this sampler by you or anyone with the S-760 this instant. I've never worked with professional keyboard/samplers, but I enjoy the riffs and all around creativity of the artists who have ✔🎧

      What's up man!!! Thanks for reaching out!!! The S-760 doesn't have any sounds in it. I think the sounds that you're hearing are probably a string sample collection from either a 3rd party company or Roland themselves. I know that the S-760 was used for string sections a lot in the 90's but I don't know where the string sounds came from either.

      @@TheDaydreamSound Thanks again for telling me what you know. Despite my being unfamiliar with professional modules and workstations, I think I know now where the strings sound is! Roland JV 2080

    Hey just wanted to know your thoughts on the s760 versus the Asr 10 would you say this unit is comparable? I know it sounds clean but how does it sound if you sample a sound pitched up and transpose it down, do you get the classic colored sound like with a mpc or sp? Thanks good content as always

      @Abruzzo333 Před rokem

      ASR is capable of much more than the S-760. It has really nice effects onboard for starters.

      The Daydream Sound how do you compare the 15khz sound of the Roland S-760 to say the 15khz sound on one of your Ensoniq samplers? And then say to 15khz on the older 12bit Roland S-550 and or S-330’s?

    Any chance you could make a short vid showing how to sample, load, save on the s760 using disks? I have one but have no clue 😁

      Did you try the manual. When you buy these machines you will be consulting the manual often. Some people study it back to front.

      @@TheDaydreamSound well, it would be cool, the manual is kinda confusing, but the again, seems like my disk drive is not working anyway and I wouuld need to replace it with a USB floppy which seems to be complcated as. well 😅
