Backyard propane fire pit burner created with galvanized pipe and propane gas burner nozzle’s that were modified. Items bought off of Amazon for under 45 bucks.
Thank you for this video. I made one myself using you're reccomendations and came out great. I have used it 5 or six times now and barely put a dent in my 20 lb propane tank.
FYI, galvanized steel releases toxic zinc fumes when heated above 392 degrees Fahrenheit. Just use plain steel pipe and avoid the galvanized pipe, as once the zinc burns off it rusts the same as regular steel anyway.
I made hundreds of gas beacons for the Queen’s jubilee. If you want a hot flame, you want to introduce extra air like a Bunsen burner or the nozzles you bought. If you just want light, you just need holes, somewhere in the 2mm to 8mm region. It really is very simple to make a burner head for a visible flame, a simple box or tube with holes will do.
This video is awesome. Thanks for sharing. You answered a lot of my questions for my own build. He doesn’t have an air mixer valve installed on this setup like you’d see on a traditional propane burner. He’s relying on the jets (which should create their own Venturi/mixing effect) to do the air/fuel mixing for each burner. The pressure and velocity of the gas coming out of those nozzles is somewhat high, which is what allows the jets to work correctly. I imagine that’s why he bought an adjustable regulator - so he could dial in the pressure. I don’t believe the high price fire pit propane jet burners use a mixing valve. Trying to add one to a jet burner setup wouldn’t be safe. That’s the point of putting jets on this setup - mixing propane/air and throwing the flame efficiently.
You mentioned in your video that you used a 15/16th tap. That would make the hole( where the nozzle goes into ) almost an inch in diameter. I did see the marking on your bit that said, " 5/16th " .. which is what I think you wanted to say.
That’s great. Looking at making my own as well. They want way too much money. I notice it whistles some. What would eliminate that? I heard the hose type? Can you put link to parts? Ty!
hello excellent video and very didactic, I would like to know the exact name of the bronze nozzles and the exact measurement and if it is not too much trouble where can I buy them
When you connect the propane line to the bottom of your burner system, did you use a propane air-mixer valve? ( it's supposed to help with the right 'air-gas mix' for correct burn )
I have built a large gas fire pit with a Gazebo over it. Would these solve my sooting issues? I've just ordered 10 nozzles as a result of finding your video (thank the lord). It's just what I'm after I think. I'm in Scotland and seeing the Crossfire burners at ridiculous prices from Montana, this is the video I've been seeking. My pit is about 32" long rectangular. 6 gate shape piece pipes like a Ferrari gearbox. Air mixer is my problem.
Do you think, in addition to the jets, I could drill a few small holes directly in the pipe to create low-height flames through my fire glass in the fire pit?
Thanks for the video . . .Was wondering . . why did you not purchase the propane jets? BTW, thanks for the vid . . I just completed my natural gas burner and came to youtube for some last minute tips. About to fire it up and wanted to see how others built their burners! :)
Not to be pessimistic....but wait till water get's in there and it rusts and your galvanized rust, thats why they build them out of brass.....just saying

This was awesome, i built one similar to yours. I think the tap size is a 5/16, thank you.
This is awesome! I was wanting to use jets without paying $700

Amazing! thanks for sharing.
Thanks mate much appreciated.

Thnks to share 🤑👍🏻
And now that you've seen the front door, here's the back alley where legit gits r done.
Did you ever consider drilling out the air inlet holes since you increased the size of the gas holes?

This is awesome! Thinking about building a gas pit with a base made out of a large planter. How hot do the pipes get, if at all?

Looks good, how long will a full tank of propane ?
Also if I decide to use natural gas do I still need to drill the hole?
You RULE!
Would you mind posting a follow-up video with it installed in ground?
How far away do you need to stand to feel it?
Great job!
Pleasee
What kind of regulator did you buy?
I built one as well but used black iron pipe. I heard that galvanized isn't good to burn?
NIce, hows the burner still working fine?

It totally does, it's awesome and the gas consumption has plummeted. Nice one, thank you.
How did you connect the line to the pipe?

No....dont do that
Seems good ?
@@EPTRotorsports why not
How long does a 20lb tank last continuous burning
hi did you use air mixer on it??

How did yours go? Any tips
Do you think this design could be used in an indoor fireplace?
FYI, on desktop CZcams the video white exposure is way off, making it really hard to see.
Looks fine on my display

Why use a nozzle? Wasted money. Just drill small holes in the pipe. As long as you use a regulator your good.
"Cheep"? Seriously? Not "cheap"? Do Americans no longer make it past 3rd grade?? How embarrassing. And sad.
