Castor wheels and tire are for indoor use. NOT very verilile unless you have perfectly smooth sidwalks

Yes there is. Its behind the right drive wheel if you were sitting in the unit. Its almost under the plastic shroud but you should see a small clear rubber button you can press.

Marc's Mobility batteries have started running low. Not holding charge like they used to. I'm on Medical-Medicare. thanks
Hi Janet,
The batteries should last roughly 2 years before needing replacement. You will lose distance over time. If you can not get the batteries covered we do have them here for $296 for the pair delivered.

They turn on depending on the style of joystick with a lever being pushed forward and by hitting a green on button. What joystick do you have?

Was going to buy the Quantum Q6 Edge but not after reading the comments here. It's a shame that power chairs are not made to look good and have speed. You can always find good looking manual chars, not power chairs though. It always seems like this power chairs are designed for old ladies and not young proessionals.
This unit performs great on paved surfaces but not off. If you need something that does both there are other options.
This is a great chair. My husband has used his for years and loves it.
My adult son has a Quantum Z Edge and likes to go out at night across busy streets. Help, I need bright lights (maybe something eye catching) for his machine
You can add light kits to some of these units. I would need to know his serial number. If he can still use his hands he can just carry a flashlight. I do it. When I cross a street, I shine the flashlight right at cars.

Far a basic Quantum Edge, they take 2 55 Amp hour batteries

sits to low and goes to slow. wouldn't be a good fit for a very active user like myself such as myself. but with the battery's, looks like a tight fit and would be hard to pull them out.
