'How stupid I was in politics' - Musa recounted 'naivety' as DPM

- Former deputy prime minister Musa Hitam recounted the story of how he became an enemy of Dr Mahathir Mohamad when both held the country’s top two executive posts 35 years ago.
According to Musa, he became very upset when Mahathir appointed Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah as an industrial and trade minister.
This was because while Musa had wanted to sideline the Umno leader from Kelantan, Mahathir had instead taken Razaleigh, better known as Ku Li, into his cabinet.
Musa told reporters when met during the launching of a memoir authored by Ku Li titled “Ku Li: Memoir 205”.

Tun, as l already said, u r not dumb or stupid, the only problem with u is that u r too honest, too principled, too dignified, not manipulative ( roti canai ) too vocal, too truthful, not greedy n most importantly, u r not ruthless. U r not like the Chinese Emperor : either u drink the poisoned wine or the guillotine. When the helicopter carrying Tun M n yourself landed in Segamat after u became Deputy PM, my friend beside me told me the 2 M had arrived. I told him there cannot be 2 M. Why, he asked. Very simple because the latter got no M ( money ) Divide n Rule had always be his tactic. U worked so hard to defeat Tengku R n he purposely elect him into the Cabinet to anger u. Not brilliant but foxy. Whether u became PM or not is immaterial but l think your PRINCIPLE n DIGNITY is more important than anything else which will be remembered. What a great Statesman n politician n may be the best PM our country ever had. A big SALUTE to Tun n may God bless u a healthy n happy life.❤ from Segamat.

Sedihnya, generasi sekarang dan generasi akan datang tidak akan tahu nikmatnya kurniaan bumi Malaysia dengan ladang tebu( gula murah), ladang getah( tayar, tilam, perabut macam macam lagi), Jelapang padi( tak perlu impot beras), ladang-ladang buahan, kebun-kebun sayuran dan lain lain lagi.
Yang ada sekarang bangunan- bangunan indah yang perlukan kos tinggi untuk jaga.

thats why its called politics. politics is everywhere even in workplaces. so? if ure naive, bringing you down or removing ur presence is an easy peasy thing for big crocodiles. and the fact is, its too late dy for for tun musa for realizing this. maybe he's not worthy enough to be in this battle. thats why people like paklah and ismail sabri also easily can be removed just like that. look at the intense battle among tun, anwar, najib and muhyiddin for decades, and its never ending, even najib still battling from inside the prison.. the presence of intense battle says alot that it takes alot to become another warlord.. but i gotta respect tengku razaleigh cs atleast he went all out in the 80s and 90s to become an intense competitor to tun.

Yes indeed he did fight hard n nearly won but unfortunately some incidents denied him the title(PM) caused of some stupid sign of a Christian salif,maybe he is not born to be a great leader such as Malaysian PM,, really a pity,,eh,,,

Just lamentations of an ex politician. He could have joined forces with Semangat Party to put up a fight and played a long game to garnish support from citizens who cherish true democracy as opposed to dictatorship of a regime. The course of political history could have been changed for all instead.

Ekonomi skarang ok je, prestasi bursa saham di tahap terbaik skarang ni, RM je la yg masih lemah, tu pun sbb kerajaan tak naikkan OPR sedangkan US dh beberapa kali naikkan OPR dri tahun lepas sampai tahun ni.

If U have to ask then U don't know much about politics in Malaysia. Ku Li formed Semangat 46 but Musa did not join. Anyway Semangat 46 did not really succeed and died a natural death.

During Mahathir's era, we were ahead of most ASEAN countries. We have to be realistic. It is only in the last 10 years that we have lost against other ASEAN countries and it is all due to instability in politics. We wanted democracy to run it course.. thats why we lose out. No other country in ASEAN that has changes in political leaders more than us apart from Thailand perhaps. Thats why the 2 most affected countries in ASEAN are us and Thailand. Look at Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodian Singapore. Are they really democratic? Singapore has been the similar government since independence day. Thats why they can grow well. Every foreign investors want to invest in a country that has no volatility in politics. We created this mess ourselves. We have changed government like 10 times over the last 10 years. Because we think this is the right thing to happen. So my question is, are we now better of? Think about it

In sg, our late LKY had enacted the law as what we called it a "Racial Harmony law". Anybody who causes any racist issues and perogative tensions among races, will be thrown in jail. That's it. Period!
Fyi, late LKY had cultivated and educated the children right from primary school. Every time during hari raya, Chinese New Year, Vesak day and Christmas, the school children are strongly encouraged to wear other race traditional costume to school to symbolise one united people and respect other races!
