Btw the reason I didn’t attempt to remake the drums, despite having the original sample, is that no one including myself has been able to remake the drums even remotely close to the original. I didn’t want to destroy the integrity of the remake by using my crappily remade version so I opted for just using the drum break from the song. This is why I do the little demonstration at the start though. 0:26 to skip to remake
some criticism: -Steppenwolf doesn’t start and end at the exact same time as It Keeps You Running; it plays just slightly after but they still end at the same time (i messed this up in my own remake so) -Jisco Dazz is layered with 909 drums -Tell Me To My Face is just a little bit flat -South City Midnight Lady is cut off like right before the bar line other than that it’s a very good remake, not very often to see remakes as accurate as this
- yah i had realized that in the middle of the remake but I forgot to copy it throughout so it happens once lol, although I thought Stephen wolf played slightly earlier - pinned comment! - 👌 - ah ok
It's crazy to think that the original tune was made a decade ago. And thanks to computers getting a lot more advanced, we can just completely reconstruct/remake tunes like this. Someone else even made a good remake in Ableton, but seeing it here in FL Studio is pretty cool as well.
@@esicleneYeah, thats true, but think about it. Sampling had been a thing for a few good years in the 90s on computers, it was just very resource intensive on those. So doing this kind-of stuff was probably out of the question. (unless you're looking at tracker music, cause there are a few good ones out there.)
Sounds pretty accurate to me. The only thing I can hear that's off (besides some of the mixing), is that you overlapped the Firefall and Boz Scaggs samples twice. It only happens in the first bar, the second is just Boz Scaggs.
In my case I would go with Frontier Psychiatrist from The Avalanches That song is magnificent and the variety of the samples presentes and how they manage to connect each one of them is out pf this world
You should check out anything by Todd Edwards, that’s his sound and why Daft Punk drafted him in to do the sampling on this track. He’s the sampling god! Plus he wrote and sang the vocals too. Some of the sampling on his tracks are mind blowing.
This is crazily well done! One of my fav tracks from DP, and I only year a minor difference in the "Christopher" sample and the Twins theme is more pronounced (maybe louder? Idk for sure).
Yo question: was there any effects you put on the evil woman sample? I'm tryna remake the song myself, but the ELO sample is the only part that sounds off Love the remake btw 🔥
There’s none! You just have to be really careful with the timing. I mostly see people messing that but up. Also make sure you’re using the right timestamp!
I've been in a Face to Face hyperfixation, and I was wondering if you could share the FLP so that I could make a version of this, similar to Nickster's version where he used newer samples.
I don’t know if you knew but actually the synth bass patch comes from the dx7 and it’s called lately bass. It was used on a lot of house tracks of the 90s and it was available on a lot of other digital Yamaha rack mounted synthesisers.

Just speed it up by 0.01s (may be by 0.1s) and it will be 99.99% accurate.
Lay the drums down with LinnDrum samples & 909 kick and you will get a similar sound, 99.9% accurate
The drums use the TR-909
@@CandiedC But the snare doesnt sound like the 909 one, the face 2 face sounds more real, I also notice the attack being similar to the linndrum one
The fact they were able to make "Christoper" sound like "Face to Face" is the craziest part of this editing.
Sounds more like Mr Burger
if you hear closely it all sounds like it says "you are, face to face now"
@The_Paradoxx I always hear you are, Mr Burger.
it doesnt sound even remotely close to "face to face"
I can't unhear it now 😅
The fact that youtube claimed the video as having face to face in it says it all lol. Nice
Shazam recognises it as well
so accurate you got a copyright claim

What do you mean by the Tell me To My Face sample was flat? How could he have made it not flat? (genuinely curious)
@@aakashmayadev1981 by flat i mean it was pitched down too low in comparison with the original ftf

you mean two decades ago
Actually working with hardware samplers the workflow is WAY different than ableton
It was released in 2001, man

Bro you’re right on the money. I listened to them side by side and it’s truly amazing what you have accomplished! Well done
this is such a good daft punk song, definitely top 5
this might be the best remake of them all ngl
The remake is so precise that youtube flaggled this video using Face To Face 🤣🥰

Oh my goddddd no way
NOW I HAVE TO CHANGE THE TITLE
This has to be considered the best sampling of all time, I can't think of any other song honestly
Agreed
shook ones pt.2 is one of the best samples
In my case I would go with Frontier Psychiatrist from The Avalanches

Did not actually expect the almost identical opener after the intro drums. 😮
THIS IS SO GOOD!
This remake is done amazingly man, great job
best remake i've heard so far! good job
"Good Faith Forever"
you're the best
This is so amazing, and I didn’t even realize some of the samples in it were from some of my favorite artists/ songs. Thanks for posting
you know it's good when it gets copyright claimed
-MacBack on the other face to face remake
This is incredible, you did an amazing job. Thank you :)
This is amazing! Great job ^^
Incredible job, what a tune
apple music recognition says it's Face To Face. Great job! Keep it up.
Amazing, incredible how you got all the samples in and had to edit the samples, bravo
THIS IS PERFECT LITTERLY THE TRACK U ARE AMAZING
this is insane, Im a huge fan so daft punk, so being able to see how it works is crazy...

MASTERPIECE!!
Nice! You did it best as remake!
insane bro, well done
Personally one of my favorite sampled songs by Daft Punk. Excellent job remaking it! Very much identical to the original!

Not gonna lie. I didnt even hear the flute near the end of this song until i saw it brought up in a video about this song

impressive, is there a discord community for remkes?
I wish but I don’t think there is

nice project
This is fucking sick man have all the samples been found already? And it’s just the challenge of recreating it perfectly?
Yep, working on a sample breakdown as we speak!
willl you link the FLP?
Bring up the high end on the drums, mainly the hat, and it's golden
The drums are ripped directly from the song and I didn’t put any processing on it so it should be 100% correct 🤷♂️
Please make a video about the samples as well.
I’ve actually been working on one!
Sounded like the instrumental version
Respect to Todd 'Jesus' Edwards! 😁
flp able? or stems please?
Can u provide the flp or project file?
Should’ve recorded yourself or got someone who sounds like Todd Edwards to cover the vocals lol
