Haven’t exactly figured out how we’re going to remodel the kitchen but it will happen eventually. Thanks for the ideas though.😁

I love watching videos of brocantes in France so l'm weird too. Until the day comes that l can do it myself there l live vicariously through those who are sharing their videos of hunting for treasures. My dream is to live in France one day. I find it absolutely enchanting. It feeds my creative soul with so much inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

There are truly are some treasures to be found. We have a few other Broncantes we’re going to visit over the summer. One near Saint Emilion that can’t be missed!

Thank you for Another excellent posting. I too appreciate French culture and others that value extending life for articles that are used and perhaps old. It’s appalling how easily we’ve become a throwaway culture with designed obsolescence and ever changing styles and fashions. I live in Cape May in a house that was built in 1890. Rather than tearing it down, Ive brought it back making certain the electrical and plumbing system were brought up to code, windows and roof inspected and repaired, garage refurbished and landscaping updated. It’s been professionally painted with historically accurate color and furnished with items and furniture I’ve found at second hand stores and estate sales. There are no closets so I found perfect used cedar closets for the bedrooms and added a first floor bathroom using a galvanized tub and galvanized shower walls which have worked perfectly while maintaining the charm of an old farmhouse.
Please keep up with your excellent and inspiring channel. Perhaps we will meet sometime during one of my return trips to France. All best…Joe.

Thank you so much for the nice comments. It is really refreshing to see a culture that just doesn’t dispose of everything.

@@FrenchStoneHouseLife there’s a lot of “yard sales” going on here in and around cape May. Very popular. But some of my favorite thrifting in France have been at Clinaquort flee markets (marché aux puces) and others outside paris in Issy les moulineaux.

I absolutely love seeing all the Brocantes. They are somewhat similar to the Flea Markets in the United States. I have spent entire days looking for treasures. ❤

We love going to brocantes, vide greniers, etc, whenever we leave the US and come to France. Can't imagine a more perfect way to spend a day!

first l thought if it's a good ldea to go public with the housing prices in france cause prices go up when strangers buy , but the french don't wanne live on rural towns. So l guess it dosn't matter anyway . You seem to be some friendly folks and l wish you all the best.
l love france. Cheers from Germany

It’s true, many French people don’t want to live far away from the city. We on the other hand, live in a busy city part of the year so it’s a very nice change.

not sure if you have a list of furniture you are looking for with acceptable measurements- I am in the states but I keep a list and measuring tape with me to make sure I am able to really jump on deals ( thrift, side of road, hand me down etc). Love your home.

I love thrifting. How exciting it would be to thrift in France, especially the small towns like yours. I saw so many lovely items, unique bits & bobs. All those odd shaped cups were cool. I would have bought a couple of them, maybe a toothbrush holder, or display on a coffee bar or small vase. Very nice soothing video!

There really is a plethora of very unique vintage items here in France. It’s always surprising to see all the items. We could easily package up 90% of it and make a business in the US. Thank you for the nice video comments.
