Learning this version on acoustic. You don't fully appreciate the skill he has until you try to play this. Can't wait until I have it down. Such a therapeutic song to play and sing during all this chaos of 2020. Helps soothe the soul after losing people to this stupid virus and to get away from social media. If you plan to learn this song definitely plan for weeks and weeks if not months of practice. Especially if you're a newbie player like me!

I refound this song after breaking up with my girlfriend. Although we didn't date for long, I always thought she was the one. I've had other girls throughout my life, but it never hurt as much as when she left. I was so heartbroken that tears didn't even want to flow, although they didn't flow I just felt it in my heart and thought, "My life is shit as is, but now that she is gone what do I have left." To this day, I pathetically hope that she will return but I know that this won't happen. I was just ranting, sorry for the spam message.
i feel you brother. i just had the same thing happen to me. there was a girl that i loved so much and i was madly in love with her, till she broke up with me and started dating with a douche. i thought she was the love of my life and i couldn't get past over her for over a year. and then i met a girl, a special girl who made me forget it all. we were so alike, but she was recently out of a relationship. so she was so confused and kinda broken. i gave her all the time she needed, treated her nicely. we had fun together and our first date was amazing. but in the end, she decided to separate our ways and even blocked me on all her socials. and now here i am, thinking of all the shit that has ever happened to me and the reasons why. people are weird man, they always come and go. you gotta move on and look forward, be with people who loves you unconditionally. hold on to your family and fulfill your life with pure love. i hope you get the message brother, take care of yourself and stay strong.

The life In front of me/you as well, is far more important than the life behind you/me. This song hits home, cause we love our significant other enough to let em go and live a happy life. I've been listening to this on repeat for over a day now. Every single word hits home, every chord of the guitar pulls at the strings of my heart. It has been so long, years, maybe a decade? Since the last time I felt feelings like that for someone. Wandering alone in the dark for even the faintest sign of a light or a glow of warmth. Then I found it, and I could finally feel again, I saw the stars & dreamed again and felt invincible, I felt ALIVE. But then it was dark again, the stars were gone and I found myself in the dark again. So dark, not even a shadow to keep you company. If it were under different circumstances I would have fought tooth and nail for that star light to come back, but she has much bigger issues to address right now than a possible love interest. The timing was just bad, even so I am thankful, so thankful that even if for only a short time I could feel again. Remembering how happy I was brings me to tears even now, I had found a long lost piece of myself. Now I wander alone in the dark again for who knows how long. But i'm still so grateful even if for just this pain, I know they say time heals all wounds but I think it's more accurate to say it numbs all wounds. And that's what this dark is, numb, so i'll cling onto this pain for as long as I can before it starts to fade away and I find myself again just completely numb to everything. I felt alive.

The Quote that I understand now but never really heard of when this song came out was “When you are happy you like the music but when you are sad/ depressed you listen to the lyrics. “ When this song came out I loved the music so much like it became my favorite song like at 11 years old I was the happiest kid but now it hurts to even think about my past relationship. I found this song the day after my wife died in my arms. I let her go. this paticular video hit me hard because near the end of this song the artist completes the verse with wispered words. When I was pretty depressed a few years ago. My partner and I seperated. It was the most hardest thing I ever went through. I was so emotionally torn. I didnt know what I needed to do anymore. I lost my bestfriend and My life partner.
I used to cry so hard. everyday. I know that sounds stupid. But I really couldnt help be heartbroken. I was honestly devastated.
But after a year of doing drugs and fucking my life up. I got sober. Got back with my partner. and yeah. Happy Ending.
