Turned out great Pappy!!
Thank you Tim! Yours looks awesome too, all the amazing detail you put into it really shows
Fantastic color 💚💚
Thank you 😘 I'll have to find something to paint blue
Beautiful colors! I really dig the scallops and those wheels and tires fit the look perfectly! 😎👍🏾
Thank you! Just like you, I had all these great plans, then lost all motivation till December.
Looks great
Nicely done
Thank you! I had a lot of fun doing this one
Great result!! I really love the color. It sure pops in the sun. A really nice looking build even if it isn’t quit 100% done
Thank you! I didn't plan my building time very well and there are definitely some quirks with this kit. I wasted so much time trying to mask flames. But now I can do a few more extras to it
@@pappytinkers deadlines are no fun anyways! And like you say, now you can get some more stuff added in that you want to!
Sweet! Great build. Like the scallops on the hood too.
Thank you! I loved how the gold base showed through over the silver. I wanted hand drawn flames but I just couldn't get the tape to stay down over all the curves in this
Sweet build, like that green on there!
Thank you! My first time trying the Createx candies. I'm still trying to watch all the builds from this GB lol
Super sharp!!! Love that green!!
Thank you! Now my son wants his bike painted like that LOL
Cool Build, I like that color!
Thank you. It's definitely got some bling to it!
It's a great looking build and I think that paint really looks good.
Thank you Larry! It's been cool looking at all these great builds today. This was my first group build.
Love that green!
Looks a lot like that green on your Harley!
Pretty kewl looking build. That's a good looking color.
Thank you! this was my first time trying to make a hood open like this and using candies on a model. You have a lot of nice looking builds over on your channel that I need to check out, so you got a sub!
You are welcome and that's for the sub dude.
Great Job
Thank you! I had a lot of fun with this, except trying to mask flames LOL
you got a good start with candies Pappy they take some practice to get good at. Candies are difficult to paint. Try mixing the candy color with Createx 4050 UVLS clear to giving it some body it will make it easier to work with. Most Candies will take 5 to 8 coats to fully cover. Good luck painting with the Candies
I had good luck when i did a bunch of spoons candy red a few months ago. But there was a cold snap here, so i was trying to do it at 53 degrees. I mixed it with the 4050, and even a little balancing clear. Kept it all Createx stuff. I think there were 5 coats of the candy. I think it was a combination of a little too thin and too cold. I'm not giving up, but i will wait till it's at least 70 outside lol
I haven’t tried painting candy yet but yours turned out awesome sir very cool looking well done
Thank you! The candies can really pop out in the sun. And make great ghost designs with different base coats. I have a video showing the differences on some spoons
Love that color! Beautiful build! The scallops down the hood add a really nice touch.
Thank you! I looked to see if you had an entry that I missed.. I didn't see one but I did see a few other nice builds, so you got a sub to get you a little closer to that magical number 😁
@@pappytinkers Thanks so much. I do have an entry - czcams.com/video/wpgOwc6pmrk/video.html
and this one which is in more depth - czcams.com/video/wP2TeWJeaXg/video.html Thanks for the sub!
Love your rim and tire combo.. would never know about the Cooper until you said something. I have to go and finish mine also lol Love the color, Great build!
Thank you! I've always wanted a set of the real Gamblers, but this will have to do. I was thrilled that Iceman makes them. I guess it was one of those midnight priming sessions and I grabbed the Cooper instead. I was painting them Saturday night and couldn't figure out why the letters weren't looking right LMAO
Happened again. Just dropping it to say hey !! Great color and truck. All the best. lets see what happens this time around. Subbed you.......again.
That's crazy!! You got naked pictures in the background? An ex trying to make your life miserable? Lol
@@pappytinkers Shit ! For a sec there I thought I had my webcam on and you just looked right past me. Phewww ok it was off. Glad you never seen my blowup doll.
Great looking build the paint looks awesome, the rims & wheels look sharp too!
Thank you! You got a sub for your vid about the GBs/ community and time. well said. It's also important that we remember to continue to enjoy the hobby and not turn it into a job!
Nice looking truck
Thank you! That Camero you posted is a very nice green!
@@pappytinkers thanks first paint job in over 20 years. That Camaro was a redone it was already put together when I got it
that makes it even better, giving an old kit a new life! @@FlashBackModelWerx
Nice green. Wicked pearl lime green? I have not used candy paints yet. Like what you did with the hood,
Thank you! I used the Lime Green Pearl to touch up a few places, it was close enough to the Poison Green Candy 2.0 for places under the hood and little boo boos. The hood hinges were easier than i thought they would be. It was my first time making those
Very nice build
Thank you! Sorry I missed this when you wrote it.
What a beautiful build. Ron
Thank you Ron! I wanted to do flames, but I just couldn't get them to go around the curves like I wanted to. But I still like the way this turned out. You got a sub for all those cool kits you're building!
That's looks great. I love your wheel and tire set up. And that candy paint...wow that's nice!
I just found your vid today and it looks great! I think I like your wheels better than mine LOL I felt the same about how far the hood opened but then I changed the mounts on the hood and got it to open further. This was my first GB and like you, looking forward to the next
@pappytinkers thanks Pappy. I think my prob was I hinged it. I seen guys lift them off but would still sit in the up position.
On mine the main tube and hinges are on the radiator core support. The hinge rod is only long enough to go up the front of the hood, not to the top flat part of the hood. Then I can pull the hood a little more forward so it will tilt pretty close to 90*. Kind of like a 2 position hinge. Ever build that old Monogram tilt front 66 Chevelle? It works kinda like that@@cardzscaledreams3917
I like it brother, I want to try the createx candy color's very much but just haven't pulled the trigger yet.. There's so much can be done with that kit and I've liked what everyone has done.. You did good and I'll be watching for more of your work 😎👍🇺🇸
Nice candy green. In was looking at some of the Creatix paint the other day. Gonna have to try that. I use mostly rattle can. Mines a little closer now. Really bummed I missed the deadline.
Thank you Joe! Nothing wrong with rattle cans, you just get more options with an airbrush. Not just the colors but it's easier to do other effects with them. I've been using airbrushes for 40+ years. IMO Createx is one of the best and most versatile brands. It has some quirks tho, so if you want to try it I can give you some tips
Awesome color! I’ll have to try that paint. Enjoy finishing it. I’ll give you my taillight if you want it.
Thank you! I might take you on that taillight! ... gonna check the yard one more time first. Createx has a few quirks if you haven't used them before, but they have some great how to vids like letting the mixed paint sit for 10-15 min before spraying.. it really does make a difference.
@@pappytinkers my email is in my description on my video. I’ll send them out asap.
That paint is a show stopper….good job….
Thank you! This was my first time doing a candy paint on a model, but it sure won't be my last!
Nice not bad for a first try 😁
Trying to paint and clear this at 53 degrees, it could have.. should have been a lot worse LOL
Great job.. love the color i want to try Createx paint on a build one day
Thank you! I wont say Createx is the best, but it's probably the most versatile. Besides using a brush or spraying, I've airbrushed motorcycle parts, shirts and clothing, wall art, and of course models. Since you seem to know a bit more about the painting, it will also accept automotive clears. And the Candy 2.0 is a dye, not a pigment, so it's not just over reduced paint. The issues I had, I believe was mostly due to trying to use it at about 53 degrees.
@pappytinkers good info, thanks I have never used their candy's, only have use some of there paints on R/C lexan bodies
There are a few quirks with the new clears. Their video suggests waiting 10-15 min after mixing. I can't tell you why, but it does make a difference,@@KRD12K
Nice job what was the psi
I can't say for sure because my hose was leaking in a few places, (I think the Tinker dogs are too blame for that) so I had the regulator cranked up to over 30! I'm just glad I didn't blow out the O rings in the airbrush
Hi. Pappy TinkersCZcams channel videos are very nice. But basically, there are some problems. What you can't realize. Your video is not well-tagged.
For that, you don't have the right viewers. And if you can solve this problem, your channel will get more views and subscribed watch time. Today, basically
the front design of your video is better. A quality design will attract your viewer profit. Hope I have convinced you. I am waiting for your response.
Thank you
That looks gorgeous! I find it pretty cool how the gold shows through the candy. That's another thing I didn't know. But glad I know now. I love the forward tilt hood. I know it gave ya some problems, but it looks boss!
thanks John! Yes, that's one of the cool things about candies. I did a video of a candy red a few months back, showing the difference over like 7 different base colors like gold, silver bronze and a few more. Even the primer color can make a difference. I over thunk the hood for about a month before touching it, but the look is so cool, I'll be doing it again!
