Those Falcon utes were bullet proof. The outback model ute was a great concept and certainly proved itself.
i remember when these came out, i wanted one so badly even though i wasn't a Farmer or a Tradie, i just thought it was a tough and cool ute lol (still do)
I love these as well but I prefer the VS ute
As someone who owned an XG (but just a GLi), the Outback was always the dream iteration, especially with a five speed.
I like these but I prefer the Holdens
@@EveryThingCars53 the Commodore Utes of the time weren’t built for purpose like these were. With how I treated my XG, a Commodore Ute would’ve fallen to bits while the XG took it in its stride.

Yeah, I had one of these for 15 years, and took it to places it shouldn't have never been, I miss the old girl. Dam those three trees and the stump, wasn't a straight panel left on it and bloody hell it hurt.

Tiny's gunna need a bigger hat
I had the XE. Powerful and comfortable, but it had a tiny, useless cargo area, as illustrated here. Without tie rails running down the side, you also can't secure loads properly with rope.
A Thai built ute with tabletops are far more practical, and it what most choose now.
Still, i wish Ford and Holden still built utes, among other things, here.

I liked them at the time. However, watching the video I've got to say.. What brainiac thought it was a good idea to have the fresh air intake facing forward over the radiator support panel in a vehicle expected to occasionally cross creeks/rivers? 🤦
