Golden hands, for sure. But pliers for this job should not be toothed and as an idea, the spiral steel key hanger should go directly through a carabiner spiral, without the mediator you made. Keep up the good work.
Wow...I never imagine how easy is to bend a wire hanger with just 2 pieces of tools that I have around my house. Thank you for share your creativity...I love it👍👍.
This is where I sae this video. I couldn't remember who did it. I saw this a few years ago and have made countless of these. They are easy to make and handy for light loads and you don't have to worry about losing them. I usually take it a step farther and harden the spring coil after it's made to keep it from bending out of shape and guve it a bit more tension
That’s so cool. I would make one mod to it. Without welding the wires at the end you could keep them together with a tiny ranger band. Easier to melt rubber than to weld copper.

ahh, the glorious upcycle of coat hanger wire. Sadly, wire coathangers are somewhat scarce where I live unless you go to a dry cleaner on a frequent basis.
If you have a uniform supply company near you (Cintas, Unifirst, ...), you can ask them or one of their truck drivers for a few. I did once several years ago and got a box with 300 for $1.
I made a carabiner out of a wire coat hanger, a couple sockets, and a pair of pliers. ...and a bench vice. And a hacksaw. Cool video and concept though.
This is cool, i just don't like the top two open ends.. would it even be possible to start with it folded or something to have no "loose" ends.. or twist them and fold over idk

Great work. Really appreciate the natural sounds as opposed to music.
Thank you for enlightening me that I had a huge stockpile of mandrels at my disposal.
I have never seen wire bending techniques like shown here. Seems so simple. Really effective and mostly perfect bends. Thanks.
Best ten minutes all week!
And the stuff I learned from that ten minutes will be useful for the rest of my life!
Very nice! That’s the most useful thing I have ever seen made from a coat hanger! Very nice work! 😎👍🏻
The things you create are amazing. It's just from a garment. I made it with a stainless steel wire. Thank you. I love it
what wire number is it
I like the steel wire craftsmanship very much, very beautiful.
Awesome video. Always been curious about these carabiners, nice to see it done.
I enjoyed the silence except for the sound of the tools. Neat!

very nice.. i usually build myself some sort of carabiners like that one .. but with a slightly different design ... very helpful thanks

Brilliant idea using a rachet set.
That's for sure. Never thought of it.
Wonderful 10 mins, will make my own, thanks..

A moment of silence for the hanger that lost its life for this video......
Awesome hack sir
"NO! More! WIRE! HANGERS! EVAAARRRRR!"

How about making the clip section that you did at the end...a bit longer, solder them together then cut to length?
Thanks for sharing

Excellent.!!!
I new a person that made this and gave it to me
Catchy.
Very good
Wire hangers are rare now
Awesome way to save 75 cents
Can you even get wire coat hangers anymore.......

Chris Sproles I will make a new one with your suggestions. Thanks!

Perhaps just brazing the two ends together would do the trick .. would also look kinda neat. Cool project!
Fine job . and save $

QUESTION: What gauge Hanger is that and where did you get it?...
Yikes, I don’t remember. I got theses hangers from amazon. I just bought whatever pack that came up. Brent
Do you get your clothes dry cleaned? Or know anyone that does? When you get them, they are on wire hangers.
good
Ok ok beautiful
what is the name of that wire and where do i get it
👍
How does it work today?
Good video.
bravooooo
Nice hack, Mr. Hack Master 😎😎
I made it 6 year ago
what size sockets did you use or does it make a difference?
I think it was 13mm and 8mm, but it's really up to you.
FIRST CLASS AMATEUR thx nice job by the way!
Question the bend where you go around the socket twice... how far Dow from the big loop do you go? Looks like3-4 inch?
What are the measurements. Cant see it clearly in the video
Could you use those for climbing?
Are you serious?
Steve Ibershof Nope, suicidal... ;-)
God no.
Lol...What size are the sockets...Please
7MM and 14mm
Make a swivel please
👏🏽👏🏽
HOW MANY INCHES ?
I make it
You know, a wire gate carabiner only costs around $10. Just saying.
To much money for tools to make this....dollarama sells some heavy duty ones for pretty cheap but I appreciate the effort
If you don't have 2 pairs of pliers a 10mm and a 12mm deep socket you need to reevaluate your life fam.

Sometimes it's fun to make something just because you can . Better than not doing anything and just sitting on your keyster watching CZcams videos
The dollar store also sells some cheap tools as well. Then you would have them for other things.
Dale in Canada
Hangers have brittle steel & not springy enough to make a clip like that.
seems to work tho
The spring is in the loops at the bottom and not in the bending of the wire.

I said no more wire hangers! LoL
Interesting. Let us know when you lose your keys.
Will it take my weight? Can you show me how to make a fertiliser bomb, there's a couple of wind turbines I need to blow up?

It will rust by the time
You spent half-hour or hour and all you got is trash that worse than 50-cent chinese carabiner. Why?!
