    Interesting. On the video for the stair rails, it expressly states that the posts at the top of the stairs should be taller than the decking posts (looks ugly by the way). In this video, the posts at the top of the stairs are the same height.

    Are the stair spindles adjustable in angle and if so, by how much? I want vertical spindles with a 32-deg stair slope.

    And where is the template? It doesn't come with the product.

      The UB-04 template is Fortress Item 53546239 (Universal Bracket Installation Template) and comes with the spring punch tool featured in the video.

    Also, instructions for installation are not accurate according to sales rep.

      I found them very accurate. Just finished installing half a dozen posts.

    Immediately and on the stainless steel wires.

    Product rusts very easily. Company does not stand behind product and is rude and does not accept responsibility for faulty products. Also be prepared to pay an installer multiple times to install because any warranty does not cover labor.

      How long after installation did you start to see rusting and where exactly did it occur? Did you seal any cuts made? Just wondering. Thanks

      Not sure about the product or company, but isn't the labor a given? With any construction the price overall is at a minimum double the materials cost. That's common knowledge.

      That's interesting. Finish failed after a few years on a friend's rail. Fortress replaced it, AND provided almost $1000 to cover labor for reinstall.

    cool template that doesnt come with the packaging??? cmon. That is ridiculous! I just spend $3k and i have to pay extra for a template AND hardware...

      You don't HAVE to pay for it. I bought it because it is more convenient. Well worth the $25... solid thick metal template with accurate drilled holes, and a nice punch tool.

    A cheap template doesn't even come with the product? Ridiculous. And clearly Fortress is trying to save even more money with this 1990's installation video. They couldn't even afford a narrator to provide basic directions. Also looks like it's 5 years old

    • @WebbedPete
      @WebbedPete Před rokem

      Template: one per rail? That would increase the price quite a bit. No thanks.
      And which language would you have them use? This is a multinational product. Visuals need no narration ;)

    • @rossdavidmcdermott
      @rossdavidmcdermott Před rokem

      The template is a piece of paper. I think Fortress can afford the cost to add a slip of paper to each package.
      What language? English. Captions work miracles.
      I'll assume you work for Fortress because your arguments are moot.

    • @WebbedPete
      @WebbedPete Před rokem

      Do your homework. It is machined aluminum and comes with a special punch. $26.
      Why bother with a paper template? Less accurate than measuring with tape and speed square.
      They provide the measurements. This is only for pros where time is money and it is worth paying a little to rapidly punch in the drill points.

    • @WebbedPete
      @WebbedPete Před rokem

      Oh, and no... I am a first time customer. I did my homework. Chose Fortress due to quality of finish and warranty that backs it up.
      Most US installers today are no longer English speakers (I too am sad about that)... And believe it or not, captions really do get misinterpreted. That's something I deal with all the time (my work involves tech and communications in general. Soooo easy for people to misunderstand. Pictutr/video really is worth more than words. Combine with a video of a person actually doing it, and it becomes very clear.)
      In my case, the template came with instructions... But I was not sure of the meaning until I saw a few of the details in this video 😏
      Don't want to buy a template/punch? Just use the measurements in the instructions. 🤠

      1990s? Thanks for the laugh, honestly 🤣
      1990's: DVD. Late 2000's Blu-ray. And this is well done CG animation. Common today, but not back then, especially for non-tech vendors. 🤣
      Have a great life.
