Legit. Ive been doing my hair with drug store products, including color, for twelve years. It hasn't been perfect, but hair dressers fuck up too. But 90% of the time it's perfect.

You really should try the OgX Dry Shampoo Foam and the Cake Dry Conditioner... I have brunette hair that is so long it's past my hips and I sit on it and it's super thick and curly and I swear by those two products they make life so much easier and cut my routine time way down in between washes they really are amazing they leave your hair feeling silky smooth and leave no residue at all even on dark hair like mine... I know everyone loves the batiste dry shampoo but when it comes to quality and ease of use the OgX and Cake take the literal cake lol trust me you'll never look for another dry shampoo again once you try those!!

RhianafeatEileen I know my opinion may not mean much but I use their shampoo (I have for years) and I have super picky hair and it’s probably the best thing I’ve ever used. :)
It will work but you need to have a thoughtful conversation with your store representative because I got my hair chemically burnt with Lush Peppermint hair soap. If you have sensitive scalp or hair I recommend the ginger shampoo from The Body Shop
RhianafeatEileen love the purple cleansing shampoo bar! Not every day but a great deep clean!!
There is also a brand called Ethique that you could look i to trying their bar shampoo and conditioners :)
RhianafeatEileen As a former lush employee, I personally used them only for scent. And then I’d use my other shampoo and conditioner after because lush’s did nothing texture/cleaning wise for me lol. They are pricey if ur on a budget, and they also use sulfates (which is why I had to stop using) But def look into it! May work better for you, and if not- there are plenty of other eco friendly brands!! Good luck :)

OGX is 100% worth it! It’s the only brand that I use on my hair religiously, I do use a couple of others here and there but I can’t live without OGX

@@gobnaitaine2791 oh I've done that so many times. I'm going back blonde so I'm getting it done professionally. I'd very rarely use boxes now. If I do my colour at home I go to a salon supplier and get professional colours and use that instead. It's more expensive but it's so much nicer and the tubes last longer so I can top it up.
Yo I used a box dye and it turned out really well it was semi-permanent and lasted for 6 months and it’s coming out really nicely. I’m dying it this weekend with professional products so don’t come at me

I think a cool idea would be to focus on drug store products that perform on a specific use. Meaning, a video dedicated to finding the best drugstore texturizing product and or best drugstore dry shampoo.

So as far as Batiste is concerned, Brad was doing it a little bit wrong. First off, the white cast happens with pretty much any spray dry shampoo (I'm sure you know that already but just on the slight chance you didn't); the clumpiness, however, is what happens when you don't shake the can well enough (batiste you definitely have to shake for at least 5 to 10 seconds). Second, he didn't really massage it into the hair, which is what gets rid of the white cast; after that, brush it through to distribute it throughout the hair. And third, which is kind of my own personal preference: I wouldn't spray it directly on the part line or on the top of the head in case the clumpiness and white cast DO happen, because then it's on display to the whole world. I usually lift up sections of hair around the part line, spritz the roots a couple times, and move onto the next section.
Batiste has been my go-to since 2017 because it is the only dry shampoo I've used (sorry NotYourMother's) that doesn't leave my hair with grey patches or a chalky or crunchy feel, which is saying a lot, because I have very dark, very fine hair.

Yeah, you said exactly what I was thinking too! Also with the scent of it, which he hated...they make like 20 different scents for that reason. But mainly, everything you said is my point too; shake the can, hold it further away, don't spray directly on the part line, get in there with your fingers first, followed by brushing. I've never had chunks of the product right after using it. Now, buildup later on is a different story!
For a good dry shampoo you shouldn’t have to do all of that work though. If it’s a good dry shampoo, you just massage it in a little and then brush it

@@Vandalynn I've used it too, I was apprehensive at 1st bcuz it's such a different concept than what we're used to, but i liked it a lot. When used sparingly, it works so much better for me than the aerosol stuff that leaves that powdery residue & crud in my hair, lol

With the dry shampoo you are suppose to let the white „powder“ sit on the hair for a few minutes and then rub it out with a dry, clean towel. It takes all of it away and leaves you with dry and clean feeling refreshed hair 😊 the white cast completely disappears 👍🏻

I use Batiste dry shampoo and I swear by it. It does appear white on the hair but you have to leave it for a few minutes. You massage it through the hair first and THEN brush it out. Reading the instructions is key. No hating, just saying.
Jane Doem thank you, this works very well for my hair. which tends to get very greasy and is, in the end, extremely thick. it also helps a lot with second day hair. he was very overdramatic.
I use the Batiste for brown hair and I love it. Personally, I don't apply on top of the head. I lift a small section from the top and apply on the bottom section and massage or brush.
Yes!! I loooove batiste! And my hairs so dark brown that its almost black! But its what works best for my hair (I've tried a lot of dry shampoos). I always go back to batiste.

@@claudiamorales9575 I apply on top of the hair but very lightly as I have fine hair that gets oily within a few days. I section my hair too and I leave it to soak for a few minutes. I massage the roots and then brush it out.

I had an amazing hair dye by Clarol which was only 80p. It was designed for tips and highlights but I could get about 3 heads of hair from I cos my hair is short. Never damaged my hair and would stay in for around 8 to 10 weeks. Shame they don't do it anymore and now I'm on the Superdrug own brand which is still pretty decent but more expensive at about a fiver and doesn't last as long. I could never use permanent colour, that's way too much commitment and damage, especially since I don't bleach my hair as it's a dark blonde so I can get darker colours out of the dye that suit me way better than if I bleached it.

When you're living pay check to pay check with no help it can be hard getting enough money for food or other items, hair will come last after I've been able to take a shower and pay rent. These items are luxuries to many people I know sadly.

the batiste one works when you put it on, leave it in for 2 mins or so and then massage it in for a few seconds, then brush it out, it works perfect for my blonde hair! :)
Also on dark hair confirmed :) no residue. An other tip is to not spray so close to the roots but keeping at least 10 cm away from it so it spreads

Hi! Not a hairdresser but I do have curly hair so : make sure that the products you use don't have any sulfates or silicone because they will kill ur curls loll. Don't brush your hair dry , only brush it in the shower when there is conditioner in your hair. I really recommend the ogx coconut curls line and also the ogx Shea soft and smooth like is also bomb. Remember to use a styler like a gel or a styling custard. Brands like maui moisture and diva curl make amazing products . Dry your hair with a microfiber towel and don't wash your hair everyday! (That was so long sry😂)

Hey impulsive people like me, I have some advice: Any time that you feel the urge to dye your hair with box dye, just imagine Brad Mondo running at you screaming with scissors and a bottle of glitterati. Then go buy some real hair dye.
I still don't get the difference between box hair dye and "real" hair dye
I only use box dye to lighten my hair (I have thick tight coils and the last time I bleached it ruined my curl pattern) I always use regular dyes for color though
@@nazoorah1517 box dyes are typically permanent and have an unknown developer while "real dyes" are just the color pigment that you have to mix with a developer unless it states it doesnt need one. I dunno. I find I have better color results with mixing my own developer because I feel it looks nicer but it's all preference
