I've seen three people in concert in my life: Foo Fighters, Sleigh Bells, and Alex Lahey. You can't argue against the first two bands, but Alex is amazing

Her lyrics are genuine and the music is authentic. Whatever bands she may sound like simply show their influence on her, same as all of us writing music. I heard some jerk Gen X-er recently rail against Cage the Elephant, that they're a copycat of The Pixies. I doubt they're playing the Pixies nonstop on their tour bus, studying their sound and saying to themselves, "We're the next f*cking Pixies, guys!" Some people just want to bitch and moan. So what if she reminds you of the Gin Blossoms? At the very least, it's a good association, no? Not like friggin' Greta Van Fleet, who, despite their fantastic playing, truly ARE imitating Led Zeppelin. Not an easy feat, but far from authentic, in my opinion. If they grow out of that into their own sound, and he ditches the Plant impersonation, I think they'll turn a corner for the better.
What a crappy song, I hate this kind of music. It's basically the worst kind of music I've ever bothered listening too, it had soul? I hate soul in my music, I like tiny childish nursery rhymes, and music akin to to that? Baa, baa, black, play that one! 《Points a shotgun in your general direction 》
