Fun fact: in Ouro Preto, there are lots of churches that the interior is made out of 90% of gold, almost everything is made of pure gold
In the XVIII century, Ouro Preto was larger and richer than New York City.
It's not pure gold, come on now. Gold sheets convers most of the church's interior, so that's why you can't take pintures inside nor touch it. And you can also see people have tried to scratch it out.

If you want natural beauty, the best place to go is in the Brazilian Northeast, it is where the best beaches are, the most beautiful places in the world, I recommend that you visit the capitals of the Northeast, especially Maceió, the capital of the state of Alagoas known as the "Brazilian Caribbean". People usually talk about eating in Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo, but Brazil is much more than that.

Honestly as a Brazilian I really recomend you to visit the small towns of Brazil its is nice, safer, it is another Brazil., capitals like Salvador, Rio, São Paulo are too crowded, not very safe. For you that like mountains, you really need to see the region of Mantiqueira in Brazil, so beautiful, the cinty of São Bento do Sapucaí is really special, the national park of itatiaia too.

One thing I noticed ALL of these Brazil related videos fail to mention is the nightlife specially in São Paulo, so if and when you get the chance, try and check it out.
