it's hilarious when lots of people mock Xiaomi for that USB Type C 2.0 on their flagship, but then, in 2023, nobody complained about iphone 15 2.0 Type C, lol. Some reviewers mention it, but not that much as they used to mock xiaomi phones

IPhone does not expose true file/folder structure as file manager, so people bashing that first. It's not like nobody complained, but like, even with 3.1 USB speed it's near worthless without good/proper utilization.
But most android phone already have a good file manager, so to optimally use that, we need more USB bandwidth speed

@@patricksmusicvidz2611 the sensor itself supports it but it wasnt equipped with the proper tools for doing that. Hdr was really bad too

This is the best review I ever seen for this phone and the reason why I clicked on like button and subscribed immediatly to the channel. You're the first to explain that the IR blaster has been moved to the camera area. Because I'm a technology teacher, I really needed to be sure that this device is well present on the phone because I often use it when battery of videoprojector remote are dead or missing in classroom. Finally a phone that can replace my P30! (4+ years old by now and still going VERY strong hardware-wise but no longer getting security OS updates since May-2022).
I think it's been 5+ years since Apple detonated the price for top end phones and Android manufacturers foolishly followed their lead, making flagships insanely expensive and, often, keeping fundamental features from midrange or even high-end phones to justify the price of flagships.
To top it off, Android phones had abysmal support for OS security patches so even though price-wise they were 1:1 with iPhones, value-wise Androids were garbage when considering their pathetic 2-3 years of support vs. iPhones' 5-7 years.
A final personal preference that kept me away from any phone in the past 4 years is size. I despise giant phones even though I have large hands. Nearly anything released in the meantime is HUGE vs. the P30. I need a PORTABLE device to be excellent on the go and that means being easily operable with one hand AND that means anything larger than ~150x70 mm is a problem as it becomes very unstable when I try to reach the top of the screen one-handed.
The Xiaomi 14 solves almost all problems that most other phones have. It's about the size of the P30, has good cameras, has fast storage (inc. 5-10 Gb/s USB-C wired conn.), has aptX (unlike Samsung), has 5 years of security updates, has a 120+ Hz OLED screen, has a fast SOC and, CRITICALLY, has a price that's tolerable for a device that can be lost at any time for an infinity of reasons.
It lacks just 2 major features: 3.5 mm audio out and a notification LED (I saw a LED on the top right in the video and my heart skipped a beat but I think it's just for charging).
I have to say, before the P30 I've never owned a Chinese phone and the P30 blew me away. I can clearly see why the Americans were scared of Huawei. The P30 was a masterpiece of elegance and just raw hardware excellence. I hope the Xiaomi 14 continues that legacy. We'll see.
I'm from the UK and bought my p30 pro pretty much around the first covid lockdowns so it's been about 3.5 years. It's hands down the best phone I've ever owned - cameras were one of the best parts. For about 6 months I've been considering changing it as the screen has cracked and battery isn't as good as it used to be. After contemplating s23 and pixel 8 I think I'm gonna have a go at this xiaomi 14. Not a fan of big phones as this p30 pro was the biggest I want to go, and I do like curved screens. This xiaomi 14 seems everything I want in a phone. Waiting for it's release in the UK!

Still using P30 (4 years right now). Have just tested S24 with exynoss and I'm not buying it. Pictures are better, but slightly, and not in every mode. I like zoom pictures in P30, S24 aren't that good. I like leica colours more etc. Hoping to buy Xiaomi 14 when it arrives in Europe.

This is now my favourite phone. I am probably picking one up as soon as it becomes available here. However, I am super sensitive to PWM flickering and modulation depth too. Although from bilibili I saw that the strobing is actually very good but modulation depth is another question. Hopefully, I can use this device in the long term.
Please let me know what you choose. It's so hard to find PWM friendly phones nowadays
The most critcized of xiaomi14 is strobing, it might destroy your expection for this phone, while it's not a problem for me. You'd better experience it for a short time by someway.

Really informative reviews... Which camera module looks better than this? The vivo x100? Google pixel? I personally like it. It isn't wonderful. Is it worse than the round centred ones? I admit Huawei always offer beautiful designs. Practically, the sensors are that large . It would be nice for a comparison...which existing camera modules does the author like?

I just bought xiaomi13 12/256gb global rom a week ago , i upgrade from mi11 to 13 because my mi11 broke , wifi and hotspot error 💔 not cheap to spend for the replacement because of hardware failure 😅 , i go with xiaomi 13 because it's cheap rn , the camera also smaller than xiaomi 14 ,i know xiaomi14 has a new camera etc ,but the difference isn't that huge imo , and the xiaomi14 camera layout is too big for compact phone especially when gaming . Xiaomi13 camera layout is perfect for its size in my opinion, one more thing,now is the good timing for buying last gen flagship, the price has dropped significantly, the camera , Soc snapdragon 8gen2 performance still good for gaming too even though xiaomi14 comes with the new 8gen3 . Definitely bang for the money imo .

@@notchipotle why shouldn't you try Realme gt5, really strong in terms of battery charging and time-consuming using battery, i got that one and more 2 months experienced, battery can adapt for a long 1 day and charging just only 25 minutes for full
Colors os really smoothier than Hyper os, many real users confirmed that, but camera not good as Xiaomi is,but i think there is no problem as you are gamers or kidda realistic using

I have a question: how much does the Mi Music app drain the battery and how much does it heat it up?
I'm currently using a Mi 9 and Mi Music eats up the battery, sometimes up to 30-40% in 1.5-2 hours of listening music.
Obviously it's not the phone's fault, but something went wrong in the app development. I personally have been experiencing this bug since last December.
Has anyone else experienced this?

On the Xiaomi 14, video Pro mode, Have any of you experienced problem filming in 24 fps? I tried all settings and it won't record footage in 4k and 8k in 24 fps, it always records in 30fps (29.97) even if it is set to 24 fps and indicated on your screen menu 🤔 Is this a glitch, software bug, or am I missing something? It can record 24 fps when in Movie mode, or the regular Video mode. Any advice appreciated 👍🏼

You should only read 4x android update bc xiaomi wont change. They would give you update the most on android updates only but not the security patch(they release it whenever they want it). But even 3x update android is enough for midrange
No. The actual Poco F5 and F5 pro have 2 years from what I remember or 2 android updates
Mi 10 series and Poco F3 originally only promised 2 Android updates but recently they are announced to receive 3rd Android update. I believe Xiaomi is increasing software support gradually

Hmm I am mainly looking for super camera, watched dozen of videos of xiaomi 13 reviews and it seems like it depends who is using it they either like it and make decent shots or not. What I miss is if reviewers could use some pro paid apps to make photos with adjustments and let people know how it is vs out of the box. Moreover I wonder if its the processing that is improved and not camera, because as people found out 8:20 looks better on Xiaomi13 - on 14 colors are more flat and blown out like on iPhones. I

It's not really even competition in "photography muscle":
Pixel 8 is "one league lower player" by lacking tele camera completely and neither its ultrawide does pixel binning.
Something like Galaxy S23 would same level player.
