Yes Edwardian era is so underrated for classics and historical fiction!
Right!
Our Mutual Friend should be at the top of your Dickens list! It's my favorite
Oh good to know!!
Whoa, it's really impressive how few books you buy/obtain per year! I don't think I buy too many books in comparison to a lot of people on booktube, but I did track all my book purchases in 2022 and I bought 23 books. How do you resist buying new books to such a degree? Usually I try not to buy books I don't know if I'll love/re-read but sometimes a pretty cover/interesting story or just wanting to support an author I like will get me.
The simple answer is I just can't afford new books. They are so expensive and I don't have the income. I'm super fortunate to have a good library system. My roommate and I have three libraries between us and they have six more interconnected libbys. So I'm lucky that if I'm patient I'll eventually get to read most books and also buy most books. Turtles is a great example of this. I read it through my library in 2017 and then bought it for 3 dollars in 2021.
But there's definitely books I've been waiting to read for years or the strange thing that I don't own most of my favourite books. But I make do and am pretty content.
@@KierTheScrivener That's very fair! I'm glad you're in such a good position with your roommates! Love the community teamwork
