    Welcome to Part One of this series taking a detailed look at the A2A Simulations Accu-Sim Supermarine Spitfire package that includes the MkIa, MkIIa and MkIIb variants.
    This first episode introduces you to the Spit and goes over the main external and cockpit features of the aircraft to give you an overview prior to looking at particular areas in depth.
    My thanks to Curt Lewis for creating the beautiful MkIIb tribute repaint of Boultbee Flight Academy's Tr9 G-ILDA
    MkIa PRU repaint by Bladerunner900, another classic!
    Thanks also to our chief Spitfire pilot and crew chief Killratio for his help in the past and the present!

    I'm quite late coming to this and other Accusim products and frankly, glad to be.
    As a software engineer I spent my early years with flight sims frustrated, battling with performance issues, struggling with frame rates and complicated setups requiring more than one PC.
    In 2020 we now have mature products (FSX and P3D) which run beautifully on "second best" hardware and expandable at affordable cost thanks to being made "antiquated" by new releases.
    While the "must have" contemporaries are battling with glitches and anomalies on both hardware and software, and constant mega patching, I now enjoy a silky smooth experience on the "old stuff" with plenty of premium "old stuff" products going cheap in the market. "Happiness" comes from low expectations. In contrast, disappointment is inevitable when you expect it all.
    If you are someone who has to have latest specs on all things you'll probably miss the joy of having these products in their full glory.
    On a different note, Scott Gentile has to be one of the best salesman ever. His love and enthusiasm to share this stuff spills into everything his company has done. In a world full of shallow and easily-bored arcader's, I only wish there were more enthusiasts around to appreciate fully what A2A has done and reward their efforts better.
    Thanks "DreamsofWings" for showcasing this stuff so well👏

      Thank you so much!
      I had pretty much given up on FSX some years ago until I discovered A2A accu-sim and it revolutionised my experience. Suddenly I felt I had something closer to what my experience of real world flying was like. You are absolutely right about Scott. He has a passion for aviation and his company and it shows. The fact that they produce simulators for the military and commercial clients shows they know their stuff. They also have a great team over there and some of the best customer service around. I dabble for fun in the latest MSFS but nothing beats flying A2A in P3D and I spend 95% of my time there.

    Thank you for this useful video. How were you able to get all variants of this plane into one screenshot?

    • @Dreamsofwings
      @Dreamsofwings  Před 3 lety +1

      Many thanks! I use a program called WAMA (Where Are My Aircraft) which allows you to save aircraft positions in the sim. Each aircraft that you see is a saved position which WAMA injects into the sim. Sometimes it can do some quirky things but generally it’s pretty good for this sort of thing.
