why do you hear the amplified voice and not just his voice, cause, like why would you need amplification in your living room. It sounds odd.

Probably because acoustics are pretty loud and David’s vocals in the mix isn’t usually very loud anyway, so to be heard over the guitar, vocals need amplification.
