Council waste policies are a major reason for this, my private/work vehicle is a van but because of that I can't take my domestic waste to a council dump without paying simply because I drive a van.

Right so last Xmas my partner rang her council to get a permit for a van at the local tip, we got a permit hired a van and it took me a good couple of hours to fill it, got to the tip to be told the van was to big in height and I couldn't go in so we tried another tip who take large vans and because she was half a mile out the catchment zone they wouldn't let us in. Tried the private waste site who by the time we messed about with councils had all closed. I had to pay for the van for another day and empty it all back in her garden. I'm well against fly tipping but I'll be honest that day I was so very easily tempted to drop the lot in a lay by somewhere. Make it easier again for people to go to the tip and this will stop

So my local tip does not allow , L200/Pick up type vehicles and panel vans and you only have 5 visits a month, the result is the rubbish is now dumped anywhere, or its burnt. The major contractor V'a etc are paid by the council for a non existent service, resulting in fly tipping which they profit from. Allow the waste to be dumped at the local tip and then carried by local government, remove the profit element. Remove the private profit from operating dumps, essentially nationalise it. There are 40,000 contaminated sites in the UK ......all the time it is private companies making profit it will be corrupt.

After periods of rain the toilets in our units would fill up to almost the top of the bowl and release a pungent sewerage odour. The water/sewerage company while investigating the cause, which due to being in a rural location was suspected of being leaves, discovered that the blockage was caused by about 50-60 old oil filters and surmised that the garage was using the drains to dispose of them and old oil. It transpired that the culprit was a courier company on the same block of units who serviced their own vans,it was traced back to their drain using some sort of dye apparently. The garage owner and scrap guy were just unlucky through coincidence, the courier company owner scarpered back to India and escaped prosecution.

Curitiba (Brazil) has a fantastic waste management & recycling system
    - 75 % participation in recycling (much material feeds into their low income housing program)
    - food for waste program in low income communities
    - for larger items you can book a collection truck through your local municipality
    - a hazardous waste truck has scheduled collection points located near transit hubs where residents can drop off any hazardous material for safe disposal on set days
The city runs a "Trash that is not trash" program in schools. Kids also learn about their city and why they should protect the environment. The city also has a free University of the Environment - traders requiring a city license to operate are required to take course(s). The city offers residents tax rebates if they conserve the city's official tree on their property, and developers for including green spaces in their projects.

Local councils are not helping the problem. Council-run household rubbish centres have become almost impossible to access to dispose of household waste, with so many restrictions on what waste they will take, even restricting the number of visits households can make within a given period. What should households do with everything that falls short of the rules? The local council is of no help. Hence, householders call a local collection services and they fly-tip the rubbish. It's a vicious circle! at some point the councils need to take a stand on this, with education and providing trusted services for household disposals. if the UK councils (local government) cant deal with problem waste then it should become a government issue. it about ownership of the problem and where does that fall! if we cant deal with the waste, then we shouldn't be allowing the production and sales of those items that ultimately become the problems for waste disposal services.

This wouldn't be an issue if council dumps and "waste recycling centres" weren't run on the same access rules as a Category A prison, for starters. Some of the rules and the jobsworth behaviour is just ludicrous. I'm paying higher council tax than ever and my local tip was "modernised" and "upgraded" - it now has an ANPR-powered automated gate and a brand new escape lane for people who don't have a booking and can't get through. It's also now closed on Wednesdays and only open between 10-4 on a Sunday.
Before these "improvements" anyone could rock up on demand, it was open seven days a week, things were fine. There was no need to change it.

as someone with over 10 years legitimate experience in this industry I can tell you for a fact the issue is that it's so expensive to dispose of rubbish. The govt should be spending however many millions it requires to cover the cost of disposal so that normal people can dispose of stuff for free. Instead for example it's £50 to throw away a fridge officially, it's no wonder they get dumped on street corners then the compressor gets cut out for scrap. I know people making mega money doing illegal waste disposal and it will never ever change.

This was later confimed in the clip. A person twice convicted of the same thing was given a suspended sentence. Thereby making sure that a third offense will occur in the future, as a suspended jail sentence is not a deterrent if you can get the judge to suspend it, yet again.
Why is the ethnicity of perps committing crimes not recorded unlike most of the EU?
So we do not scare the population of kippers in the UK with sweden like crime numbers. That is why. As it is most crimes are not even recorded. Called a coppr lately? How long that take to get done? DId one come? I successfully defended an assault by my landlord and one of his goons in my kitchen by spallering their blood all over my kitched windows. I am lucky i hold a purple belt in ju jistu and can defend myself. But i still called the cops. Did they come? Heck no. Do they come when people call them for burglaries? Heck no. Do people who work in shops when criminal gangs storm in and casually fill plastic bags full of stoen goods and then casually walk out? Heck.
Why dont they call the coppers? Because they dont come and they wont do anything.
Sure, Uk citizens and even people who lived here all their lives do these very same crimes. But, by a large these are foreign run criminal gangs that perpetrate these crimes and this show proved it.

It's a classic case of passing down the buck here. As long as it's cheaper and more convenient to either call a dodgy removal company, or just dump it yourself, people will dump themselves. The solution is simple, make the legal, proper way to get rid of stuff more convenient and cheaper than the dodgy companies.

When politicians bang on about a particularly controversial topic, e.g. immigration, national service etc., etc., you really have to wonder what these people are trying to divert our attention away from. Vaughan Gething should have been removed as First Minister immediately following losing the no-confidence vote. If this is organised crime, then there is bound to be politician somewhere in the chain. Organised crime simply cannot work at the operational levels they are on without a few corrupt or coerced police officers, judges and politicians to cover their actions for them and add legitimacy and respectability to their reputations. Some politicians will have failed to do their due diligence properly and will effectively have been used, but many will be complicit. We should however, remember that not all politicians are corrupt as shown in this video of he Labour MP who is fighting against this.
