The problem with the frankfurt crime rate statistic is that frankfurt is one of the biggest transportation hubs in europe with many people passing through each day, so there are many crimes of travellers included like at the airport, which is also one of the biggest in europe.

    • @Derschneemananderwand
      @Derschneemananderwand Před 2 měsíci +8

mostly right but there are some smaller mistakes, its not: ''ist es einer gute Stadt'' right would be: ''ist es eine gute stadt''
and your second mistake is that you used the English sentence structure for the ''und so ich denke dass er richtig liegt''
part. That would be the most direct translation possible of ''and so i think that he's right'' but thats wrong the right translation would be: ''und deswegen denke ich dass er richtig liegt'' (there is probably an easier translation but my brain wont think of one so...)
But these are smaller grammar mistakes and every german would know what you mean. Its great that you chose to learn German even though its very difficult, keep up the work!

One thing that puts a host city for me ahead is the location of the stadium. With like Hamburg but especially Munich the stadium is quite far outside of the centre. When stadium is super close to the centre the vibes are on another level and it puts so many things in walking distance so public transport isnt as shit :D.

Agree Gelsenkirchen and Dortmund. Is impossible to put it higher on the list. Grey cities that are coloured only the weekends thanks to the local football clubs. A plus for sure is that everything is cheap there and for event organisation those cities are pretty good at it.
Berlin 8th? Are u conservative? Come on. The capital belongs to the top 3 for sure. Lot of space, amazing stadium, perfect organisations with the s-bahn and not expensive for all. Probably for me is gold medal for host people for the tournament.
Stuttgart belongs to 8th position. The city is super nice and sunny but the traffic, the smog and the whole construction sites like the central train station are irritating. Logistically for host people from other countries in a big amount is a disaster.
Munich 7th. City really elegant but superexpensive. To reach the stadium u need a lot of time because is next to the autobahn outside the city. Cool for a weekend visit. Not more or u become poor.
Düsseldorf 6th like Munich in little but less brutal for the budget.
Köln 5th. Friendliest city in Germany? Prob yes. City fascinating too...but for big events is complicated and risky. If one bridge on the rhine river is blocked u are stucked in the traffic without alternatives. The same for trains.
Hamburg 4th. Colossus city. Well organised and the stadium is not difficult to reach. But the prices? Really expensive and the weather is not cool. Sun in Hamburg is never constant and the city is dirty too.
Frankfurt 3rd. Ok dirty and full of junkies at the central station. But if u avoid that the city for big events is really well organised. Not expensive, lot of night life and the way to reach the stadium is easy.
Berlin 2nd. Is enourmous and dirty...but wich big city isn't it...great metropole, good organised for an enormous amount of people. For low budget travel is perfect. Not expensive (except for few clubs) and for such a big tournament like Euro 2024 in terms of logistic Berlin earns the gold medal. Unfortunately in the last years the scam percentage increased a lot and to book a cheap hotel it became quite risky.
Leipzig 1st. For me the city is quite perfect. Nice city centre, not expensive, good traffic Organisation (for private and public) and the story is fascinating too. I can't find negative things about Leipzig.

The problem is, you visited these cities probably during normal times maybe not even during tourist season. But the Euro is a major event. Hamburg and Berlin have the advantage that points of interest are distributed over a larger area, especially in Berlin. All other cities are very centralized, so visitors will be crowded on few spots. Munich and Cologne are used to this, because they are popular for tourism and have big events on their own. During those it is quite difficult, to find places which are relaxing and interesting at the same time.

Two great host cities were snubbed by the DFB: Bremen and Hannover. Both would be way up there in any ranking.

Ich habe gehört, dass es in München sehr chaotisch sein soll und außerdem ist das Stadion sehr weit weg von der Innenstadt. Das fällt hier irgendwie gar nicht ins Gewicht.
