It can sell, it's all about how you do it. Khabib, Muhammad Ali, Tony Ferguson, Israel, Anderson Silva, they weren't overly in your face unless you had issues with them. Conor, and Colby, they can say hurtful little things, but when that behaviour is pushed to its limits it leads to religion, family and race; it only needs the wrong opponent who will spark it for you, then before you know it you say all the horrible things you didn't want to say before. So it's best to keep a clean image.

Everyone knows that Colby is putting on a persona. And love him or hate him, you can't deny that he is a great fighter with great heart (Man fought Usman for 3 rounds with a broken jaw!!) and one of the most insane cardio outputs in MMA!
Some people genuinely believe his act is real. Which is worrying in itself... feel bad for the dude, he is a great fighter and shouldn't have to do this bullshit to keep his contract.

Unbeaten at that time? It’s nothing what could happen nowadays. There are a lot of fighters who are boring but just because they’re winning they don’t lose their job. I mean not only the boring fighters but press conferences with guys who can’t speak english and use translators are boring too
