Maybe the reason the Muppet adaptations of classic stories are so good is precisely BECAUSE of the goofy puppets? They engender a kind of honest earnestness in us via their very nature. And because they’re so silly, if you want a story with them to actually move people, then you HAVE to embrace that goofiness and sincerity. You can’t be afraid of your story being seen as cheesy or maudlin because it’s THE FRIGGIN MUPPETS. And with that sincerity comes a kind of genuine,empathetic storytelling that I think bleeds out into the human actors too: who,likewise, have to be the literal BEST in their craft in order to convincingly play a character honestly alongside such wacky beings.
If you use soap spray a few times or sponge on an old car part you can make it new and shiny, also you can do that to wheels and tires but it needs to be separated
I just wanna say Chris, your readings and commentary are so cool because you have the perfect voice for it. I've even thought like damn this guy should be a voice actor! I can tell you put a lot of effort into retakes and getting it right, but you always sound amazing and regardless of cuts I know you still would!
The Muppet Cristmas carol is on another level. It´s one of if not the best adaptation of the source material. Down to the sets and costumes. The costumes the puppets wear are more accurate to the depicted period than most of anything else, being all but historical reproductions. The litteral Muppets in this have costumes better than most "serious" movies calling themselves historical.
