Not a cult! So sayeth the one, true Diane & her Herald Chewie
1:17 😂
From the Harold Browning film "Freaks."
I hope you got some ad revenue. This video had 4 ads when I watched it.
This concert is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the one with the most people who wanted to go to the concert, which is 20 million.....
Yes! And to expand on that, over 20,000,000 people put into the lottery hoping to score one of the available 20,000 tickets. An unprecedented phenomenon… just like the band itself.
Wow... Not surprising but... WOW!...
Thanks for the perspective. :)
Only 18,000 tckets available then.
I don’t have the words in my vocabulary to express the sheer majesty of this epic masterpiece.
I hear ya! I just recently "rediscovered" this song at 58. Sure, being my age, I've heard it who know how many times in my life. But here a few months ago, I pulled it up on a whim and really paid attention to what was going on, and it was like I was hearing it for the first time. Lyrics aside, the way this song is constructed, and how you're basically "yanked" from one chorus to the next, only to have everything start all over again and again. . . Simply ingenious. And as awesome as this live performance is, the studio version, what with its orchestra backing, is also worth listening to.
I've chosen Led Zeppelin over Rolling Stones all of my 50+ years.
i second that!
never did see them, wish I could have, only band in my opinion above Led was the Beatles.
Led Zeppelin is the best band ever. Best singer, guitarist, bassist and drummer came together to form the perfect band.
Das stimmt zu 100 %
I know for a breif moment there was talk of a Led Zeppelin tour with Jason on drums but Robert Plant wasn't interested. I never saw them live one of my I wish along with Pink Floyd...
Jammu and Kashmir is a region in India that they and Pakistan fought several wars over. The drummer is Jason Bonham, the son of Zeppelin's original drummer, John. John Bonham is generally considered one of the best drummers in the history of Rock music.
Great info! Thanks Sam
That region is where the cloth comes from
@@BugzysEvilDeeds oh Georgie!
you bet! Bonzo was the BEST!!!
John Bonham was brilliant. I was absolutely heartbroken when he died, and will always remember where I was at the moment I heard.
You've forgotten to mention that the three original members of Led Zeppelin, greatest band ever, were all in the sixties when they performed that legendary version of kashmir. And yes, kashmir is their best song. #ledzeppelinforever
Hey it's the older GOATS!! these guys could be 100 yrs old and still rock it!! The best to ever play rock n roll IMO. RIP JOHN BONHAM
I've been a fan of Zepp since 1970. This was one of their later songs. Fun fact: The drummer in this video is Jason Bonham whose dad John Bonham was Zeppelin's original drummer. He died in 1980 from pulmonary aspiration after drinking heavily during the day.
Great reaction! Love to see you rocking out to some of my favorite music.
Yass! I luv to do stuff you enjoy
fun fact: Robert plant is also a New Zealander called Dave Dobbyn. call me loyal.
@@DogFish-NZ LOL, I see what you did there... 😂
the band died that day too as they knew there was no replacing john
Been a fan of Zeppelin since 1973.
Did you know that 20 million people tried to buy tickets for this Celebration Day concert
NADA TIENE VALOR POR SÍ MISMO. EL SER HUMANO ES QUIEN LE ASIGNA UN VALOR...ALGÚN DÍA PODRÁS HABLAR CON LA VERDAD
This is my favorite Zeppelin song, from when I first heard it 45 years ago back in high school up to today.
This version from 2006 just solidifies that as it sounds just as epic as it did way back then.
I sued to listen to my Zeppelin albums in my room. With lights off, sitting on a pillow on the floor with headphones. Kashmir was the song that always made feel like I was on a journey to distant lands. I could feel flying over the world to this land and it was so amazing to listen to at 16.
The most majestic piece of music you will ever hear. I'm so glad that Jason is as good at this as his dad. Bonzo would be proud of him.
The poster below has been reported. Spoofing Diane's account if I guess correctly.
Having been to Northern Africa and the Middle East, that’s what this reminds me of.
Wow. I've heard this song many times since the first time back in 1975. It never ceases to amaze me the creativity and subtlety these guys have. To hear a song for the millionth time and also hear it for the first time is gratifying. Peace.
That’s so unique! I appreciate it 😊
In high school from 1972. I began listening to Zeppelin abums in 73 and since I lived in nowhere USA in northern Illinois we basically never really saw or knew much of bands except for the music. Zeppelin was my favorite because of their music. So above anyone else to this day. Only now I can see them and watch concerts online here on CZcams. It has given me what I did not have access to in the 70s.
Best and most versatile band ever. Led Zeppelin.
Diane has been on a journey for the past year
To expand the knowledge in her musical sphere
After a live version of Led Zeppelin’s Kashmir
She has now leveled up, to the next tier
Woohoo 🎉
Has it actually been a year yet?… Oh, yeah! I was in the old apartment.
@@DianeJennings I think Pink Floyd was your first music reaction and that was in January 2023
Is there a next tier?
Arguably never a next tier above Zeppelin, I think that's next tier of Diane's knowledge in her brain-head-box.@@geoffsimpkins7650
@@geoffsimpkins7650 If she's listening to Zeppelin, she's already on the top tier!
Diane, just something I've not read in the comments so far. JPJ on the keyboards is playing the Bass riff with his feet using pedals. (The man is multitalented). Enjoyed your reaction.
Reading Led Zeppelins Lyrics on the Song Kashmir its very poetic. Happiness starts from within to keep happy through the journey of life.
One of my all time favorite LZ songs. It's amazing to see 59 year old Robert Plant sounding just as good as he ever did in his 20s. Outstanding!
Led Zeppelin should, whenever possible, be enjoyed live. They are in fact a jam band. The presentation of the tunes varies from show to show.
Moby Dick live is the only way to hear that song
No interpretation but it’s been my favorite song for most of my life. 40 plus years.
Kashmir is/was the third most popular & played song on the air waves
👁☝️
Kashmir is an epic masterpiece and so much so that numbers do not matter. It's just different.
Kashmir has always been one of my favorite Zeppelin songs. It just has such a mystical atmosphere to it. It's awesome that you're enjoying this musical journey, Diane.
I've seen pretty much every live version of the song and this might be the best ever recorded. Even in his 60's Robert Plant still sounds amazing, he can't hit the very high notes he used to but he's so much more in tune with his voice that it resonates in a completely different way.
People wonder why disco grew to be so hated. It's not that disco is necessarily that bad, it's just that it crowded truly great music like this off of the airwaves.
"All I see turns to brown
As the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand
as I scan this razed land"
One of my favorite verses in music.
MJ~
You need to be corrected.
"As I scan this wasted land."
I remember Led Zeppelin from the 70's, I was 16 years old in 1976 when their movie The Song Remains The Same came out, and I was blown away by it. A few of my friends and I all smoked a bunch of weed and went to see it in the theater, and it was awesome. They had 3 of the best ever, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Bonham.
Jeez, Dont forget J.P.J., who was a clasically trained musician, & equally as good as the other 3.
Same. And I am the same age too.
Knowing what was going on at the time, the line " My Shangri la beneath the summer moon" is " mind sapping".
Lets not forget JPJ is playing bass with his feet while playing the keyboards. All of them are music gods.
One of the best songs. Drums, guitar riffs, singing all rocked.
Absolutely!! Well noted
An amazing time in music. Several established and upcoming rock bands were given complete creative control to make their own music.
My personal favorite is ‘when the Levee breaks.’
A great bluesy tune with the most sampled beat in history.
Awesome song written by Memphis Minnie in 1928. Title song of one of her albums. Love led Zeppelins cover of it
Your enthusiasm makes this old guy smile. Keep it up. These old guys can still rock probably even to this day
@@user_officialDiane why for?
6:26 I'm so glad that yopu heard and recognized that note. . .
How many people could hold a note THAT LONG, THAT WELL, IN TUNE, with THAT amount of power? Let alone a guy in his SIXTIES!
One of the most iconic riffs in rock music. Instantly recognized by any rocker. So glad you are educating yourself Dianne, keep it up!!
🎶!!!
Kashmir is simply a crescendo from start to end .... Really Really Just Simply Awesome
a complete musical trip
This live version I had never heard before, Hats off to these guys for playing this iconic song for the kajillionth time without going "meh". It's always fascinating to see one of these get out of CZcams Jail. :)
😂 it woulda sucked if they went meh 😂😂😂
This review of Classic rock n roll is very positive like all Classical music. The first time I heard Kashmir was on the Celebration Day album. I was totally blown away, it stood out vividly amongst the other songs. Then I heard earlier versions but this takes the cake. Well done Lass !! ❤❤
I've heard the original song of Led Zeppelin Kashmir. This is my first time hearing the live theatre version on celebration day. I am so glad I got to hear it for the first time with You. You have been helping me expand my musical journey too that brings me great happy joy.
Aww that’s so great to hear thank you Rickey!
@@DianeJennings Your always welcome Diane!
These guys were a perfect storm. 4 virtuosos, who together became SO much more than the sum of their parts.
When Bonham died unexpectedly in 1980, that was it- game over. Zeppelin was THOSE FOUR GUYS. Without him, there was no more band.
They've done a few one offs in the years since, but thats it. The surviving 3 have gone on to do many other things as solo artists, with other bands, etc. Jonesey, for example, formed Them Crooked Vultures with Dave Grohl, and Josh Homme. Page had a band called the Firm, with Paul Rodger, from Bad Company.
If you like rock, like this, definitely check out: Bad Company; Triumph; Foghat;. also bands like Gov't Mule, and Blackberry Smoke.
Mule has a ton of albums out- mostly as a way to introduce fans to new songs- to come see live. Live is where they are at their best! Additionally, they do covers like nobody else. Wanna make a great song better? Have Warren Haynes and The Mule cover it! Theres a huge variety to choose from online, but be careful- thats a VERY deep rabbit hole to go down!
An absolute rock classic. One of the greatest numbers ever. It beats 'Stairway' all of the way. (I love Stairway as well)
My good friend is in a pub quiz team with Robert (when he is not touring) She always tells me about the evening. Not gonna say where the club is before anyone asks !
The video you watched has the original drummer's son on drums. When LED lost their drummer John Bohnam, the band disbanded because they felt he was irreplaceable. It was so good to see them get back together with his son. If you want to try a bit different take of them listen to the song Battle of Evermore. I see you reacted to Stairway to Heaven, you should also check out the Kennedy Center Honors LED Zepplen. The last song of the award ceremony was done by Heart, along with a full orchestra and choir, it is a tear jerker. Jason Bohnam, John's son, made a surprise appearance and played the drums for the song. Best cover ever.
You're turning into a real rocker, Diane!
Kashmir is the region of India where cashmere originally came from. One word is derived from the other.
Ahmet Ertegun was a record executive who co-founded Atlantic Records. He discovered and promoted many great performers, including Ray Charles, Ben E. King, Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Percy Sledge, Aretha Franklin, and Wilson Pickett. In an industry full of snakes, he was one of the few who was loved by the creatives.
I'd love for you to react to more black performers. The black contribution to American music is immeasurable. Some performers and songs that would be good to react to:
Ray Charles - What'd I Say
Hit the Road Jack
Unchain My Heart
The Temptations - Papa Was a Rollin' Stone (I like the long album version best - it's almost 12 minutes long, though the shorter single is also great)
Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)
My Girl
Aretha Franklin - A Natural Woman (You Make Me Feel)
Respect
Chain of Fools
James Brown - Papa's Got a Brand New Bag
I Got You (I Feel Good)
Get Up Offa That Thing
Stevie Wonder - Superstition
I Wish
Living for the City
And Ben E King!
Good info thanks Jeff.

🇨🇦 What I believe is that this track has always shaken the world of Music !
It is a beautiful song that captures your heart and soul. It is truly an experience.
Glad to see Diane getting into and learning about GREAT Rock songs older than than herself. 🎉🎉
One of Rock’s greatest hard rock bands! Very interested in your reaction!
Poob!
That`s the way to perform a Classic rock anthem. When you have listened to it 1,000 times, you will FEEL it, the way us fans feel it.
❤ Led Zeppelin. That concert was epic! Try out the group OK Go. I know you will like them.
What is there left to say? It checks every box as one of the most important masterworks in rock history. Fun reaction.
Quick fact: There were over 20 million requests for tickets to the concert that you just watched footage of the song Kashmir. It garnered a Guinness Book of World Records entry. Imagine the amount of money they could have made had they chosen to tour that show globally.
i was one of them
At 7:00 it is interesting see Plant changed the lyrics. Instead of singing "Leave the path that led me to that place" he sings "Who is the band that led me to this place" while pointing to Jones and Page. Lovely little tribute
Kashmir is known to me more through its use in many films, than as a stand along song. It is great for building tension and seems perfect in so many soundtracks. Robert Plant vocals seemed more like another instrument in the mix than a method of conveying a story. To be honest, I found many of the lyrics unintelligible, so never bothered to learn what they were. This reaction told me some of what the interpretations were and still don't care. The overall musicality of the song is what I love. Diane was once again groovin to the beat and that made this reaction even better. Chewie just wanted Diane to feed him, he don't need no background music to enjoy diner. Enjoyed this I did.
Absolutely! He doesn’t care about music. BUT he really liked twinkle twinkle little star ⭐️
The song makes more sense the second time if you listen to version with captions & lyrics. I couldn't make heads or tails of what Plant was saying the first time I heard it either!
WOW! Just Grand, Diane! I was fortunate enough to see LZ a few times and I can attest that seeing bands live is just a life thrill that's hard to beat. Yes, it is Theatre; of the Mind, of the Ears, and also of the Soul. A number of concerts have literally change my life, all for the better!
It is certainly a blast to watch you react to the music I grew up with and enjoy. This is actually the fourth LZ song you've done (Whole Lotta Love, Immigrant Song, Stairway to Heaven) and the journey has only just begun. About 50 songs on, it's like a handful of sand from the modern music beach! I look forward to the next great experience you have to share.
Rock On, Irish Girl! Let's Dance!! 💃🕺🥳
I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! I got a taste for them 😊
Led Zeppelin is a great band, Hope you discover more of the great performances of the past.. enjoy
Thank you again for another great Video.

😮 Great reactions. Love watching your shows.
Happy Monday! I really love this video. Have a great week.
Absolutely incredible song and performance. That said, the studio version with the orchestra backing is something to hear as well!
I love how you get into these songs . . . You go girl . . . Rock on!
Thanks Diane! What a great song! With the driving beat and melody I can't help but bop my head. Enjoy your trip to London!
Glad you enjoyed it! ⭐️
I was at this concert and it was truly unforgettable! Great reaction and content!
Lucky bastard.... 🤣
I was in the lottery for the 20,000+ tickets but I didn't win. With 10 million people applying, the odds were not in my favor. You did well to get yours. Having seen them twice before back in the day and Page and Plant again during their Unleaded tour I think I did alright actually but it still would have been wonderful to see them again. I've had to settle for the Celebration Day BluRay which is actually the next best thing.
20 million people. I was in the lottery too, didn't get one.@@LANPartyAnimal
@@LANPartyAnimal Very lucky to see them back in the day. The 2007 gig was unbelievable and it was literally like winning the lottery. The DVD/Bluray really does it justice too. True legends.
Awesome react Diane you are Brilliant as always! Keep up the Awesome work and as always please stay safe!
Thanks!
As a hardcore Led Zeppelin fan it is enjoyable watching you react to their music with an open mind and appreciating their musical genius. I would love to see and hear what you think of a couple other songs. Please take a listen to "Since I've Been Loving You" live at Madison Square Garden in New York City in July 1973, and 'Dazed and Confused' in front of a sold out crowd, live at Royal Albert Hall in 1970.
I look forward to your reactions and reviews.
One of my favorite songs
I enjoy learning with You and You reading What Zed Zeppelins Kashmir was about from the bands thoughts on making the song and the lyrics.

My to go song from Led Zepplin this show they just kick ass legends Diane love your reaction
I've been a big fan of Led Zeppelin since they first came along in the late 60s. Amazing band.
One of the greatest live performances of all time Diane!! Apparently there were 20 million ticket requests for the O2 concerts. Staggering. Thank you for covering.
I never really thought about the mseaning of the lyrics. I just seem to keep getting hypnotized by the rhyrm of the instrumentals.
You have to be one of the more animated music reactors I have seen. Watched you more than the music video. Enjoyed it.
That is actually a huge compliment! Thanks 😊
🤓 I always like knowing the meaning
Check out this remake
"When the Levee Breaks" is a country blues song written and first recorded by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy in 1929. The lyrics reflect experiences during the upheaval caused by the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927. "When the Levee Breaks" was re-worked by English rock group Led Zeppelin
Shangri las was a also a girl band in the 1960s. they have a lot of good jams. I think of them as the original spice girls group the came out in the 1990s. The best album to listen too the Shangri's Las the complete collection their songs are really good.
Great classic song fun watching Diane rock out 😂😂❤
Led Zeppelin uses the word Shangri Las in there lyrics. Shangri's Las means a imaginary paradise aka happy place.
Thanks for the video
Fantastic reaction!
Such an amazing song. I have zero music ability so it blows my mind that someone can just create this song from nothing.
That’s a really beautiful way of looking at it!
I'm enjoying your musical journey Diane! 👍🎹😉
Lovin it now as much as then.❤

Great song by one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time. So glad you enjoyed it.
Next on your musical jouney, ZZ Top. You might try the song Sharp Dressed Man to begin.
Keep on rockin', Diane!
celebration day was an epic ode to their much older concerts. how good you are going down the worm hole of the doors , zeplin and hopefully bob dylan 🙏
This is my favorite rock song of all time.
The way it mixes in south Asian sounds with rock is just fantastic.
In the studio version of this song, Page played the guitar with a violin bow. He said it took a lot of rosin.
Excellent performance by the old guys showing how it's done. This is their best song, not that one about a Stairway. I always thought the song was about a journey to Shangri-la. But to each his own. Fun reaction, thanks for sharing. 😊🎉❤
I love Robert Plant's voice. I never really listened to LZ , but I have a couple of his solo recordings & he's quite a singer. Thanks
I saw him solo a couple times. They were both great shows

You might also like led zeppelin whole Lotta love. I love their music for how visionary it is.
I’m glad you chose this particular version. It’s from the last night they ever stood on stage together as Led Zeppelin. It was a one night one time only deal. They had split up after the death in 1980 of their drummer John Bonham. Though the band was only around for 10 years, technically they Left an impression on the world that is still felt to this day. The drummer in this clip is Jason Bonham. The son of John Bonham. I think he’s a bit as good as his dad honestly. I think even today if the members got back together They would still be able to sell out Arenas around the world. People still love Led Zeppelin. Like I said to be together for such a short time, they had a huge impact on music and the world. One of my absolute favorite bands as a young person.
living in Australia it the best long distance driving ever. Did Sydney to home in Perth in the early 90s mostly Led Zep all the way across 4500 across, im 67 and still a huge fan.
Three guys that could walk into any room on the planet and leave with your woman.
Never listened to Led Zeppelin until college. Growing up, I was too young for the most part and when I started listening to music I was into Punk and New Wave. My roommate in college played Zeppelin all the time, maybe a bit too much. They go into the category of great band once in a while. Great reaction Diane!
An interesting fact for you, Diane. The drummer in the performance you watched is Jason Bonham, the son of the original drummer John Bonham. Love these videos. Keep up the great work,Diane.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The last 2 months I've been listening to a lot of Led Zeppelin, so this fit right in. I think Chewie likes it also.
