Another drawn map of one of my foundational childhood games - played it before Resident Evil and Silent Hill, when all my other DOS games were point and clicks or cheesy platformers. I think RE owes a lot to this game design and use of camera angles/etc. While it doesn't have much bite nowadays, the solitude and bizarre polygonal creatures are still special. - Hry
Intriguing. I love '90s games, but I didn't play many horror games at the time. I still played this enough times for it to be memorable, despite not getting very far in the house at all. Maybe I was bad at it, or maybe it was a demo so I wasn't able to anyway. Probably both. I have this (and literally hundreds of other '90s games) that I snatched up for cheap on GOG, so I could give this another shot one day. Maybe this Hallowe'en, as I have been playing a horror game on that day for the past few years.

That was a great trip down memory lane.
I remember completing the game but I somehow never figured to use the soup on the zombies. I ended up fighting them all which was way more difficult.
I never figured out the blanket on the picture until I found a guide at the bookstore. I probably wouldn't have recognized a lot of the words in the documents even!

yes... I assume it will have nothing in common with this except the name Carnby. looks more like RE2 remake... but if it's high quality who cares! maybe it will have fun reimaginings of the more iconic puzzles.

I playing my friends Call of Cthulhu TTRPG game, and I was a plan storytelling the Alone in the dark story. But I can't find a good material. Until now. Your map and interactive videos was helpinful make a good adventure. I hope so my players have fun this scenario.

Another great, complex map to study. You always know which ones to pick. Looking forwars to Souls series stuff (especially Bloodborne) and more Tomb Raider. Or Resident Evil maybe?

Fascinating. I see to remember from previous guides (never completed the game without severe handholding because it's 2spooky4me) that you could read the books from the library above the pentagram on the floor to avoid the instant game over, but I may be thoroughly mistaken!
yes I think you are right, the pentagram is a safe spot, one of the books might hint at that also
amazing, and let me tell you about a little known fact, at 1:40 .. you can close the door like everybody does , or, you can actually push that furniture to block the door as well. That's the only interactive object in that room
Also, you can read de vermis misteriis book, if you step exactly on that special tile in the secret room, anywhere else, it will kill you
and finally at 8:35 you missed the double shortcut that leads you directly to the skull and swords room, avoiding the pillars and everything in between
@@DarkMoe yeah I totally forgot to mention the alternate route (i hate going in the water) but i never knew you could safely read the book on that symbol, still learning things about this game! cool tips. I just watched your 2016 AITD video, lol, that was really good also!

the recent reboot announcement had me going back to it for the first time in years, always wanted to see a map of the house like that. it isn't remembered as much nowadays but in the early 90s it was as essential as myst!
the red book of necronomicon that reduces the life of the character and the secret passage to the third bathroom of the mansion is missing
yeah the secret tunnel in the maze is shown on the map but i forgot to mention it!
@@VGCartography Thank you very much for answering me, CZcams had not notified me, first of all I want you to know that I am not some stupid internet troll, I actually played a floppy version of the game on a Windows 95 or 98 computer where there was a third bathroom where you found the Medusa woman who is mentioned in the first Attic book of the legend of Perseus and Medusa, I have searched endlessly on pages like "the internet archive", "the cutting room floor" and "speed demos archive", please help me or ask any contact or community that exists specialized in the game if anyone else had that version and how to find it, it has a very important nostalgic value for me, thank you from the bottom of my heart
