They are born in Singapore too --same as -Singaporean -born free
In humid climates, chickens can help keep the insect and small rodent pops in balance.
And chickens would also become a perfect meal for predatory birds such has hawks, kites, and eagles. Food chain on its perfect balance.
True that. Free food for humans too. 😂
The worry is with some many foreigners around and prices of food are shooting through the skies, will these birds end up on some table or mala hot pot.
I saw a mommy chicken leading bb chickens crossing the street. They are super cute.
hey china, you're back in your country, selling dumplings and noodles, don't colonize Singapore, don't force Singaporeans to worship statues.
Agreeeeee
Leave them alone. Let them roam. They add color to our environment.
Yup, a few of them just pop up around my neighborhood, don't know where they came from but they looked beautiful. They made the surrounding rather lively.
The noise the chickens make is therapeutic.
Oh..thank you for saying that
Why these people complain? They are pest controllers. They help us rid cockroaches. In fact I enjoy hearing
roosters' crow. The sound of crowing rooster is soothing sound to me.
Junglefowls in the middle of urban landscape. What a nice sight to behold and a nice alarm clock to wake people in the morning peacefully like in kampongs.
Edit: Those who were complaining about their noise were most likely never had experience living in kampongs
Kampong still got the chicken faecal smell, at least the numbers are quite low density.
Try waken by these sound at 3.3am to 4am to 9am non stop everyday. It's really very environment damage
@@wendyshoowaiching4161 Been there done that. And those noise already become somekind of a white noise that i always missed badly when venturing back to kampongs.
@@wendyshoowaiching4161 Stop being so dramatic lah. I have wild chickens in my area too and the roosters will crow at any time they please. It's true they don't stick to a fixed schedule, but it's not loud enough that it would disturb my sleep. Compared to my neighbour's possessed toddlers screaming at the top of their lungs, this is still bearable. I live on a low floor too, so I imagine it'll be less audible for those living on the upper floors.
You're absolutely right. I've never lived in a kampung before. I belong to the HDB generation but I'll admit there's something very peaceful, serene and even amusing about watching them frolicking and going about their usual business amid our concrete jungle.
Many people mistaken them as chicken. They are actually the endangered species from the jungle. Their chicks are not yellow fur color. Their feet are not yellow color. They are the ancestors of the broiler chicken we domesticated for meat and eggs.
This chiken have a crossing with pure jungle fowl..
Quite an experience to see the chickens roam freely. It reminds me of the days in the kampong.
What a great way to get woken up, in a City, like Singapore! chickens are the gift of this area of South East Asia to the world! This is their natural habitat, they are truly citizens of Singapore, let them live free, please, just like the otters, who have made Singapore a truly amazing city, a mixture of jungle, and, and Highrise Buildings! #LoveLittleRedDot!
These families of chickens are very nice. It is also pleasant to see them roaming around freely and naturally in our hard land estates. Certainly and hopefully they would not disturb our residents much. I believe they would not intrude into those residents especially leaving on landed or ground floor houses. May the local authorities, please do not disturb or put them away.
Many of the officials, who hate wildlife anyway will cook up some excuse to deprive Singaporeans of our local fauna.
Yah Lor. It’s true lah. Only in 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝

Is beautiful than overseas and very independent too. Not required to count on neighbouring countries to bring in fresh poultries, vegetables, fruits and others too.

Huat Ah !!!!!!! 2023 January coming soon Lor.
ok
@@tangt4860 pretending to like fauna, wait till u live near chicken everyday.
@@tradertiga assumptions again. We actually miss the many broods of jungle fowl that came out only during dawn and dusk but seem to have been culled after the public complaints. Very wicked animal haters.
It puts natural lives in our midst. Love them.
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣
It brings the Kampong life.. nice to see them around
They are so beautiful and have every right to live here
Those wild fowls in the urban jungle, reminds of Singapore's past (Kampong lifestyle). Just don't feed them, they have plenty of supplies from the nature, and it's nice to see them around.
Does Kampong Buangkok still exist until today?
Daily nature alarm clock starting before/from 5am onwards near my block around the temple...
I love Chicken. Its makes me feel I am living in village and kampong. 😅 But sometimes when I see them on road makes me scare they got hit by cars.
The authorities should send them to road safety course at east coast park .. like we use to when we were kiddos .
Nah, just let them. Soon enough you'll got a full generations of chickens that have a skill to cross busy roads and learn how to survive in urban area like Singapore

They are beautiful. Those around Springleaf estate are pretty active.
hey china, you're back in your country, selling dumplings and noodles, don't colonize Singapore, don't force Singaporeans to worship statues.
Shh, we must not let those official chicken cullers know where they are.

Majulah Kita Singapura 🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝
There used to be a group next to the green patch next to central fire station and fort canning. But they had disappeared.
I live in Pasir Ris where these wild chickens roam. I don't find them a nuisance, in fact it is a pretty sight to see them roaming and finding food. Instead, I find the Koel Bird disturbing, literally "screaming" before 5am every morning.
hey china, you're back in your country, selling dumplings and noodles, don't colonize Singapore, don't force Singaporeans to worship statues.
Some koei birds sing very beautifully and yes those screaming ones should all best along Rochalie Road.
The Koel Birds practice parasitic brooding by laying eggs in the crows nest and their young kills the crows babies in such a way the crow population is in check.
that because you are enjoying them from a distance. My neighbour got 1 roasters, everyday from 5 onwards will start calling non stop. Because he had only 1 so complain to mp or any ministry doesn’t work.
@@___Danny___ the caged ones will be a daily call but the real wild jungle fowl will often roam about the area so it is occasionally they will give a nice wake up call.
Love them! Please let them stay!
This brings us back to kampong life. If they are not harmful to society, then let them be. It's nice to hear them early in the morning.
Yah Lor. Isn’t 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝
Cheap affordable and all things goes at : $1.50 to 2.50 Lor. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
What a pleasure to see wild fowls in urban environment.
They are blessing providing some sanity in hurried urban living.
Yah Lor. Because you’re a citizen of 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝
That's good. That means the city is balanced with nature. Think of this as Emergency Foods being available everywhere.

If there're too many in one area, catch some and put the group in another area where there're no chickens. The numbers will eventually increase of course but until the day come when a number will have to be removed permanently, leave them alone. They provide pest control and is a colourful living addition to estates.
Oh yah hoh..agree
Much prefer to have the sound of chickens than car traffic!!
Aiyaa Singapore, chicken roaming also want to be in the news.
At least the urban young ones will know how the KFC looked like before they are processed...
Its ecological to have the birds around to keep the insects in check.
what about the poops?
I wont mind chicken around residential area.can feel the kampong vibes.
Love seeing them.. don't find them nuisance at all. In contrast, I find those complaining utterly nonsense....
Leave them alone. Beautiful creatures. The bums complaining must be never bath in well water before.
Went to Sin Ming Avenue 31.Jan.2023 saw lots of those wild chickens scattered around the place...nice to see them.
Toh guan industrial park got the entire “pride” of wild chicken and their numbers are growing and if I’m not wrong they are separated with at least 3 clans & no one actually trying to hurt or chase them away ..… love it ❤
hey china, you're back in your country, selling dumplings and noodles, don't colonize Singapore,
don't force Singaporeans to worship statues.
Please don't give away their location or else you know the horrible enforcers will start removing them.

Learn to live with all living creatures
it is great isnt it. i stay in geylang bahru, there is a pair below my void deck at the small playground.
this is true wild chicken they have dark legs. Austronesian is the first to domesticate the red jungle fowl=chicken.
Imagine being a foreigner thinking that real kampung chickens are a rare sight for super slick kids growing up in urban Singapore. I was wrong when I chanced upon chickens and chicks roaming the streets in Shenton Way CBD. What a sight to behold and chanced upon more of them whilst walking towards Chinatown.
well i dun mind. i love seeing them roaming free.. talk about the duality of man.
they're beautiful.
I don't understand why it's an issue
Noise? What noise? People make the nastiest noise around. Complaints? Complain against our fellow citizens? These jungle fowls were here before SG was founded by anyone. This is ‘Tanah Jungle Fowls’, people! They should be protected!!!
Loved chickens, DEAD OR ALIVE. Live and led live. Love to see them roaming around freely. They add colours to our otherwise dull neibourhood.
I love to hear the cockerel crow!
Me tooo
Can bring some to Northshore ? I dont mind .
These chickens are part of our community. Just like dogs and cats, they belong here because they’re born here. We must be a more tolerant and inclusive society. With chickens in your parks or neighbourhood, you can be assured centipedes will never be found…🙏
Typical mindset of entitlement issue.

I just saw a rooster near block 109 TPY lorong 1. I was brought up in a kampong environment where they were many back then but after all these adult years living in an urban surrounding, that rooster was really cool to see.
Yah Lor. Kampong spirits still high. Live in Pulau Ubin and Pulau Tekong 👍👍👍👍👍
A car almost runs over a chicken and the problem is the chicken, not the car, oh and the chicken makes noise unlike the car btw
Life is just to love and to be Loved 💞 Love alone can Conquer the WORLD 🌎
Hi they also help to eat pest such as cockroaches. It helps to control pest population.
They are Singapore's
FEATHERED SAM SENG KIA!🐓🐔🐓🐔🐓🐔🐓🐔🐓🐔
Don't disturb its peace.❤
Based on the dark coloration of their legs and the white flaps of skin the roosters have over their ears, those aren't actual chickens. These are Red Junglefowl which naturally inhabit Singapore and are the closest living relative to the domesticated chicken. Their birthrates are usually closely matched with the local bamboo's seeding cycle so this could be why there was a sudden spike in the population
It’s nice to see many chickens 😂😊
emergency food supply.
Number drop from 100 to 50. Guess some were “kidnapped” to some kitchen
The real question is; who are these residents who brought live chickens as pets during pandemic lockdown while living in HDB?
SG consensus 2022 reported: 60% of new citizens are from SEA countries, simply means Malaysian. Now HDB looks like Malaysia. ❤
Despite complaints to NEA about the growing Crow population and yes they flew over or hitched a ride on those lorries from Malaysia but has since gone out of control especially along East Coast and Sentosa Cove, someone in Singapore still prefers them and let them stay and multiply over the attractive forest fowl, just like Ceca.
Yes I have I have been to that park before I’m very close I like to chase them
Infinite chickensss
They are safe and Better than otters, wild Boars & stupid monkeys. I like their early am noise which is rural type feelings in such modern metropolis
0:38 why does the chicken cross the road
They also have featherless wild chics
Satay Ayam ? True free roaming kampung ayam !
So, there is or isn't a chicken shortage anymore?
The do a great job of getting rid of ticks..
This is actually a cross between red junglefowl and domestic Southeast Asian chicken. The term wild "chicken" is a misnomer.
*Wild Ayam Penyet so Saraplicious*
Why did the chicken cross the road? 😊
Chicken nuggets from mcd and half spring chicken with rice from tenderbest are the best. Please let the chickens stay.
Love to see the wild chickens. Unfortunately, only Key West Florida allows them the right to stay free in this part of the world.
These junglefowls are hybrids
Please, let the wild chickens stay where they are! They are harmless and their presence gives residents serenity and a "kampung" feeling.
My friend who holidayed in that country saw a chinese woman get her kids to chase the chickens to catch and eat them somewhere near fort canning. He took shots as he found it funny.
Whaaaat? That's not even funny. That lady must be from China. We locals know better than to disturb them. Wild chickens aren't the same as domesticated or farmed chickens. We don't know what diseases they may be carrying. It's not wise to just go around catching them as a free meal.
An indian journalist 👏🏻
This means free food everyday.
Are people not allowed to catch and eat the chickens?
You should have money to buy it in the market. Leave the wild ones to take care of our environment 😅
Yikes
I live in Marine Parade but I don’t see any chickens. Part of this video is false
These innocent creatures feel safe and happy there.
Let them be there or domesticate some of them.
Humans and the animals share a traditional relationship.
*Wheres the Wild Boar ???*
I love Geylang chicken
more good looking than SG ah lians

Actually it is normal, it is just that during the Bird Flu, we culled so many of them that we had a bit too much peace for a long long time. I rmbered them culling even an Ostrich on Pulau Ubin, so......
I like the crowing sound, it give me a sense of kampong spirit. It’s so beautiful…

The locals really got it wrong. These chicken are great for the local environment and you really don't need to feed them. They know where find food.
Paid Millions to create a task force to look into chickens.
Are they wild or feral? Wild ones are not domesticated.
😇🐔🐣🐓🤗
Leave the chickens alone. They're decent people.
When do you see a chicken tell lies or backstab their friends? Ever seen a chicken beat up the hens?
They're better individual than human beings...
But on Sunday, some become like angels spreading so much love and kindness before they return to a life of sin for the rest of the week.
I think they have been hybridised multiple times. They don’t look pure
Let them strive. Too many humans
Sounds like Philippines.
Those that complain of noisy should just stay in cemetery 😂
Hybrid chicken between domestic and red jungle fowl
Fresh KFC
some kenyans need to be there
And Singaporeans somehow worry of run out on the chickens. When free range wild chickens are right there! Ready to be picked.
Great , we are Back to the kampung days ! Thanks to our good and efficient SG government ! ☺️👍🙏
