No driver's license required!
You can legally drive them in bike paths and (the company says) through shopping centers
They all feature a Honda engine of either 160 cc or 200 cc
There are 4 different models, and almost all are manufactured to custom specifications according to the owners' desires
The most expensive of the 4 models, the Inrij-Canta, is specifically built to be driven by someone still in their wheelchair. The chair wheels into the rear door and then right behind the steering wheel.
The Dutch version can reach speeds up to 50 kmh (30 mph), while a German electric model only goes half that speed, and a UK version goes up to 70 kmh, which evidently are the respective maximums for novelty vehicles or vehicles for invalids. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
The Canta is the only one of the mini-cars that can drive on the bike paths, the regular roads (not the super highways) and park on the sidewalks. The other mini-cars can't.
We have those microcars and other 400-550cc diesel plastic cars in Finland. They're called ''mopoauto'' and they're popular among teenagers.
sverige Finland ochså holland where i also drive a canta
hahaa nice to see you like them. they're also popular at our country because if your 16, you may drive those 'cars' without a drivinglicense
The car at the end is a very different model. It's a Aixam, a french company better known under the name of Matra. These microcars measure 2,8 meters and have four seats! Depending on the engine, they can reach 120 km/h or may be limited to 30 km/h. Plastic and a Steele frame. The diesel models are easily distinguished by their tuc-tuc noise. The slow versions are very popular among french retired people and one will find them mainly in the rural regions of France.
Het is geen aixam -_-
I love the last car.
Thanks for the suggestions you have shared here.
Wheelchair...I love it.
I searched street legal wheelchair to find a guy speeding down the street in a high tech wheelchair but this is cool too
Will be looking forward to it thanks.
Theo are 45 km/h not mp/h ;)
It's Dutch indeed, handmade by Waaijenberg
Hey man it was a cool video anyway. I really enjoyed it.
This kind of videos should be produced by the serious, knowledgeable people, who are able to properly,in not too many words inform the interested population!?
Takes one to know one!?Ever heard that before?
That's really a shit way to behave when you're representing your business online.
the last microcar you showed is called 'Brommobiel' and you need a moped drivers license for it
When I was in Holland in April & May I wanted to bring one home to Canada with me. Just wouldn't want it in the winter lol.
Want one in california so bad haha
Haha thay are cool to drive , i had the oppurtunity to do that once and it was funny! There great for older people
This is indeed a tiny car for disabled people. That's why it's called a 'disabled's car'.
nice
those are cool yes the Journey is here at least in Canada
Only 3000 exist today! They have a 4 horsepower lawn mower engine (Honda GX200)
Please reply to me , can I drive this little car in uk without a Licence , I'm 53 years , I can't see the number plate at 75 feet away i can not do it . , but please reply all my life for a tiny car I'm aloud to drive .
Actually it's kinda complicated because it's like a microcar but the law over here made it so it's a mobility scooter so yeah I don't think it's legal in the UK
i want one!
What was the name of that little cool micro car at the end? I wanted to see more about them on the net but I did not catch the name when you said it.
Thanks
The tail lights are from first series of Renault Express maybe
Why don't they have things like this in the US?
I would get one in a second!
Because it would take sales from the other automakers.
they have the same rules as a moped in the Netherlands, so thats why they stand on the sidewalks, and don't go faster than 45 km/h.
Canta canta don't you want a canta canta, mmm hmm. (fanta fanta)
In Belgium, we have one "famous" brand called "Aixam" which is also one of those "Licence Free" car which can only go upto 45 KPH (no MPH) but this is strictly for city driving, don't try to make a road trip with... it hasn't the autonomy for.
Thoses cars in Belgium have a very bad reputation : Too noisy, for dangerous driver or old people, for a several kind of people with bad reputation but is good for young people for the first km without being 18.
And for handicapped vehicles like the Canta or an electric wheelchair you dont need a driverlicense. Everyone aged 16 or older can legally drive a Canta. I see you really like em, i do to i even had one when i was 16 a very old one called Arola20 (its the oldskool version of the canta) wich had an 50cc sachs engine in it. Made alot of noise lol, now i drive a car like the rest of the world :P I would like to buy a canta sometimes to tough... and just drive it to the mall :P no parkingmoney
coooooooool
Hey !! My car !!! LOL
check import laws here in Canada I think it is older than 15 years or something so now we sometimes see these little Japanese and occasionally Korean micro cars or Kei cars. one of the interesting ones is the Autozam AZ1 Autozam ia actually Mazda but the car was actually related to Suzuki I forget the details but I do remember it has gull wing doors and the side of it looks kind of like a tiny Ferrarri worth checking the various Kei cars out though pictures if you get the chance
I need to get one
What is the wheelchair model of this car? What is USD price for the wheelchair model? Are the wheelchair models available in the USA?
There dutch made, but they have 160cc honda engines in them (luxury version 200cc) and ur able to put even 360cc in them (just a litle mods i think not sure) And the yellow car on 2:16 is called an amica 1100. The last one (microcar) isnt like the canta this is another specific vehicle (called mopedcar) wich you do need a driverlicense to drive (mopedlicense) and you have to pay for parking it is categorized under motorvehicles. A Canta is an ''handicap''vehicle they can park on the sidewalk
That little yellow one is an Amica 1100. Thinks it's an Italian manufacturer
They are 45 KM/H not Miles :P They are specialy made for older people. You can put a wheelchair in the backdoor. You still have to have a moped license and insure it.
Oh, since you're in Amsterdam. Did you get to see the pot-shops and do they only sell to citizens of Holland or do they sell to over 18s or 21s?
they sell to anyone over 18
What was the name of the cool looking silver one at the end?
Thanks
Welcome to holland , I hate those cars , they are blocking traffic all the day , hahaha.
Amsterdam mens
I'm getting there not 53 yet but almost and I still rely on it to get around it's just not in the USA yet
we have a car like this in American,it is electric and fast.It is called the Tango
united state have it canta lx mini car? or order website?
cantas are not really well appreciated outside of Amsterdam i live in Drenthe and most people complain about me violating the rules being on the cyle lane and stuff or just complain because it’s weird for them
microcar is nice
We need micro cars and cantas and others so we can get around
7-15 miles per day? You are some kind Christopher McCandless??? :D
That's "French" brands (there's others like jdm, ligier, microcar,...) with their reputation (hopefuly, is being more better than before which had the noise of a plane)
Even if I have a bike, and if I drove in I'd look like a nob but like the peel p50, I FUCKING WANT IT.
sorry what I meant was, you can't see em on the road at night. they are very poorly lit. :-)
With the price of gas the way it is, let alone the price of petrol, this may be all we'll be able to afford to run. Still, the bankers will still have their Rolls Royces.
Obviously you can get a handicap insignia or license for this car, but I don't see where it's at all wheelchair accessible like some newer designs that are coming out where you drive your wheelchair right up to the steering wheel, lock in, and off you go. A bit of mislabeling on the description. Cute car though.
I dont know if that would be allowed just anywhere else best thing I can do is just put a canapy on my powerchair. If I was using a Canta I would have a way to store stuff on the roof.
5.28 is NOT a Canta
Heeft hij ook nooit gezegd.
I saw some guy sleeping in one of these parked on a sidewalk in Greece
Yeah if you see those you know you are in the Netherlands
You need to be 16 years old to drive this.
Oh it sounds like you say it right at the start of videoing it.
biggest issue with these is that they only have to comply with the moped rules.... not the car rules yet they drive on b-roads ... the rest goes about 80 to 100 kph and they are doing 45.... with hardly any taillights. I almost killed a few of these with my US import 300SD. not that I would have felt anything though :-)
yellow might be notor pad to
I could use one of these.
Cereal Marshmallows Though it would make it harder for my kid to realize how much I'm in pain. She knows that the slower I walk, the more in pain I am in. I'm currently using a cane and have to wear braces to get around. And most I can travel at one time is about 1/4 of a mile.
But I do believe that in the US a license would be required.
Folks who drive mopeds here need to have a license. But then that is Minnesota for ya.
i wish order shipping in united state
It's named a 'Canta'
You want to sell this canta ????
canta lx sounds like cant a legs
They have dodge Journey's at home hahaha
45 KP/H in place of 45 MP/H
Man Europeans has it good over there what do we do when our politics dies
Says that to our presidents
That should pass the law to our president and make micro cars and use cantas and others micro small vechicles
ik vind de canta een leuk model invalidevoertuig
Are these Chinese cars?
NO IDIOT THEY ARE DUTCH
motor pad
They would not be street legal if you drive back home. They all have 45K limits.
thumbs if you want to junp one!
$5700
CORRECTION: They can't go 45mph, they can go 40kmh which is near 25-27mph and can not be taken on freeways.
I know some people who are psychopaths on wheels in this type of vehicle.
I am Dutch and I don't really like these Cantas all that much.
wtf
these suck.... you can't see em on the road, they are usually driven by people that had their license taken away due to old age or inexperience....
..
Your just one of those not knowing
