    I saw a used 2006 Grey hawk that was a turned in at the dealership to be cleaned up before being re-sold. It had all the tires replaced. It had less than 26K miles. I was the first customer to get a walk thru while it was parked in the service area of the dealership. The attention to detail was outstanding. I asked the salesperson questions and I know that if I need to find out a true answer to my questions, I need to find them in the specs.
    As far as the question you asked about the refrigerator, I believe 12VDC is the way to go. I also have to say that the 30Amp is better than having to try and find a 50Amp site.
    I want to thank Josh for making this video.

Darn, I wish I could do business with you (but being from Canada (Montreal)) I’m not so sure it could be doable. Bummer! Truly!! Always good to see things being well built by our neighbours south of the border !!! The Melbourne prototype: WOW! The Leisure Van Wonder Rear Lounge is one of the most epic small rv's out there. So popular they have a 1 year backlog on orders the last I heard. I couldn't believe nobody else was smart enough to copy it. AH! Somebody is! I do prefer it being built on the Ford Transit chassis like Leisure does (MUCH more powerful twin turbo engine, All Wheel Drive! Gas mileage is close to what the diesel Mercedes chassis gets, yet fuel cost is much lower as is maintenance). -------- THANK YOU for showing how the Greyhawk front cap works! IMO, that design is a huge reason to go with this vs other brands due to the lack of seams on edges to leak. I always wondered how it was designed/installed. Also, the fiberglass roof is a much have because campgrounds typically have low hanging trees, and those branches do a number on those rubber roofs. Great job as always Josh. Thank you for all you do for the community.

    No emphasis on the way the exterior walls are built. Some nice people think there are no studs in them. There are studs, aluminum ones, more difficult to locate on your own.

    YES to 12 volt fridge! Coupled with appropriately sized solar panels and battery bank, in what way is that inferior to a lower performance propane powered absorption fridge? I’d save the propane for the furnace and run the fridge from the sun (with backup power provided by generator charging batteries periodically, if/when necessary). I recently contacted Jayco suggesting they should consider offering this option on their class Cs, but received a more or less canned response of “We don’t offer that option”. Love to see that in a Redhawk 26M (one of my favorite floorplans). Thanks for the tour.

    12v refrigerator is the way to go. It avoids extra cutouts in the sidewall and roof if it is properly roof vented.
    The 12v system has greater internal space for more food, more efficient, cools/freezes faster and to lower temperatures.
    Also, in the winter a 12v refrigerator saves LP for furnace & hot water heater.

    Thank you for this. In my due diligence prior to buying....and looking at Jayco Redhawk 22C-SE... you made it all very real. Thank you. Amish in Middlebury as the builders? DUH. For that alone Winnebago and others go bye-bye.

    I'd like to see the finished product of that rear lounge with the Murphy bed. Leisure travel vans and Sonic Travel trailers do a great job with similar floor plans. What would be the price of a C like that?

      Not sure on pricing. My job doesn’t really intersect with that regularly oddly enough
      I leave that to the sales teams. I’m not sure if that info is actually even available since the rv isn’t in live production yet
      But one of our Jayco motorhome stores should be able to give you a reference off another Melbourne sometime

    YES I absolutely want a 12v fridge!!!! I plan to have the two way fridge removed and replaced with a 12 volt fridge on a brand new unit!!! Why? They get so much colder, they cool down so much faster, they are so much larger!, no fire concerns.

  • @bruderbro907
    @bruderbro907 Před 2 lety +2

    Jayco needs to start offering 12v fridges! We have had ours for awhile and it is great. Bigger inside, cools faster, no wholes in the skin and we can run it on the road off the battery with the propane shut off. Not sure why they are "waiting"

      That's a redhawk 24B. It's been a few years since I got footage of that specifically but I do have updated footage on its Entegra "Sister" 24B model here bit.ly/3aWKymY if you'd like to learn more
      The Jayco and Entegra 24B aren't IDENTICAL but have the same layout. They just have a few different widgets
      Think like.. Chevy vs. GMC

    I added an inverter to the space behind fridge (outside access panel) and ran wires to battery. Now, when I unhook shore power and I'm ready to drive away (engine is running), I unplug fridge from dedicated plug and plug it into inverter. Now, technically the fridge is running on 110VAC, although it's coming from the battery and inverter. I agree, bring back the 3-way fridge !!! 2022RH31F

    • @johnprout8811
      @johnprout8811 Před 2 lety

      Also, in all fairness, the 12V option we had on our previous Winnebago Navion (MB Diesel chassis) only maintained the already operational temps of fridge & freezer, it never made the unit colder. But that's all you need it to do, if you are in transit and stopping at another campground with shore power. With what I did to our Redhawk, the fridge is working on 110VAC, so it's not really a "3-way" fridge

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  Před 2 lety

      We agree John, someone start a petition to bring back the 3-way fridge!
