    I couldn't fit the Arendal 1723 1S comparison in this video so here we go, the 1723 1S is a very good subwoofer with a similar (not identical) presentation. I feel the Rythmik does everything a little bit better but it is also considerably larger so that is important to keep in mind. If you live in North America Rythmik subs are tough to beat if you're looking for an SQ style presentation that can still extend low and play loud at a reasonable price. If you live in a region where Rythmik is not available the Arendal 1723 1S is a fantastic alternative and an excellent subwoofer in its own right.

      thank you, i was wondering about that comparison.
      i do not have enough experience with subwoofers to really name the type of sound i want, but precision sound about right for me, then add more subwoofers for more output, spl and fun.

    ***Corrections & Updates***
    1. I forgot to mention the Arendal 1723 1S comparison: This is an easy one, they are tonally very similar, the G22 is much larger & heavier. G22 will play louder and extend lower, G22 essentially takes the win overall and does everything a little bit better. With that said the Arendal 1723 1S is still an outstanding subwoofer and is the subwoofer I recommend if you live in a country where Rythmik is not available. I am NOT saying all Arendal subwoofers are tonally similar to Rythmik, just the 1723 1S and please keep in mind I am saying similar, not identical.
    2. Regarding an SVS comparison: I made a whole video for that and it can be seen here: czcams.com/video/rEz03XkcslI/video.html
    3. While I did not mention it in the video this subwoofer is also available in piano gloss black.

    The opening minutes of Bladerunner 2049 is a bass heavy sequences that the SVS PB16 ULTRA played low. There is modulation in that sequence that I never heard with the PB16. Totally different experience with the Rythmik fv18 subwoofer. Everything Nemo Propaganda says is 💯 accurate about Rythmik.

    Thanks Nemo for another great review. I have a pair of G22s in my living room system and I love their sound with music and movies. In my bedroom I have a pair of E22s and while both models have the same components, the E22 produce much more tactile response compared to the G22 so if the main use is movies, E22 would be the way to go but if music is your thing, then the G22 is the best subwoofer you can get from our sealed subwoofers offerings.

    I'm sure they're terrific! Nice review. Personally, I use Magnepan LRSs with a MiniDSP SHD, which I use as a crossover, as well as Dirac Live 3. I built 2 open baffle subs using FI Audio 18" woofers, ones designed for infinite baffle use. Before cutting into my floor, I made Dipole.....mounting frames? Anyway, I was worried that I'd lose a lot of low bass from cancellation, but there's plenty of 20hz output. The subs combined wonderfully with the fast-sounding (i.e. few resonances) Maggies. For my use, I don't feel any need to build an infinite baffle in the floor. It's great that there's so many options for getting great bass these days! If I didn't have dipole speakers, I'd get a Rythmik sub.

    These just came back in stock, and I can't wait for mine to show up so I can lug the sucker up to my apartment! Main reason for getting this over a different sub (or two) is the apartment part. I'll try to spare the neighbors at least a little frustration (and myself an eviction).
    I do have a hard time understanding all of the talk about "tactile" feel because ultimately I feel like an effectively pressurized space should still give me a satisfactory thump in my chest, not necessarily shake the everloving crap out of the structure, but I guess I'll find out the difference soon enough.

    Do you think the PEQ on a sealed sub can be used to add some bump to the range where ported models like an FVX12 usually excel?

    • @NemoPropaganda

      no it doesn't really work like that, just like plugging the port on a vented sub won't make it sound like a sealed sub. Most dsp sealed subs already have a a fairly strong boost in the low end (JL Audio, SVS, etc...) to make up for how small they are.

I am looking to pair two subs to combine with a pair of Klipsch La Scala II speakers using an NAD 33. My listening room is 18x18 with 12 foot ceiling. REL suggested a pair of 212 SX which is beyond my budget. Each corner where I would place the subs has a window on each side. I was concerned that this would affect the G22 more than the E22. You can place them anywhere in the room but corner loading generally will not sound the best unless you have a way to tune things. Hey bro, thank you for the kind words, I'm honestly not 100% sure on how much wall clearance dual opposed subs need, I'd ask Rythmik just to be on the safe side but if it's an issue just grab an E15hp2 instead. Welp. I'm returning my G22.
    I enjoyed your reviews, Nemo, and they got me excited to try great subs. But when you get one you can be faced with unforseen difficulties, especially if, like me, you are inexperienced.
    I tried REW/miniDSP, and I also tried dialing in by ear using just the sub controls. I could never get the sub to blend perfectly, but when I got it close, the sub was barely filling in the lowest lows. Not to mention my room mode forced a choice between no sub (as it extended my speakers), bringing the room mode into balance with the mains, or bringing the surrounding frequencies into balance and letting the room mode stand out like a sore thumb. The PEQ does knock down the mode, but not perfectly, and what's left doesn't seem as clean. Room mode aside, the G22 added extension but when I turned it off the sub, the bass, although less in quantity, was cleaner. I decided that with all the difficulty and uncertainty, the budget could be invested in other areas of my system that could really use it.
    Rythmik is incredibly reasonable with their return policy, though. I do have to say I'm grateful for the opportunity to try this nice of a sub, even if it wasn't a total win for my current situation.
    Nemo, I hope you don't mind me leaving this comment here. The G22 probably is one of the best subs on Earth right now, just wanted to offer my two cents.

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  Před rokem +1

      I don't mind people sharing their experience as long as there is context. Some rooms can be incredibly challenging, some speakers are incredibly challenging to pair with subs also. For example Elac B5.2 and Focal Kanta No1 are wildly different in price but both were extremely hard to blend with a subwoofer for some reason. If the room has major bass issues you may prefer a smaller sub that will be less likely to upset the room, something small like a REL T7X could be a better fit for your room but it may also be possible that you already have the quantity of bass you are happy with and any more then that will not be enjoyable. You tried something, it didn't work out, at least you tried :)

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  Před 10 měsíci +1

      From my Discord Server: I get this question a lot because the two are similar in price and feature dual opposed drivers but it's important to point out the massive size difference between the two with the G22 being substantially larger and weighing nearly 100lbs. The KF92 is an amazing subwoofer for any situation where a compact form factor AND extreme extension are the top priorities. Being so small and extending so low the KF92 will not have the headroom (maximum output) of larger subwoofers like the Rythmik G22, that's the trade off. The Rythmik G22 can do everything the KF92 can do and more. Being larger means it can extend as low and play those lower frequencies at much louder volumes and with a larger sense of scale. Rythmik note to note distinction, definition, and bass fidelity overall are a step up from the KF92 but this is more important for critical 2ch listening. In a theater setting the KF92's bass fidelity is still very good and you'd be hard pressed to find fault with it outside of its inability to play at neck breaking volumes in a large room. Will the KF92 have enough output for you personally? That's a tough question to answer but I can say with confience a single KF92 will have enough output for most people in a medium or smaller room and this is where in home trials can be very helpful if the small size is at the top of your prioirity list and your only concern is output. For those that know they are in that 10-20% of basshead extremists and size is not a concern then you should just go for the G22. Hope this explanation helps those of you that were stuck between the two.

The Output Comparison list on their site only has the E15HP and not E15HP2, which is 1.5db higher. The list is based on output at 20hz, which may be different from what you’re speaking of though. One of the more notable differences that Enrico mentioned was that the G22 has no tactile response, which the E15HP2 has. That’s what made me decide on dual E15HP2, when they come back in stock.

      that's a long discontinued subwoofer that cost over $5k when it was sold, I would expect the G22 to easily compete as 6x 8" is not too much more surface area than 2x 12" drivers that are more efficient.

      @@NemoPropaganda agreed! The justifiable comparison here is if someone where to ever consider buying a used sub 1, the g22 could be a fairly comparable lateral move that comes with warranty.

      @@95redz oh absolutely, I would not recommend anybody buy a 15 year old subwoofer unless its insanely cheap. The glues that hold the spiders and surrounds in place can breakdown around that age. If its a foam surround it can also breakdown around that time also, and the compenents in the plate amp have been run through thosands of heat cycles and may also be at the end of their life. Sure some subs will go for 25+ years but its not that common. I think many of these older giant subs were great for their time but may sound unpolished compared to something that Rythmik makes today.
