    To be really honest Pubby can resourceful but it can also be a downfall. Even though you are able to have your book read (verified reviews) which will cost more. Readers will choose your book not pay for it even when you request verified and give mediocre reviews where you know it was not read. This has been going on for months now. And the worse part is that reviews are being taken down by Amazon after a month or so after the review was published.
    Another problem is that most authors that are so call reading your novel will be spiteful and give you 3 stars if your work had more of a better ranking then them. Ive seen this happen to a lot of authors on Pubby. There are trolls on that site. Some authors are nice and honest but a lot just pick your books for the snaps they really don’t read your book. Its a great site if you want to up the number of reviews but don’t expect high quality reviews. You won’t get them there.

      Yes, I’ve experienced both sides ( good and the bad) with Pubby as you’ve outlined. I see it as an option for consideration now rather than a structure to implement when I launch my books.
      Well articulated comments and thank you for watching.

      @@MinoDM I have used Pubby on a few low content books and it’s been quite effective. They have to be ‘high quality’ low content books though where you have committed a lot of time to make them high value for customers, not just books you’ve spent 1-5 hours on.

    Is PUBBY and GET BOOKS REVIEWED another way to determine niches that are selling? Does a book we publish that receives good reviews carry any weighting with Amazon regarding the next book we launch ?

    • @globalselfpublishing
      @globalselfpublishing  Pƙed 2 lety +1

      You could possibly use them as Niche Research but just because they are published doesn't necessarily mean the author has completed the right niche research. The algorithm of Amazon is kept very secret but I suggest they would possibly promote those authors that have books that have sold very well a bit more than untried and tested authors.

    Is it worth investing in Pubby when creating and launching a low content book ?

  • @johnrichardson7394
    @johnrichardson7394 Pƙed 2 lety

    Hi Romney
    Great content, as usual, the beauty of your videos is that we, newbies, can dip in and find an answer to almost any of our KDP problems at the time they arise, but I have 2 that I cannot find the answer to and I am hoping you can advise me. Will Pubby work on a puzzle book? As I have just launched my first which whilst it is doing well on PPC, but at a very high ACOS of 147%, has sold 40 copy’s in 7 days and is climbing the rankings fast but has not got any reviews to sustain it once the PPC stops. I am in the fortunate position of being able to afford to lose money on the launch if that achieves the ranking needed to get up to page one or two and then look to recover that investment through the long-term sales. What I am confused about is what is the best way to use the advertising budget? Should I just put it all in to get as many sales as possible in the shortest possible time, or restrict it to a daily amount that will run out of budget most days, but prolong the time period that the campaign can run?

    • @globalselfpublishing
      @globalselfpublishing  Pƙed 2 lety

      Hi John. Thanks for the feedback. I've never tried a Puzzle Book on Pubby before and I can't see why you couldn't place it on the platform to get reviews? I've seen other books of similar ilk on the platform.
      The first 30 days are crucial for the long term survival and keyword placement of a book. The Amazon Algorithm collects a lot of data during this time so the more sales you can get in the initial 30 days is important. Your budget should therefore be based over the initial 30 days from when it goes LIVE and then re-asses after day 30 to see how its placed. I'm always careful when advising about budget spend and Amazon Advertising costs because my goals and targets for my books may be different to others and I would hate to think someone has blown up their budget by overspending too quickly.

If I have an Italian amazon account I can't enter Pubby?

    • @globalselfpublishing

      Thanks very for question. Yes, an annoying part of Pubby is you need an Amazon.com account. My Australian one doesn’t work so I understand your frustration being from another country. I just created a .com account for my online purchases.
      The books that I have used Pubby for have been Low Content Letter Tracing books as an example. I wouldn’t consider them ‘Low’ rather ‘Mid’ content books that people are happy to review based on the quality and value I provide. Sometimes I spend weeks on them so the quality is high. Definitely don’t use for no content books and only coloring books if they are super high quality.
