Are Cheap Aluminium Brazing Rods any Good?

    having the part on a vice is metal to metal and the vice is consuming the heat so it will take longer to do the job.

    For something like that which is not exposed to Temps above 300 degrees Celsius, you could use lead free electrical solder as a cheap brazing material. It is decently mechanically strong for a simple use like this one.

      @@MakeithappenDIY sweet! I am curious too. Based on an older Matthias Wandel video I saw about testing the aluminum braze joint strengths I would bet it will be ok, but relatively weak to torque (twisting/rotating) forces and fairly strong with sheer (parallel pushing/pulling) type forces.

    Jigsaw blades "kick off" they bend and struggle to cut a true straight cut
