This was a great program helping people understand anosognosia, often referred to as denial, with tips on how to do things differently. Teresa is amazing with her knowledge and compassion!

Very nice and doable if you are close-by. Unfortunately my mom is far away and I need to organise a few things over the phone. Very hard while she feels on top of all things.

My mom was recently evaluated at a routine dr. appointment, to my sister's encouragement. She's had noticable stuff going on for awhile now and is also a covert narcissist- which makes things even more fun. Well, she scored a 16 out of 30 on the MOcA. And mom flipped out saying they don't know how to score it and she's not that dumb. Sadly, she didn't know what year it was and had to guess. But phone conversations have been quite "curcular" in the last few years and she eould ask the same questions over and over again. Maybe trying to prolong the call or she doesn't really know.

@@e.j.grandmaison8563 So sorry, but I am thankful you are in her life. Instead of asking any questions just tell her happy stories. Try stories of childhood when she did something wonderful with or for you. The goal is to bring her joy in the moment. I wouldn’t talk about diagnosis or diseases, just good things. If she can’t see the disease go along with her and be supportive. If she is upset, thank her for sharing that and tell her you will work on that for her. She needs you now more than ever. You Got This!!, Teresa
