    I'm gonna be honest here, this is the first video of someone from Korea ( or an Asian country in general where beauty standards are very different from where I am and a bit more strict ) that talks about dieting and losing weight that didn't make me sad all the way to the end. I love how you learned from your mistakes like restricting yourself from certain foods so much that you end up binge eating, and instead found a balance and lost weight in a healthy manner. Thank you for sharing!♥️

      @victoria.xseven7913 Před 11 měsíci +4

      I think the body knows when it's starving so that's where the binge eating comes from...I think it's possible to be slim or thin without constant continued starvation and without obsession.

    • @definitelynotawitch
      @definitelynotawitch Před 11 měsíci

      @victoria.xseven7913 some bodies run heavier than others, so some people's ideal healthy weight doesn't look slim, which is perfectly fine too.
      Just saying this because I have struggled with it all my life

    • @victoria.xseven7913
      @victoria.xseven7913 Před 11 měsíci +3

      @@definitelynotawitch Can't see anything in my comment which says slim or thin equals being healthy automatically. 🤔
      Slim and thin can be healthy or unhealthy, same as other body shapes can be healthy or unhealthy.
      The person themselves would know if they are healthy or unhealthy, which is probably why I said "the body knows when it's starving" and I believe this can apply to people of all body types if a person would eat junk food or "constant diet" or oscillating between, it could create binge eating....starving for nutrition!
      My comment was about binge eating and health not about a particular body type really.

    This is similar to my experience! I was always the fat kid and teen. I had alot of starve-binge phases where I lost weight and then regained it again. Eventually I stopped and decided to just eat and not care anymore. After a few years I stepped on a scale and it showed the highest number I have ever seen (92kg/202lbs) and this number told me that I was officially obese now. I wanted to cry. But it also gave me the last push to start a weight loss journey. I learned from my past mistakes and decided to do it differently this time. I don't exercise because I hate it and I'm lazy. I love going on walks though. All I do is eat in a 500 calorie deficit. I fill my calorie intake with whatever foods I want. Some days are very unhealthy where I only eat sweets but still have a 500 calorie deficit. It's so easy. I can eat whatever I want it's just... less. And more controlled. At first it was difficult because my stomach was stretched out and needed huge amounts of food to be filled. Now it has adjusted and I can actually eat normal sized portions without feeling empty. I also stopped a bad habit of overeating until my stomach hurt. I started around 6 months ago and am now 78kg/171lbs. It's slow but very maintainable (I lose ~2kg/4.4lbs per month). I could eat like this forever. I'm still overweight but I know if I continue like this I will eventually get to a healthy weight.

      @@Greenlleaff No, I eat in a 500 calorie deficit. My current TDEE (this is the energy your body needs to neither gain nor lose weight) is around 1800-2000 cals without exercise so I usually eat around 1200-1500 cals. This means I'm in a deficit of ~500 cals everyday and 3500 in a week. You need to be in a deficit of 7500 cals (through diet or/and exercise) to lose 1 kg/2lbs. So theoretically I'm losing 2kg/4.4lbs per month. This obviously varies a bit, sometimes it's a bit less and sometimes a bit more. Bodies aren't machines

    To all the young people out there, you are still growing. Your body is still growing and developing. Its completely okay to have a little more fat than the "average", and its completely okay to be a little skinnier than the "average". Dont be average, be you. YOU are beautiful. Beauty isn't just being skinny, or having a big butt, no. True beauty is taking care of your mind, body, and soul. Love yourself, and be confident. Confidence is one of the most attractive and empowering feelings. It makes all the difference. Stay healthy, live happily, and love yourself and others. This the key to TRUE beauty. And being a stick isn’t great as well (as I was 15 kg underweight, I finally start to gain weight after decades of struggling as well with anorexia) if you’re healthy and not in the danger zone and you’re happy, stay that and don’t go after what all the people think is a standard, you are you and you’re unique. It also has to do with the ethnicity too. Asians are more at risk of health problems and have to weight less than Europeans for examples. The standards are different. For Asians, a BMI that exceeds 23 is unhealthy. It also depends of course on your body type, etc.

      @ishita7320 Před 4 lety +132

      It also has to do with fat distribution. In asian bodies fat tends to show up on the face a lot. So even if you gain 1-2 kg people might be able to tell from just your face. This isn't a problem with other races as 1. Their fat doesn't normally go a lot to their face and 2. If they've only gained enough to show up on the body and not on the face they can cover up by wearing oversized clothes/black etc. Given the fact that weight show's easily on the face + the whole "small faces are beautiful" beauty standard results in people going extremely skinny on their bodies just to keep their face small/thin

    just saying: guys, skinny doesnt always equal healthy. and that is what matters. do your research first, and always remember that you're beautiful JUST the way you are. if you are looking/trying to get a change in your body, make *sure* you do it for your *self* and not for someone else or because of someone else. take care of your body. it houses many, many organs in your body. :))
    edit: yall are going CRAZY in the comments. first of all, I want to address that this is *just* my opinion, it could be different than yours, so please dont attack me. second of all, *ALL BODIES ARE BEAUTIFUL* it doesnt matter if you're fat/skinny. third of all, *FAT DOESNT MEAN HEALTHY, NEITHER DOES SKINNY* fourth of all, *again, i tell you to take care of your body, so you become healthy* fifth of all, *your weight/size DOES NOT account to whether you're pretty or not.* people now a days think you have to have a SiX iNcH wAiSt or you aren't good enough. no! thats wrong. so, do your research, meaning, find out what the healthy weight/size for your age and gender is. either way, you shouldn't be hard on yourself because you *ARE* pretty. if you want to do a body change, then gurl, do it! its completely up to you. also, i want to say that people will do mean things even if you're skinny or not. it doesnt matter for them. but that shouldnt matter to you either! yes, its hard when you get bullied, but you gotta remember that you're beautiful in your own way, and it doesn't depend on what OTHERS think! you can change yourself, and work on improving it, but thats up to you. (and remember that you should still be healthy!)
    edit: ty for 1.2K likes!
    edit: ty for 1.7K likes! ok, so, in the reply section, I noticed that some people are attacking me because they disagree with what I've said. It is *ok* to have a different mindset than mine. I just wanted to add to the clear message that all bodies are beautiful, although you should still try your best to become healthy in the best ways possible. I would also like to say that I only mentioned "skinny" because thats what people want normally. However, skinny isn't always healthy. So, just do your own research and find out whats best for your body. (im not saying skinny is ugly or fat is ugly, all bodies ARE and will ALWAYS BE beautiful, but still, try your best to be healthy.) thats all I wanted to say. thank you!

Do you see the whole kpop industry, you see any of them is fat ? Not really, if you want to maintain good image to fan, you need to be skinny. I'm not the skinniest person either. I understand the struggles. That's why I'm trying to workout and stuff.

    I was 13 years old when I started to lose weight. The fact is that my parents loved to feed me something harmful: pancakes, dumplings with sour cream and sugar, sweets, chips ... I was an active child and did not look fat. But at that moment it seemed to me that I was fat.
    I began to eat very little, only fruits, yoghurts, berries ... I ate very little protein. I lost 5 kg in a month, but I looked very bad.
    After that, they took me to a doctor and found dystrophy.
    I gained weight back and started playing sports. Everything was fine for 4 years, but ...
    I wanted to lose weight again. I fell in love with a guy who was below me. I wanted to look fragile ... I lost 20 kg in 6 months and became anorexic (height 177 weight 41). My hair was falling and my nails were breaking! My face was scary, but my body ... I don't even want to remember ... I was in the 11th grade - this is the time when everyone is preparing for the State exam. I had a choice: gain weight and graduate from school, or leave.
    I chose health.
    They fed me very hard. I gained 20 kg in 1.5 months! I felt terrible ...
    I got depression and bulimia. A year later, I already weighed 82 kg. Needless to say, I did not fit into any of my things and felt ugly?
    Now I have been losing weight for 4 months. I eat a lot of proteins and train, the result is - minus 10 kg. I became more confident and stronger.

    I was never thin ever since I was a kid. I reached my highest weight when I was in highschool (108 kg). Peoples would often look down on me or buly me for being fat, even my own family was often fat shaming me. So I decided to go on extreme diet. At that time, I would go to school without eating anything and I would only eat when I went home (3 pm). I only ate 1 meal a day and it only consist of 1 apple or a small plate of steamed veggies. I became obsessed with my weight to the point that I would weight myself before meal and weight myself again after meal. If I saw that I gained weigh too much after meal (which is likely, who doesn't gain weigh after eat?), I would try to self induced vomiting. I lost 23 kg in my first 2 month. I became greedy so I went on and I succeeded to loose more than 50 kg in just 7 months. But it became really bad for my health, I started loosing hair, anemia, easily get tired, I couldn't even run 1 lap of basketball court. I did think that I had a bulimia, not to the point of anorexia thankfully. Now I'm already 24, and I'm already so much better. I don't do extreme diet like that anymore, but sometimes when I feel like I ate too much, I would still vomit. I just couldn't help but feel guilty if I feel full. But thankfully not in every meal. What I could tell is bodyshaming is one of the thing that always trigger me and it made me has a low self esteem and went gaga everytime I heard someone said that I gained weigh. I don't know why people could casually said something like "did you gain weight?" or "did you loose weight?" so easily, like it was a greeting everytime we meet someone. Why people have to comment wheter we gain or loose weight? I hope that people would stop bodyshaming someone, especially their own family. Because it's bad for their mentality.

      Actually, no,you are not perfect the way you are. We all were created in beautiful and balanced bodies and this is when we were beautiful - the way we were meant to be. And then we started eating, putting the weight on - and that's rolls of ugly fat, so not - that's not beautiful, that's disgusting and believing that you are beautiful in any body is just an excuse not to work on yourself. And I am saying this as a girl who was slim, then overweight, then obese, then slim again and now overweight again - but finally I am out of this illusion of being beautiful in a fat body and that truth gave me strength to start working on my body again and loosing weight to get back into my beautiful body, how it was meant to be.
      P.S. also being overweight or obese causes tremendous stress on your body - on all your joints, spine etc.

      Also, weight training can be beneficial as the muscle will burn calories after the training is done to repair itself. It is important to eat protein. With weight training it might take a bit longer to see results on the scale, as muscle is heavier than fat, but you will be leaner and more toned than if you simply lose fat. I did that while eating healthy and lost around 10 kg. Unfortunately I gained some of it back after i tore my ACL, but I am back on it now, so hopefully i can lose the extra weight while also growing stronger to support my knee.

      127 must be your bodies natural set point. I recommend calculating your body without any fat at all to see how much you would weigh. Or buy a body composition scale. It will give you an idea of how much fat you could lose and stay in a healthy percentage of fat. Everyone's body is different. For my body in particular I can't go under 107 lbs. That would be my body without any fat at all. Just muscle, bones and organs. So that would be able to put things in perspective on what is a healthy range of weight that you should be in.

It bothers me but not so much as people tell me they like my body but I still decided to take advantage of the quarantine and lose weight. It took a lot of motivation but I did it the healthy way by exercising and watching what I eat. I’m 70kg now after 5 months of exercise. I achieved this first by setting my mindset that choosing to be healthy and fit should be a lifelong goal not something I can achieve in 3 days and not punishing myself. I've been self conscious about my weight ever since I was a young teen. I was constantly depressed because I was chunky and I was chunky because I was depressed and unmotivated. I was always trying crazy diets but even if I lost weight, I would just gain it back quickly. My dad always says that diets don't help that much, being healthy and fit is a lifestyle that you need to adapt to. You don't need to starve yourself or workout until you can't move. I think you're right when you said that eating habits are more important than exercise (although working out is amazing for you too). I'm doing good right now though, I'm eating healthy, ( although every once in a while I cave and get a treat haha) and I'm going to the gym 5 days a week plus walking 10k a day. That may seem like a lot but I don't have a car so I walk everywhere. I'm 18 and since today I'm 125 lbs,(when I started I was 135 I believe) I'd like to lose more since I'm only 5'4 and carry weight more in my thighs. The biggest help for me is having a goal to remind yourself of when you feel like giving up. For me, it's a healthy body, lifestyle and mind.

      @JJT 07 Well I'm definitely not an expert on health, but I try to stay away from the known "no-nos" like bread, too much dairy, fried foods, sugar, stuff like that. I'm also lactose intolerant so I use almond milk for pretty much every thing. I find when I drink a lot of milk, even skimmed or 0%, I gain a little weight. But I just learned that almond milk , depending on the brand can have more calcium than regular milk! I'm not "officially" a vegetarian but I rarely ate meat, and if I do, grilled chicken is probably the best for you. Protein shakes are awesome when you want to feel full but don't want to over eat. Smoothies with greek yogurt are yummy. OH and sweet potatoes are SUPER healthy for you so I eat those a lot. Overall, sticking to all natural, homemade food is what does it for me, fruits, veggies (stay away from regular potatoes, very starchy) nuts and little bits of chicken are all on my regular menu, but everyone is different, so it might be different for you. And I got to the gym 5 days a week and focus on cardio which is the best for weight loss. Also I'd like to note that I am not losing weight super fast like a lot of these videos. But I am losing it. I'd rather lose weight in a couple weeks and be eating well than losing it in 4 days and almost starving myself. I'm not sure how this lady did it haha.
      I recommend looking up something called a "juice cleanse" if you have a juicer. It's amazing for you.
      But anyway, I'm sorry for the whole bible verse haha. I hope this helped a little bit. I do recommend doing some research on the best kinds of fruits and veggies (and food overall) for weightloss as some are not as great as others. Remember not to snack, snacking is the reason I had to start losing weight in the first place haha. If I think of anything important I'll reply again

      @JJT 07 One really great thing I've learned is that some things, even though they're healthy, can be fattening if you eat too much. I love avocado, I was eating it constantly before I found out it's what people call "a good fat". You need good fats in your diet, but in small amounts. Just don't be having avocado toast for every meal haha
